Pope Francis fires an anti-Traditionalist “shot across the bow” of Franciscan religious order

Look for this matter to (eventually) be adjudicated by Cardinal Burke

The Franciscans of the Immaculate distinguish themselves just by the rigor and evangelical poverty in which they live, by their Franciscan charism since its inception. Instead of this, the Congregation of Religious is directing in the name of the Pope, to transfer the General Government of management to a minority of rebellious, progressive brothers, to which the neo-Commissioner will rely upon to “normalize” the Order, or in other words, to lead it into that disaster which it has so far escaped, thanks to its loyalty to Church order and the Magisterium.

  1. “Look for this matter to (eventually) be adjudicated by Cardinal Burke”

So this is what Holy Mother Church has come to: an endless battle royale—with no possible winners—among rogue prelates, canon lawyers and other political and politicized clerical operatives and functionaries. It all so reminds me of contemporary Washington DC because the dynamics are virtually the same. The collateral damages are the faithful and the Truth.

As I have already commented on another post: The Holy Spirit has not left the Building. The Building has evicted the Holy Spirit.

It all makes me sick to the very depths of my soul.

  2. I do not understand the debates in America over its local issues although I will agree that on the face of it this looks a mess and a disgraceful one at that! If what is written is correct and factual it maybe that the internal frustrations of religious groups is fast degenerating into a farce of self-sanctification! Seems like a few heads should be banged together .and quickly . .and hard!
Word of possible warning though is that in my experience Press and media personnel have their own agenda and things are not necessarily true-full or properly reported! Nothing like the truth should ever get in the way of a good story! So perhaps? the storm is about possible agenda from the media that has written it? It is a thought of caution. . .

    • “Seems like a few heads should be banged together .and quickly . .and hard!”

The head-banging needs to be done by a demonstrably holy person, a living saint. I don’t see anything close to one of those out there.

      • Sometimes we cant see the wood because of the trees?

When St Theresa was about to be Canonized some of her fellow nuns murmured against the whole thing “but what has she ever done?”

Not certain a Saint (in humility and charity) is the right person to beat up anyone . .. maybe needs a more robust brute? Must be lots out there. . ..?

  3. SUCH WERE SOME OF YOU
Christians like to state that they are sinners saved by grace. Christians should say I was a sinner saved by grace. To proclaim, I am a sinner, suggests that no repentance has taken place. Christians are not supposed to maintain the same sinful lifestyle they had before they had their sins washed by the blood of Christ.

THE APOSTLE PAUL SPEAKING TO CHRISTIANS

    1 Corinthians 6:1-11….9 Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived;
    neither fornicators
    nor idolaters
    nor effeminate
    nor homosexuals
    nor thieves
    not the covetous
    nor drunkards
    nor revilers
    nor swindlers
will inherit the kingdom of God. 11 Such were some of you; but you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and in the Spirit of our God.

Notice Paul said these Christians were sinners. Paul did not say they are sinners. Paul was not handing out sin permits to the Christians at Corinth. It was the exact opposite. Paul was saying that the Christians who continue to practice a sinful lifestyle would not enter into the kingdom of God.

Yes, Christians do sin, however, Christians should not be sinners. Christians should have had all the, sin practice, they needed before they became Christians. Do you honestly believe Christians can live an entire life practicing fornication and still enter the kingdom of God?

Ephesians 2:1-5…..3 Among them we too all formerly lived in lust of our flesh, indulging the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, even as the rest…….

Christians should be, formerly sinners, saved by grace. Christians should not be current sinners expecting to be saved by grace!

OF COURSE CHRISTIANS WHO SIN CAN BE FORGIVEN. THE QUESTION IS CAN CHRISTIANS WHO LIVE AN UNREPENTANT SINFUL LIFESTYLE EXPECT TO SEE THEIR NAMES WRITTEN IN THE LAMBS BOOK OF LIFE?
