What is the Church’s stance on how one is born sinful?

Q: What is the Church’s stance on how one is born sinful?

A: Death entered the world as a result of Adam’s sin … “Original Sin”.

The fact that ALL (even newly conceived infants) are subject to death proves beyond a doubt that ALL are affected by Adam’s original sin.

The flip side of this “Law of Sin and Death” is that one without sin is NOT liable to die.

Jesus was totally without sin, and no one … not even the devil … had the right to take his life from him.

This is why Jesus’ death on the cross served to destroy Satan’s evil dominion over mankind.

Satan overstepped his authority by having his Jewish and Roman minions crucify the sinless and innocent Christ … once again incurring God’s wrath and his judgment … and (among other things) forfeiting all that he had earlier gained from Adam’s fall.

Jesus was raised from the dead, given all power over Heaven, Earth, death and Hell, and appointed as the new and sinless head of all mankind.

It is only because of this new and perfect human leadership that God is willing to offer peace and consolation to those who are willing to swear faithful allegiance to Jesus, our savior … typically via Baptism … and our subsequent faithful, active, and charitable participation … in all of the work, worship, sacraments, and devotions of his universal (Catholic) Church.

Does the church that Peter built still exist till this day?

Q: Does the church that Peter built still exist till this day?

I am wondering since he has the words imparted right from the mouth of Christ himself. There are just too many churches that claim to be the true church.

A: Click the link for the true story about St. Peter, and precisely where his bones are buried.

Then you’ll have no doubt that Jesus wasn’t kidding, when he said,
“On this Rock I will build my Church.”

God’s Exquisite Timing

Q: What significance did the Bible prophet Ezra have?

A: After the pagan King Cyrus suddenly offered to finance the rebuilding of Jerusalem and the Temple, and return all the sacred Temple vessels, which had earlier been carried off by the Babylonians (this decision by Cyrus was a great miracle … second only to the miraculous conversion of the Roman Emperor Constantine, in new testament times) Ezrah volunteered to get the work done.

This set everything in place for the advent of Jesus, the Messiah, a few hundred years later.

God’s timing is always exquisite.

Ecumenical Sarcasm

Q: Okay, Catholics, are we so deceived?

So we have been deceived for 2000 years. Yes, that’s it! God’s deceived us for 2,000 years! After the Apostles, BAM! ALL LIES.

A: Lets see now …

Jesus gets himself crucified … dies … is buried … rises from the dead … personally establishes his Church … promises to bless it and keep it forever … with all his divine power and might … and it lasts only about 40 years.

Lights out! Over. Done.

Then he makes the world wait 1500 years for the “true faith” to be invented by a bunch of guys whom he never trained, and who never even knew him.

But wait … in the mean time … his original “failed” Church … the Catholic Church … somehow manages to overcome hundreds of years of brutal persecution … faithfully preserve all his divine truth … and successfully convert most of the known world to Christianity.

What kind of failure is that?

Is God confused … or is it those guys who showed up 1500 years late … equipped with nothing except a borrowed holy book … a book whose meaning they haven’t yet been able to understand … or agree on?

What did Jesus REALLY mean when he said this?:

Mat 28:18 And Jesus coming, spoke to them, saying: All power is given to me in heaven and in earth.
Mat 28:19 Going therefore, teach ye all nations: baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Ghost.
Mat 28:20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you. And behold I am with you all days, even to the consummation of the world.

Is Jesus God … or is he a powerless liar?

Brazil’s Pro-Life Movement Stops Abortion Legalization

Spirit & Life

Human Life International e-Newsletter
Volume 03, Number 22 | Friday, May 30, 2008

This week’s guest columnist is Mrs. Magaly Llaguno, the Executive Director of Human Life International’s Hispanic Division and a prolific author. She has worked for HLI for more than 25 years and has been instrumental in helping to “plant” the pro-life movement in virtually every part of Latin America.

Brazil’s Pro-Life Movement Stops Abortion Legalization

With great joy we received the news at Vida Humana Internacional, HLI’s Hispanic Division in Miami, that a piece of legislation (bill 1135/91) which would have legalized abortion on demand throughout Brazil, did not make it out of the Safety and Family Commission. This pro-life triumph was possible thanks to the very excellent pro-life movement that exists in Brazil and in particular to the efforts of Dr. Humberto Vieira, HLI’s national representative in that country. Dr. Vieira, who is founder and president of Providafamilia, has been involved with HLI for over 18 years. He has managed to create a magnificent pro-life network throughout Brazil that is well-organized and united.

The vote that stopped abortion legalization was a unanimous 33 to 0. The four pro-abortion legislators on the Commission left the session at the time of the vote, but two of them were substituted by other legislators who in turn voted for life! According to pro-life leaders, many parliamentarians were crying, embracing each other and rejoicing over this triumph. Now the bill will be voted on in the Commission of Constitution and Justice, where victory is expected. However, we ask for prayers for the ultimate defeat of this bill.

The strategy devised by Dr.Vieira and his great team was two-fold: One group lobbied the legislators and another one worked with the electoral grassroots of the parliamentarians. It was an historic vote for Brazil and the pro-aborts were surprised and in disarray! Dr. Maria das Dores Guimarães Dolly, a pro-life attorney from Sao Paolo, traveled to Brasilia every week to lobby the legislators. Needless to say, the support of the Brazilian Bishops Conference and of many of the individual bishops themselves was crucial. Brazil’s bishops have recently embarked on a pro-life educational campaign that will reach out to all parishes throughout the entire country.

Representatives Jose Aristodemo Pinotti and Cida Diogo initially said they would vote in favor of the abortion law but withdrew before the vote was taken. Pinotti is a medical doctor, and in the 70’s he was a member of the Board of Trustees of the Rockefellers’ Population Council, an organization that is behind population control efforts throughout the world.[1] In the letter he wrote to a Brazilian pro-life leader, dated May 14, 2008, Pinotti claimed to be “against abortion” and only in favor of its “regulation.” Yet according to his curriculum vitae on the website of the Brazilian Chapter of the Jewish Medical Association, he is (or has been) a member of the board of directors of the International Projects Assistance Services (IPAS). IPAS is an American company based in Chapel Hill, NC that manufactures abortion equipment and promotes its legalization. [2] Pinotti is also a past president of the terrible abortion promoting organization called the “International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics” (FIGO, 1988-1991); Pinotti presided over its XII World Congress in 1988.

It would seem that there are some foreign anti-life organizations behind the efforts to legalize abortion in Brazil as is the case in other Hispanic countries. The main example of this type of international pressure is Nicaragua, where abortion was outlawed in 2006 and yet those pressures still continue. Nevertheless, in spite of whatever anti-life organizations and foundations may be behind the effort to legalize abortion in Brazil, the pro-life movement of that country is now a huge force to contend with.

Robert Crown Center is a population control organization

From the Aurora Beacon News:

A well known health and sex education center that serves Chicago area students  plans on opening a satellite office in Aurora this summer to address what some say is a “real need” in the community.

The Hinsdale based Robert Crown Center for Health Education expects to start working with Aurora’s youths in June, according to Kathleen Burke, the center’s chief executive officer.

Now the organization is just waiting for the Aurora City Council’s approval of its lease in a near East Side building.

The Robert Crown Center is a population control speciality center.

Coming to Aurora is a natural move to help curb the growing Hispanic population.  It is unfortunate, but the leaders of the Hispanic community will not speak out against abortion, parents rights and now … population control.

Will Rep. Chapa Lavia speak out against the opening of the center?  I doubt it as she has supported abortion and is against parental rights.

Population control is the real goal of those who forced abortion on the American public.

There was a small booklet put out by Planned Parenthood back in the late sixties where it was plainly addressed.  If you wanted to control the population you had to legalize abortion. Contraceptives  alone would not bringabout the results they wanted.  Unfortunately I lost the booklet, but I remember that message very well.

Make your voices heard.  This is another case of overstepping parental rights and responsibilities.

Scouts sue after Philly demands rent or new policy

Scouts sue after Philly demands rent or new policy

By MARYCLAIRE DALE     5/08

PHILADELPHIA (AP)  A Boy Scouts chapter engaged in a long fight over gay rights has sued the city of Philadelphia to try to avoid paying $200,000 a year in rent to stay in the city-owned space
that has been its headquarters for 80 years.

The Cradle of Liberty Council currently pays $1 annually for the space, but the city has given it until Saturday to open their membership to gays or start being charged fair-market rent.

The federal suit filed Friday accuses the city of censorship for targeting the Scouts but maintaining free or nominal leases with other groups that limit membership, such as Baptist and Roman Catholic church
groups and The Colonial Dames of America.

The U.S. Supreme Court ruled in 2000 that the Boy Scouts, as a private group, have a First Amendment
right to bar gays.

But the policy has had consequences, with municipalities, charities and donors withholding support. “We will not allow discrimination in providing services on city property,” Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter said Tuesday.

A 1982 city ordinance bans discrimination based on sexual orientation and other grounds.

“We’re not punishing them for not admitting homosexuals,” City Solicitor Shelley Smith said. “But they can’t get free rent and violate our policy.”

Smith said the city was unaware of any discrimination by other groups with city-subsidized space, but that it would investigate any complaints.

The Cradle of Liberty Council oversees about 300 troops in Philadelphia and suburban Delaware and Montgomery counties. It serves about 70,000 children, including 50,000 in the city, the suit said.

The Scouts say the higher rent would force them to cut programs, and represents the cost of sending about 800 needy children to summer camp. “They’re providing a tremendous public benefit. They’re giving back a whole lot more than what they get from the city,” said lawyer Jason Gosselin, who represents the Cradle of Liberty Council.

The group adopted an explicit nondiscrimination policy in 2003 after negotiations with the city. But it was forced to rescind it when the Boy Scouts of America said Philadelphia Scout officials could not deviate
from national rules barring participation by anyone who is openly gay.

The Cradle of Liberty Council then negotiated compromise language that barred “unlawful discrimination.” “It was a non-issue once the 2004 agreement was reached, and then sort of out of the blue it’s being brought up again,” Gosselin said.

Smith said the city fears that the language does not go far enough and provides the Scouts wiggle room to ban gays by citing the Supreme Court ruling. “I think they think that their First Amendment right trumps our local ordinance,” Smith said.

The city owns the Beaux Arts headquarters constructed by the Scouts in 1928 and the land beneath it. The Scouts have spent about $60,000 a year to maintain the building, and another $1.5 million for renovations in 1994, the suit said.

The building would be far from the first loss associated with the Boy Scouts’ policy on homosexuals.

Film director Steven Spielberg resigned from the national group’s advisory board. The city of Berkeley, Calif., stopped lending its marina for free to the Berkeley Sea Scouts. United Way chapters stopped funding programs, and the Defense Department stopped sponsoring troops.

CENSORS TARGET KANSAS CITY ARCHBISHOP

Archbishop Joseph F. Naumann

On May 9, Kansas City Archbishop Joseph F. Naumann publicly asked Kansas Governor Kathleen Sebelius to refrain from going to Communion. Sebelius not only supports abortion-on-demand, and works closely with Planned Parenthood, she has received funding from Dr. George Tiller of Wichita; he is nationally known for performing late-term abortions.

Over the past few weeks, Archbishop Naumann has been roundly criticized for his decision. Defending him is Catholic League president Bill Donohue:

“A small group called Catholic Democrats has blasted Archbishop Naumann for using ‘Holy Communion as a political weapon to take her [Sebelius] down.’ The National Catholic Reporter, which runs ads by anti-Catholic and pro-abortion groups, labeled Naumann ‘rigid’ for using ‘political tactics.’ Tim Rutten of the Los Angeles Times condemned him for setting in motion ‘about as nasty and as utterly avoidable a church-state confrontation as you’re likely to see.’ Kansas City Community News opinion page editor Bob Sigman agreed, saying Naumann’s decision ‘has serious consequences for those who believe in the firm line between church and state.’ And Barbara Shelly, who sits on the editorial board of the Kansas City Star, takes the same line, branding his request ‘harsh.’

“All of them are hypocrites. Democratic candidates for public office have been receiving endorsements, and in some cases contributions, in African American churches for decades, yet none of them see a violation of church and state. The reason they are upset with Archbishop Naumann is because Sebelius is on Sen. Barack Obama’s shortlist as a vice presidential running mate. They would make an excellent pair: she supports partial-birth abortions and he supports selective infanticide.

“Archbishop Naumann said it best when he met with Sebelius: ‘I challenged the governor to produce a single instance in her legislative or executive career [which spans 30 years] where she has supported any effort to limit abortions.’ She could not. Which explains why her fans love her.”

Kansas Archbishop to Gov. Sebelius: No More Communion.

KS Archbishop Tells Pro-Abortion Gov. Sebelius
To Refrain From Communion And Amend Her Life

May 10th, 2008

Sebelius’ rebellion to Church leadership prompts stern rebuke

Topeka, KS – Archbishop Joseph F. Naumann has told Kansas Gov. Kathleen Sebelius to refrain from presenting herself for Holy Communion until she takes “the necessary steps for amendment of her life which would include a public repudiation of her previous efforts and actions in support of laws and policies sanctioning abortion.”

Sebelius is known as an aggressive supporter of radical abortion rights and has vetoed a number of pieces of common-sense legislation over the years that would have reigned in an out-of-control abortion industry in Kansas.

As a result, abortion mills remain uninspected in spite of documented filthy conditions, and abortion laws meant to protect women and viable babies remain unenforced.

Sebelius has close ties to abortionist George R. Tiller, who has funneled huge amounts of campaign contributions to Sebelius in the past. Tiller currently faces 19 criminal charges, a grand jury investigation, and two open investigations with the Kansas State Board of Healing Arts for criminal conduct and violations of the standard of care. Nevertheless, Sebelius remains supportive of Tiller and his notorious abortion business.

“We believe evidence exists that shows that Sebelius has strong personal and political ties to Tiller, and has used her political influence to cover up for crimes committed by Tiller and his associates in order to maintain the flow of abortion money into Kansas politics, thus furthering her own political career,” said Operation Rescue President Troy Newman.

“It is because of her policies that three abortionists come to Kansas to commit the latest of late-term abortions from states that prohibit them. It is also because of her policies that women come to Kansas from all over the world for the latest of late-term abortions that are banned elsewhere. These people come to kill viable babies because they know as long as Sebelius is governor that Kansas laws prohibiting post-viability abortions will not be enforced.”

“Sebelius stands in open rebellion to the teachings and requests of her Church,” said Newman. “We join Archbishop Naumann in calling on Sebelius to repent from her support of abortion, and to amend her life to undo some of the human devastation and tragedy for which her public policies and private cover ups are responsible.”

Earthquake “Lights” Recently Observed in China Skies

Extraordinary rainbow colored “lights” were recently observed in China skies, shortly before the earthquakes began.

What makes this interesting from a religious standpoint is the correlation between rainbows, earthquakes, great hail, voices, high winds, massive clouds, thunder, and other similar phenomena that occur in the Bible, whenever God chooses to stop by, part the heavens, and make some sort of an appearance in our realm of existence.

Extra-biblical verbal and written accounts of these things go back as far as the 4th century BC, but as far as I know, this type of rainbow hued “lights” has never before been preserved on film or tape.

Here’s a few Biblical passages to get you thinking:

Gen 9:11 I will establish my covenant with you, and all flesh shall be no more destroyed with the waters of a flood, neither shall there be from henceforth a flood to waste the earth.

Gen 9:12 And God said: This is the sign of the covenant which I give between me and you, and to every living soul that is with you, for perpetual generations.

Gen 9:13 I will set my bow in the clouds, and it shall be the sign of a covenant between me and between the earth.

Gen 9:14 And when I shall cover the sky with clouds, my bow shall appear in the clouds:

Gen 9:15 And I will remember my covenant with you, and with every living soul that beareth flesh: and there shall no more be waters of a flood to destroy all flesh.

Gen 9:16 And the bow shall be in the clouds, and I shall see it, and shall remember the everlasting covenant, that was made between God and every living soul of all flesh which is upon the earth.

Gen 9:17 And God said to Noah: This shall be the sign of the covenant, which I have established, between me and all flesh upon the earth.

Eze 1:26 And above the firmament that was over their heads, was the likeness of a throne, as the appearance of the sapphire stone, and upon the likeness of the throne, was the likeness of the appearance of a man above upon it.

Eze 1:27 And I saw as it were the resemblance of amber as the appearance of fire within it round about: from his loins and upward, and from his loins downward, I saw as it were the resemblance of fire shining round about.

Eze 1:28 As the appearance of the rainbow when it is in a cloud on a rainy day: this was the appearance of the brightness round about.

Rev 4:2 And immediately I was in the spirit. And behold, there was a throne set in heaven, and upon the throne one sitting.

Rev 4:3 And he that sat was to the sight like the jasper and the sardine stone. And there was a rainbow round about the throne, in sight like unto an emerald.

Rev 4:4 And round about the throne were four and twenty seats: and upon the seats, four and twenty ancients sitting, clothed in white garments. And on their heads were crowns of gold.

Rev 4:5 And from the throne proceeded lightnings and voices and thunders. And there were seven lamps burning before the throne, which are the seven Spirits of God.

Rev 10:1 And I saw another mighty angel come down from heaven, clothed with a cloud. And a rainbow was on his head: and his face, as the sun, and his feet as pillars of fire.

Rev 10:2 And he had in his hand a little book, open. And he set his right foot upon the sea, and his left foot upon the earth.

Rev 10:3 And he cried with a loud voice as when a lion roareth. And when he had cried, seven thunders uttered their voices.

Rev 11:19 And the temple of God was opened in heaven: and the ark of his testament was seen in his temple. And there were lightnings and voices and an earthquake and great hail.

Inviting Protestant in-laws to a Catholic (infant) Baptism?

Q: Inviting Protestant in-laws to a Catholic (infant) Baptism?

I am having my baby baptized, but all of my in-laws are hardcore Baptists/Evangelists. Should I even invite people who aren’t Catholic, or will they be respectful about it? Anyone had a similar experience?

They are always bagging on me for being Catholic, giving me names of “different” churches that we can attend. I have a feeling that they will roll their eyes through the whole ceremony and glare at me for not doing things the Baptist way.

A: You definitely should invite them … because it would be an insult not to.

Your non-Catholic relatives probably don’t believe in original sin. They don’t believe in the primacy of grace, and they don’t believe in the necessity of sacraments for the purpose of infusing grace into the soul.

Surprisingly … Baptists don’t believe in the necessity and effectiveness of the sacrament of baptism, either … they think it’s just a nice thing to do … but only for those who are old enough to make a profession of faith … hence their problems with infant baptism.

Ask the priest or deacon to explain to all those gathered for the baptism that infant baptism, as practiced in the Catholic Church, is THE most definitive demonstration of salvation with ABSOLUTELY NO WORKS AT ALL … according the FAITH of the Church … FREELY given by God … who desires all to be SAVED, and to come to the knowledge of his TRUTH.

Since the Holy Spirit IS the Spirit of Truth … and “knowing” that truth involves the indwelling of one’s soul by that same Spirit … it’s clear that Catholics have always had this one right, from the very earliest days of the Church.

It would also be a good idea to mention that grace necessarily preceeds faith … and that baptism is all about grace … and all about the Holy Spirit sweeping original sin from the soul and taking up residence there … making the infant a temple of the Holy Spirit, an adopted child of God, co-heir with Jesus Christ, a citizen of Heaven, and a member of the Church.

Let anyone attempt to make a case against that!

Furthermore … the Bible DOES NOT prohibit infant baptism … while the OT practice of circumcision is cited by St. Paul as one of the strongest precedents for infant baptism.

Your Baptist relatives will likely understand things framed in this manner … even if their Protestant beliefs don’t quite measure up.

Bible Question: Which part discusses dinosaurs and planets?

Q: Bible question?

Which part discusses dinosaurs?
Which part discusses the planets?

A: The Bible explains how to go to Heaven.
It does not explain how the heavens go.

Why does the Bible define itself as “allegory” and as “mystery” to solve by seek and find?

Saint Jerome

Q: Why does the Bible define itself as “allegory” and as “mystery” to solve by seek and find?Does the Bible think for you, or perhaps make you think?

A: The Catholic Church produced the Bible. It remains a Catholic holy book, written by Catholics, for Catholics, under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, and it truly reflects only authentic Catholic beliefs and practices.

What else would anyone expect?

The Catholic Church has also been very clear about how and why the Bible was written, and what factors the reader needs to understand and take into account, when studying the sacred scriptures.

Contrary to what some people believe, there is absolutely no assurance that anyone reading the Bible on their own is certain to able to discern the Bibles’s true meaning … and the 50,000 different, but all allegedly “Bible-based” protestant denominations, serve as absolute proof of this.

Read the official Vatican document for yourself. It’s fairly short and easy to understand, and it includes complete footnotes and related citations:

What Is God’s Will?

Q: What is God’s Will?

A: This is about as simple and direct an answer as I’ve ever come across:

1Ti 2:1 I desire therefore, first of all, that supplications, prayers, intercessions and thanksgivings be made for all men:

1Ti 2:2 For kings and for all that are in high station: that we may lead a quiet and a peaceable life in all piety and chastity.

1Ti 2:3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour,

1Ti 2:4 Who will have all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.

1Ti 2:5 For there is one God: and one mediator of God and men, the man Christ Jesus:

1Ti 2:6 Who gave himself a redemption for all, a testimony in due times.

Book Selection: There Is Yet Time; War In Heaven, War On Earth

There Is Yet Time; War In Heaven, War On Earth

by Cris A. Cannon

Could the Holy Shroud of Turin, the list of Catholic Church Popes, history, math, natural scientific phenomena, and our most recent Pope to pass away, Pope John Paul II, be tied together to show us a roadmap and landscape of a raging spiritual warfare and possibly the conclusion of this war with the return of the victorious Jesus Christ? They just might.

This narrative is entirely new and unique in that it takes historical events and scientific information and links them together in a way never done before. This book does not seek to “set dates” for the end of the world, but it does seem likely we are at the threshold of the end of time as we know it. You will not be bored when the big picture comes into view.
