Why be Catholic?

The fact that Jesus Christ took on flesh, lived a human existence, communicated and confirmed certain divine truths, died, subsequently rose again, and (while he still walked the earth) founded and personally guaranteed the Catholic Church (in spite of the human corruption, which has always been a part of it) provides Catholic Christianity with a unique status, as the only constant, living eye-witness to divine truth (and the ONLY church that Jesus Christ EVER founded, authorized, empowered and eternally guaranteed, for the purpose of our salvation.)

  1. I am a catholic.. And proud of it !!! I try explaining this to my born again friends.. That Christ founded the catholic church.. Can you give me some advice on how explain this to them ?? And thank you very much for this website !!

    • Dear Chris,

Faith is a cardinal virtue that is just one magnificent result of God’s supernatural grace. Unfortunately, most Protestants have long ago, deliberately separated themselves from the primary channels of God’s grace … the Mass, the sacraments, and the Catholic ministerial priesthood … so it’s going to be tough to get them to “see the light” and accept the truth. In the mean time, you can pray, study and act. Pray for their conversion. Study the authentic Catholic faith. Then you can properly live it, describe it and defend it. No matter the task, there is no substitute for a personal program of regular prayer and study, along with full, faithful participation in all of the work, worship, sacraments and devotions of the holy Catholic Church, since this is typically the only way to come to truly know Jesus Christ. The “blogroll” section of my site contains links to many of the best Catholic on-line resources, while the archives section contains over 5000 articles about various aspects of the one, true faith. Use the “search box” found on the upper right portion of your screen. I did a search for you on “apologetics” and came up with this link: https://douglawrence.wordpress.com/?s=apologetics

Thanks for writing and may God richly bless you and yours.
