A message vastly overdue from the small-minded folks who run the Catholic Church?

A leading U.S. Jesuit, Fr. Thomas Reese, marveled in National Catholic Reporter at the sudden breezes refreshing his church.

“(Francis) thinks like a pastor understanding the history of the church but wanting to move with God’s people confidently into the future,” writes Reese.  “He trusts that the Spirit is alive and well in the people of God.

“I have never been prouder to be a Jesuit or prouder of my church or more surprised by the Spirit.”

  1. For which of the Three Theological Virtues does Fr. Reese substitute “Pride”? Faith, maybe?

  2. Why is the Fr. So Surprised, at the Spirit? That is from GOD!
Was he referring to the Holy Spirit?
