All About Eve: Satan quickly surmised that women are the key to ultimate human potential.

Nowhere in scripture do we read of Satan tempting Adam at any time, prior to the existence of Eve.

In fact, nowhere in scripture do we read of Satan directly tempting Adam, at all. All we can do is a bit of exegesis, based on the fact that Jesus Christ,  “The New Adam” – was tempted by Satan – and based on that, we can assume that Adam was tempted, as well.

But I digress!

The point is … humanity was going nowhere until God created Eve. Only then did the possibility exist of an entire race of human beings – numbering greater than the stars in the heavens and the sands on the sea shore (Genesis 22:17) and only then did Satan make his move: first, on Eve. Then, Eve quite easily enlisted Adam in their offense.

Consequently, mankind soon found himself evicted from Eden, in addition to being  permanently and hopelessly enslaved to Satan, sin and death. If not for the saving work of Jesus Christ, our Holy Redeemer, it would have remained so, for an eternity.

Satan continues to concentrate on Eve’s “daughters – sisters” to this very day. And except for the superabundantly graced, totally sinless Blessed Virgin Mary, “The New Eve” – most women tend to remain extraordinarily easy marks! I trust it is unnecessary to name names and cite specifics.

Not that men – except for Our Bless Lord, Jesus Christ – are any better. Most are just bold, recidivist sinners of a different gender. And life goes on.

Get wisdom, because it is better than gold:
and purchase prudence, for it is more precious than silver.
The path of the just departs from evil:
he that keeps his soul keeps his way.
Pride goes before destruction:
and the spirit is lifted up before a fall.
 (Proverbs 16:16-18)

Something to think about, this Advent!

  1. “…numbering greater than the stars in the heavens and the sands on the sea shore…”

A literalist could infer, from that, that the end times are quite a long way off. Likely well beyond the end of our planet. Then again, one might as well attempt to count the angels on a pinhead.

Regardless of whom the serpent tempted—and did not tempt—in Eden, we all come into this world as those condemned by the “happy fault…necessary sin of Adam.” Which might make one wonder what would have been the outcome for our race had he resisted the temptation of his “helpmeet.”

At this point, I will go back to counting those angels, before I start throwing heavy objects through windows.

  2. “(W)omen tend to remain extraordinarily easy marks! I trust it is unnecessary to name names and cite specifics.”

I hope so, I hope it is unnecessary. Meanwhile I will take it intensely personally.

    • You’ll notice the clearly equivocal language I used to describe both men and women – in the the context of committing foolish and often grave sins. Shouldn’t we all take such things personally?

      Doug

      • Janet,

Think Eternally on this one…woman are a HUGE part of a greater good in God’s plan of Salvation…in Heaven woman will be held in high regard, because by your gender and through human Free-Will, chose God. “I am the handmaid of the Lord.” This Free-Will choice Purified, Perfected and Proved Gods unfathomable Eternal Love…ALL of mankind’s Love ALSO must be perfected and purified for entrance and existence in Heaven…In all of Eternity, you will praise God you were born a woman…in Heaven, woman will wink and stick there tongue out at every man…LOL.. I am a man and I look foward to it….think Eternally…Peace….

      • I applaud your version, of Womankind in Heaven!
We, only have the description in John’s Revelation, of Heaven!
Paul, told us, he was in the Third Heaven and Eye Cannot see or Hear what God has prepared for those who love Him!
IMO, there will be no need for SEX, as incorruptible bodies, in Spirit form……Every Immortal Being, well be loved the SAME, and we will worship God, no other!

      • > in Heaven woman will be held in high regard,

Where in the Bible does it say people in heaven will have bodies of women?

What woman angel was mentioned in the Bible?

The fallen angels had sex with the daughters of men. There is no mention of daughters of God having sex with the sons of men.

        =====
        Genesis 6 (KJV)

6 And it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born unto them,

2 That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose.
        =====

If everyone is married to Christ and there is no giving or taking in marriage it might be a big leap in assumption to think there is more then one sex in heaven when people are in their spirtual bodies.

  3. > In fact, nowhere in scripture do we read of Satan directly
    > tempting Adam, at all.

You mean, except for the having sex with Adam thing, the same as he did with Eve?

On the sixth day God gave the commandment to Adam (meaning man) to REPLENISH the earth. How would they do that without having sex?

On the 8th day God created the Adam (ruddy complexion). Eve tempted Adam with having sex with Satan, which he did. Adam even admitted it to God.

Even if you wish to ignore Jesus’s own words about who sowed the field of Kenites, you can’t get around the “beguiled” in

    2 Corinthians 11:3 (KJV)

3 But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.

    exapataō = wholly seduced

    • I generally try to stick with widely accepted biblical concepts. Intriguing as it is, the “Satan’s Seed” theory is not one of them. Not that I disagree at all with 2 Corinthians11:3 or the translation of exapatao. It appears that those pesky Kenites are still sowing tares, as well – and even got one of their own elected POTUS. And then there’s the strange case of O.J. Simpson! I could go on, but you probably know where this is going! Thank you for your comment.

      Doug

      • > I generally try to stick with widely accepted biblical concepts.

The truth is not a concept.

        > It appears that those pesky Kenites are still sowing tares,

Kenya = Cain our God in spoken Hebrew (Ken Yah) and their 1st president was a British educated Kenite and knew it. Obama certainly has.

        > And then there’s the strange case of O.J. Simpson!

I do not know what you mean, except the strangeness of using a convicted felon for lying under oath, Mark Furham, on FoxNews to comment on people lying under oath in the Zimmerman case. When he should be in jail under God’s law serving OJ’s original sentence.

        > but you probably know where this is going!

        No, I do not.

      • Discerning the truth is not always a straight forward process. Some people interpret scripture differently than others, yet there is only one divine standard. As for the Kenites and their descendants – it’s not always easy to know who you’re actually dealing with. By their fruits you will know them!

        Doug

      • Ken Yah?..Wasn’t our POTUS Father from there?
        Interesting. 🙂

  4. Doug,
As long as we are on this topic…..
You were going to answer, the differences in Jesuit Bible vs Catholic Bibles in Genesis 3;15:
    Who stood on the Serpent(Satan)?
    Christ
    Or
    Mary

Adam and Eve, were allowed, before Law to propagate by incest, in order to multiply!
God made Man, the only Creation, that could “mate” looking into the “eyes” of the opposite sex!
Something to think about, for Man, was created in Gods image, Not a Zebra’s image!

  5. @John-Where in the Bible does it say it doesn’t? This goes for nearly all your sola-scriptura theology…my comment was a non-binding analogy for one to think Eternally, thats all…it was upbeat conversation to build-up Faith, Hope and Charity. BTW, happy protesting….

    • “…happy protesting…”

Do you mean that, as in protestant? Just wonderin’…

    • > This goes for nearly all your sola-scriptura theology

If that is a fancy way of saying I do not make up things about God’s kingdom, which we know hardly anything about, because it is not in the Word of God, that would be a reality, not a theory.

No where in the Bible does it mention anyone with a female body in heaven. Only males. The angels in the Old Testament are male, the angels in the New Testament are male. Jesus actually discouraged people from applying earthly forms to heavenly forms, as you did.

      Matthew 22
29 Jesus answered and said unto them, Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God.

30 For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven.

      • From your handle—“John Brown”—I infer that you are something of an abolitionist. Perhaps of sacred Tradition. In any case, I welcome you aboard this blog as a refreshing change from a lot of the “same-old-same-old.” I’ll include myself in the latter category.

      • Hi,

        > that you are something of an abolitionist

Though I am a white man that lives in the South and I am against all forms of slavery, the thing that grieves my soul the most, is abortion and the black genocide it has spawned within the USA.

My real name is John Brown.

      • And Mark Higdon is my real name. Pleased to make your acquaintance, John. And dittos re “abortion and the black genocide”.
