  1. There’s something to be said here about Francis’s “Who am I to judge” pronouncement and mindset: It implicitly calls much settled Truth into question, even if—if—that was not the intention of the pope. If one thing is not to be judged, then why not two? Three? Everything?

    This is not to excuse the moral imbecility of Gary Gutting (what an appropriate surname for someone who would question the absolute evil of abortion). Merely to give it perspective.

    Gutting was “trained” by Jesuits, and then suggests moral reappraisals by a Jesuit pope? Irony doesn’t get much richer than that.
