RIO DE JANEIRO (Reuters) – The Catholic Church has excommunicated a Brazilian priest after he defended homosexuality, open marriage and other practices counter to Church teaching in online videos.

In a statement released late on Monday, the priest’s diocese saidFather Roberto Francisco Daniel, known to local parishioners as Padre Beto, had “in the name of ‘freedom of expression’ betrayed the promise of fealty to the Church.”

The priest “injured the Church with grave statements counter to the dogma of Catholic faith and morality.” The actions amount to “heresy and schism,” the statement said, the penalty for which isexcommunication, or expulsion from the Church.

The Tsarnaev family, including the suspected terrorists and their parents, benefited from more than $100,000 in taxpayer-funded assistance.

The Boston Herald previously broke the story that the Boston Bombers and their families were on welfare until last year.

Now the Herald has some more details, apparently based on documents produced to Massachusetts legislators by the Patrick administration, Tsarnaev family received $100G in benefits:

The Tsarnaev family, including the suspected terrorists and their parents, benefited from more than $100,000 in taxpayer-funded assistance — a bonanza ranging from cash and food stamps to Section 8 housing from 2002 to 2012, the Herald has learned.

“The breadth of the benefits the family was receiving was stunning,” said a person with knowledge of documents handed over to a legislative committee today.

The state has handed over more than 500 documents to the 11-member House Post Audit and Oversight Committee, which today met for the first time and plans to call in officials from the Department of Transitional Assistance to testify.

CHICAGO, April 29 (Reuters) – An influential U.S. panel is calling for HIV screening for all Americans aged 15 to 65, regardless of whether they are considered to be at high risk, a change that may help lift some of the stigma associated with HIV testing.

The new guidelines from the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force (USPSTF), a government-backed panel of doctors and scientists, now align with longstanding recommendations by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention for testing of all adults aged 15 to 65, regardless of their risk.

OK … Let’s play “Who’s the Real Terrorist!”

Cesare Santangelo, the D.C. abortion doctor who told a pro-life activist that he wouldn’t help a baby born alive as a result of a failed abortion, described the group that recorded the conversation as “terrorism.”

“I don’t like to feed into these people,” Santangelo told The Washington Post to explain why he hasn’t watched the recording of his interview with a Live Action activist. “I really consider them terrorists.”

Santangelo described what would happen in the event of a failed abortion while talking to an activist posing as someone seeking an abortion.

“You know, legally we would be obligated to help it, you know, to survive,” he says in the video.  “But, you know, it probably wouldn’t.  It’s all in how vigorously you do things to help a fetus survive at this point.  Let’s say you went into labor, the membranes ruptured, and you delivered before we got to the termination part of the procedure here, you know?  Then we would do things – we would – we would not help it.”

He stood by the comment, though he told The Washington Post that he would call paramedics.

We’ll take the ’50s any day, when pregnancy was not a health problem and no president would be found fighting for the freedom to kill the unborn.

Mr. Obama sees himself as leading the nation into the 21^st century, and he justifies his abortion stand as protecting women’s health.  We can only wonder if he skipped every biology class ever offered in high school and college.  Being pregnant is not a health problem, and living, perfectly viable unborn human beings, in or out of the mother’s womb, don’t have any health problems, unless the will to live is now considered unhealthy.

Yes, we’ll take the ’50s any day, when pregnancy was not a health problem and no president would be found fighting for the freedom to kill the unborn.

In the ’50s, women didn’t think they were in a war with conservatives; they knew they were in a war only with overeager young men. Those young men usually lost, which in turn produced a situation where there was no need for an abortion.

Yeah, we’ll take those days.

We will also take the ’50s presidents who left a legacy for us rather than a stream of blood from our own offspring.

President Truman, who took up after Franklin Roosevelt from 1950 to 1952, faced and reined in the reckless power of the corrupt unions instead of coddling them to buy votes as Barack Obama has done.

He also gave us the Truman Doctrine, which served to halt the expansion of communism in Eastern Europe. Mr. Obama has brought more communistic socialism into a once free nation than any president in history.

Was President Obama’s recent Planned Parenthood speech intended to influence the Gosnell jury?

Just a week ago, the President, during an NBC News interview, told Savannah Guthrie he couldn’t comment on the case of the now infamous Philadelphia abortionist, Dr. Kermit Gosnell, because it was ongoing.

Of course, that was a lie … since just a few days later, Mr. Obama delivered a speech before Planned Parenthood’s Annual Gala Celebration of Death that would have been sufficient to nominate Dr. Gosnell and his ilk for sainthood (if he had actually mentioned the Gosnell case, which he did not).

But the President didn’t need to mention it. Gosnell was the “elephant in the room” at the Planned Parenthood celebration and things couldn’t have gone better for them if they had used some of Gosnell’s bottled abortion babies, as centerpieces for their tables.

The point is … Philadelphia is a Democratic enclave. The people of Philadelphia generally tend to hold the President in high esteem and they tend to believe his lies. The Gosnell jury is not being sequestered, so the jury could easily have heard Obama’s glowing remarks about Planned Parenthood and all their associated baby-killers … and the jury could very easily have been improperly influenced in Gosnell’s favor by the President’s very public remarks.

This was no accident … and of course, no one from the mainstream media (MSM) is going to call him out on it, so I will:

The President is a corrupt and decrepit liar who knows no other way but deception. He and his minions knew exactly what they were doing … and why. They have no authentic regard for the rule of law or its process. Any reasonable person might, after all this time, be expected to realize that … whether they live in Philadelphia, or elsewhere.

July 25–Lt. Nathan Jeffcoat, of Orrtanna, didn’t always want to be a U.S. Marine, but it’s safe to say it’s something that runs in his blood.

After being hit by an improvised explosive device, IED, in Afghanistan on June 30 and traveling back to the states, doctors went looking for him in his hospital room to do physical therapy, and the platoon commander in the 3rd Battalion, 6th Marines was nowhere to be found.

Turns out, in true commander fashion, he had escaped and made his way through a quarantined hospital area to check on one of his men who had been injured two weeks before him, and was still in the hospital.

“He’s really, really lucky,” [his mother] Sue said, as she watched her son.

She breaks the eye contact to say she tells him all the time it’s because of the number of times she said the rosary for him, and all the prayers.

When he came back, the only things he had on him where his dog tags, watch, St. Christopher’s medallion and his rosary.

“Pray pray pray,” Sue Jeffcoat said.

That’s how they got through this, and that’s how they’ll get through it during the next tour.

Unlikely story: An avowed atheist’s conversion.

For the first time in my life, I prayed, and said. “Dear God. There is no logical way you could possibly exist, and even if you appeared before me in the flesh, I would call it an hallucination. So I can think of no possible way, no matter what the evidence and no matter how clear it was, that you could prove your existence to me.

But the Christians claim you are benevolent, and that my failure to believe in you inevitably will damn me. If, as they claim, you care whether or not I am damned, and if, as they claim, you are all wise and all powerful, you can prove to me that you exist even though I am confident such a thing is logically impossible.

Then about a month later, when I was reading the Bible for the first time beyond the unavoidable minimum assigned in school, I came across the passage in the book of John, a passage I had never seen before, and to which no Christian in my hearing had ever made reference, which said the same thing in the same words.

-And then I have had perhaps a dozen or two dozen prayers miraculously answered, so much so that I now regard it as a normal routine rather than some extraordinary act of faith.

So I would say my snide little prayer was answered with much more than I had asked, and I was given not just evidence, and not just overwhelming evidence, but joy unspeakable and life eternal.

Writer claims Planned Parenthood knew about Gosnell house of horrors and still referred women there.

Planned Parenthood Southeast Pennsylvania president and CEO Dayle Steinberg admitted this week at a fundraiser that the abortion business knew of the problems at Gosnell’s Philadelphia abortion facility.

Apparently Planned Parenthood did not report it to the state health department or other state or local officials who could have done something about it. Instead, it appears the abortion giant left it up to women Gosnell injured or traumatized to make public officials aware of his House of Horrors.

“We would always encourage them to report it to the Department of Health,” Steinberg said of women who reported problems at Gosnell’s abortion clinic to Planned Parenthood staff.

Why would the nation’s biggest abortion chain not report the problems? Maybe because it referred women to Gosnell for abortions that were later in pregnancy than it would do.

Bingo.  And I should add many of these abortions were illegal to perform, according to Pennsylvania law (which states no abortions after 24 weeks).  Add Southeast PA Planned Parenthood to the growing list of groups, public officials, and advocates who all have a serious amount of dead baby blood on their hands.

In 2005 booklet, Pope Francis unknowingly described Barack Obama, much of Congress, others.

While many sins can lead to corruption, sinners recognize their own weakness and are aware of the possibility of forgiveness, he said. “From there, the power of God can come in.”

People who are corrupt, on the other hand, have become blind to the transcendent, replacing God with their own powers and abilities, he said.

“A sinner expects forgiveness. The corrupt, on the contrary, don’t because they don’t feel they have sinned. They have prevailed,” he said.

One who is corrupt is “so holed up in the satisfaction of his own self-sufficiency” that his bloated self-esteem refuses to face the reality of his fraudulent and opportunistic behavior, he said.

“He has the face of someone trying to say, ‘It wasn’t me!’ or as my grandmother would say, ‘The face of a darling little angel,” he said.

The ability of the corrupt to disguise their true self should qualify them for an honorary degree in “social cosmetology,” he said.

They hide their thirst for power by making their ambitions seem frivolous and socially acceptable. With “shameless priggishness,” they adhere to “severe rules of a Victorian tint,” he wrote.

“It’s a cult of good manners that cover up bad habits,” he said.

The President topped off his pandering with a bit of blasphemy: According to the transcript, Obama concluded his speech by thanking the organization and by invoking God: “Thank you, Planned Parenthood. God bless you. God bless America. Thank you.”

Church Councils typically define, confirm and further illuminate pre-existing Catholic doctrine.

There are 5 types of councils, Diocesan, National, Ecumenical, Plenary, and Provincial. No council has ever changed Church dogma, nor can it, since dogma was proclaimed by Jesus Christ Himself, Acts 6:12,15,15:6,*Gal 2:2.

An Ecumenical Council is where all the Bishops in the world that are entitled to vote, gather under the presidency of the Pope or his representative. There have been 21 Ecumenical councils in the history of the Church, other important councils called ‘synods’ are marked ‘*‘.

The very first council or meeting of the Apostles and presbyters is recorded in Acts 15, and is called the Council of Jerusalem. Tradition speaks of St. James as being the Bishop of Jerusalem at that time of about 50 AD.

A Church council is usually a reaction as opposed to an action. They are held to define a truth after someone has denied it.

Jesus Christ gave His authority in several verses of Holy Scripture. One example is in Luke 10:16, “He who hears you hears me“. Armed with this authority, Church teaching has been accepted over the centuries. Then along comes someone who denies a certain teaching and therefore there becomes a need for a Church council to react to the denial.

The Council of Ephesus of 431, one such reaction, defined the Blessed Virgin Mary as the “Theotokos”, meaning GOD bearer or Mother of GOD. This formal teaching was only done after someone had denied it.

Another example is the reaction of the Council of Trent in 1546 which defined again, the canon of Holy Scripture after seven books were denied by the Protestants in their revolt.

Non-Catholics look at these reactive Church councils as teaching something new, when in fact, all they are doing is defining a truth that has been taught for centuries, without denials.

Abortion advocates are essentially no different from Nazis or Soviet Communists. All of them have picked a class of humans to sacrifice.

Let’s take the Nazis for example: over a period of time and by a series of complex political and social occurrences and maneuvers  the Jew became Germany’s scapegoat. Getting rid of Jews (and priests, and gypsies, and homosexuals, and the mentally and physically disabled, etc.) was a necessary sacrifice to make Germany better, more prosperous, and safer.

The exterminations took place somewhere else, where the average Berlin shop girl couldn’t see and wonder at the clusters of buildings surrounded by barbed wire, the oily smoke rising from the chimneys.

“How can you possibly write that?” some of you are screaming at your monitors. “How dare you diminish the suffering of the Holocaust?”

I’m not diminishing anything. You are. Because history repeats itself, and denial is very human.

What’s so radical or extreme about properly burying the dead?

As part of their week long anti-Islamic hate fest, Fox News braying heads continue to bray about the dangers of “radical Islam.” So it was interesting to see that their “news” programming would feature a man who is part of an all male religious group dedicated to extremist views that pose a real threat to women and doctors. No, I’m not talking about some radical jihadist mullah, but Catholic priest Fr. Frank Pavone who is part of an order of Catholic priests devoted to putting an end to safe, legal abortion.

Pavone was last seen on Fox touting his daring “rescue” of a terminally ill Canadian child. Today, he was on Fox’s “news” show “Happening Now” where he spoke about his desire to obtain the bodies from Gosnell’s clinic so he can give them a Catholic funeral. While he seems benign enough, his writings say otherwise. But he’s pro-life and that’s all that matters on “fair & balanced” Fox News which is always happy to provide him with a pulpit for “pro-life” propaganda.

Jon Scott reported that Pavone has contacted the judge, in the Gosnell case, about receiving the bodies found in the clinic. Mollie Henneberg provided more information on the “pro-life” priest’s request. While the remains were, medically and legally speaking, fetuses, Hennenberg used the more inflammatory, anti-choice term “baby.” Fetus is the term used in the Grand Jury Report which Hennenberg referenced in describing the remains found at the clinic. She reported that Pavone has asked the medical examiner if he can have bodies after the court proceedings have ended.

Video of Pavone was shown in which he said that these are bodies of “real human beings who were killed” and that they need to be “honored” after they were “dishonored.” He added that his efforts will “raise consciousness” about “real killings.” Henneberg reported that Pavone wants permission to talk with Gosnell. After she concluded, Scott muttered “what a horrible story.”

On Friday, President Obama will address nearly 1,000 supporters of Planned Parenthood Federation of America, making him the first sitting president to address the group.

Why, at a time when states are adopting new restrictions on abortion and abortion doctor Kermit Gosnell is facing criminal charges for conduct at his Philadelphia clinic, is the president speaking to a reproductive rights group?
