The speaker quoted Pope Francis
in explaining his decision
to vote for the bill:

“If someone is gay, he searches for the lord and has good will, who am I to judge?”

Editor’s note: To put it correctly: “Those who, through no fault of their own, do not know the Gospel of Christ or his Church, but who nevertheless seek God with a sincere heart, and moved by grace, try in their actions to do his will as they know it through the dictates of their conscience — those too may achieve eternal salvation …” (Lumen Gentium)

  1. In past times, politicians who made such statements would have been disciplined or excommunicated by the Church. God save us ! There is no leadership exercised anymore … 😦
