Francis flew July 29 to Iqaluit (7’000 inhabitants), in the Canadian Arctic, to meet Inuit and “to see “the Inuk face of Jesus.”
An Eskimo dancer performed at the meeting. Francis wore a stole made of sealskin.
The small number of spectators who attended the event was depressing. Even at the front there were empty chairs, as official Vatican media pictures show.
