Ask Alice

I’ve asked Alice to handle some of the many
Catholic faith questions
that regularly
come in to this site, and she has kindly agreed to help.

Alice is a life-long Catholic who knows
that faithful participation in the work, worship,
sacraments and devotions of the Catholic Church …
while essential for salvation … is not without its’ challenges.
Alice is a charitable soul, known for taking in strays of all kinds.
She’s an experienced catechist, a professional writer,
artist, wife, mother, and friend to all.
A staunch advocate for priests,
Alice is also an outspoken critic of wayward clerics,
institutionalized corruption and cronyism …
whatever the quarter.
Alice believes in miracles,
and has played an integral part in many of them.

  2. Hi,

The u-tube video was very interesting.
Creation and Miracles, Past and Present (full length)

http://www.vaticancatholic.com This video disproves evolution, shows evidence of a world-wide flood, covers Biblical miracles, modern-day miracles, Eucharistic miracles, incorrupt bodies of saints and the Shroud of Turin.

What do you think of this site? I’d have to do research to see if true. Is it true? Some things are scary.
    Thank you

    • Dear Meg,

The site you mentioned is fairly radical, in that it does not accept the last several popes as true popes, and is even further to the right than the SSPX in its doctrine and politics. As for the video: anything in it that is not contrary to authentic Catholic Church teachings is OK. I haven’t watched it, but the things you mentioned are articles of faith and subject (at least in part) to some degree of personal interpretation. The fact that God created all the angels good and some of them eventually turned bad seems to indicate that some type of evolution is indeed possible. Noah’s flood is a matter of biblical record … as are the various biblical miracles. If it’s in the Bible, it’s true. Case closed! Things are not so clear about Eucharistic miracles, saints bodies, and the Shroud, since no Catholic, as a matter of faith and/or doctrine, is required to accept those things. I do. But that’s just me! God bless you … and be careful where you web surf!

  4. Excuse me Alice, but my teacher says that animals go to Heaven. I need some evidence to see if they do or not. I think they’re not but I’m just confused…

    • Dear Judith, We hope so. Here’s a link that explains it better. God bless you!
