Editor’s note: It doesn’t get any better than that … this side of Heaven!

  1. The part I have a problem with is explaining, his presence….body and blood, soul, and divinity, Should I say his “Glorified Body”, which negates the cannibalism questions?

    • The “cannibalism question” is a red herring, raised by spiritual Philistines who know nothing. They are the swine which we are admonished to avoid casting our pearls before. The real presence of Jesus Christ is truly present in the Holy Eucharist … body, blood, soul and divinity … under the sacramental appearances of bread and wine. This is a matter of faith. Not of cannibalism. This is because Jesus … who IS God … says it is. Was the Eucharist Jesus gave the apostles at the Last Supper .. before he actually died, and rose again … any less glorified than that which we receive today? No! The “how” we leave up to Him … and it remains a great mystery of faith, knowable only by God … at least, for now. St Ambrose, one of the great Saints, said: “If the Word of the Lord Jesus is so powerful as to bring into existence things which were not, then it follows that those things which already exist can be changed into something else.” Cannibals consume the dead flesh of their human adversaries, which profits them nothing. Catholics sacramentally consume the glorified flesh and blood of the living and eternal God, which is the only known antidote to eternal death. Even a Philistine should be able to appreciate the difference!
