PBS/Frontline “Secrets of the Vatican” show indicts Milwaukee Archdiocese and Cardinal Dolan, but never mentions corrupt homosexual Archbishop Rembert Weakland

Liberals never indict other liberals.

Never!

Even though Arbp.Weakland caused
and presided over virtually the entire,
scandalous mess.

See for yourself.

Editor’s note: I’m no fan of Cardinal Dolan, but he got stuck cleaning up Weakland’s mess and deserved better treatment from Frontline.

On a number of economic issues, Pope Francis is said to be “to the left of Nancy Pelosi.”

biblecash

But as an economic mission statement, Evangelii Gaudium places the pope — as Vatican watcher Rev. Thomas Reese predicted in March — “to the left of Nancy Pelosi.” In his decidedly populist document, Pope Francis specifically criticizes the economic “trickle-down theories” that were the beating heart of Ronald Reagan’s anti-tax, anti-regulation revolution.

The part of the document that is grabbing most of the attention starts with Section 53, in the chapter on “the crisis of communal commitment.” With his caveat that “it is not the task of the Pope to offer a detailed and complete analysis of contemporary reality,” Francis begins his economic critique like this:

Just as the commandment “Thou shalt not kill” sets a clear limit in order to safeguard the value of human life, today we also have to say “thou shalt not” to an economy of exclusion and inequality. Such an economy kills. How can it be that it is not a news item when an elderly homeless person dies of exposure, but it is news when the stock market loses two points? [Evangelii Gaudium]

Editor’s note: The Pope can be as liberal as he wants to, with his own money! The problem with liberals in the United States (and elsewhere) is they like to be liberal with other people’s money!

The grievous abuse begins when liberals (typically Democrats) gain control of public funding – especially Federal funding – because only the Federal Government has the power to print money – or to borrow – big time – from other countries, who also print their own money.

As for Republicans – they’re just slightly less abusive with other people’s money than are Democrats.

The Spirit of Corruption and Greed is no respecter of race, creed, or party affiliation!

Schweizer: the “bigger problem” in Washington “is not bribery but extortion,”

…the information he discovered about Obama’s Justice Department validates that.

“They can literally identify laws and pressure points and intimidate very, very powerful corporations and individuals into basically paying protection money or getting them to lay off their political activities for fear they can have the book thrown at them or bad things will happen to their company,” Schweizer said.

Schweizer has also detailed how there was statistical proof that the chances of being prosecuted get lessened if companies and individuals under investigation make donations. He has also detailed in the book how the Obama administration’s Justice Department targeted industries and individuals that supported the Tea Party movement after the historic 2010  midterm elections.

Planned Parenthood operates as a quasi-governmental agency funded by and completely beholding to godless liberal politicians and their like-minded supporters.

Revealing the truth about the practices of Planned Parenthood is the goal of a new campaign by Alliance Defending Freedom. The campaign, “Pretty Ugly, Planned Parenthood’s deception of the American Public,” is focused around four little-known truths about Planned Parenthood: that they 1) promote sexual promiscuity to children to create a customer; 2) promote abortion and enforce abortion quotas to drive funding; 3) keep health standards and overhead low, putting women at risk, and 4) they commit fraud by wasting and abusing taxpayer dollars.

“I am upset that Father Howlin has been released from ministry,” (Bishop) Imesch wrote to the supporter. “… people like Father Howlin are removed from ministry for a period of time far beyond what I think is called for.”

WHITLEY CITY, Ky. — Five years after church officials ordered the Rev. Carroll Howlin to stop functioning as a missionary priest in this isolated mountain community, Joliet diocesan leaders received a letter from a suburban pastor that illuminated just how little the diocese had done to enforce its own protective measures amid a crippling sexual abuse scandal.

Howlin, an avuncular-looking priest who moved here more than 30 years ago, had been suspended in 2002 after he was accused of molesting a teenage boy — the second of four such allegations he would face in his career. The Joliet Diocese later substantiated claims involving two other victims, including one who committed suicide at 17.

Summary of the Gosnell abortion case grand jury report. (Not for the faint of heart.)

gosnellbldg

It was all in the open at 3801 N. Lancaster St., insanely blatant in the sheer horrific scale of murder, murders of babies born alive, infanticide, violations of the Controlled Substances Act, hindering, obstruction, and tampering, perjury, illegal late-term abortions, violations of the Abortion Control Act, violations of the Controlled Substances Act, abuse of corpse, theft by deception, conspiracy, corrupt organization, and corruption of minors.

Think I’m exaggerating? Those are the charges recommended against Gosnell and members of his staff by the appalled Grand Jury (pg. 219).

Small miracle: The light of day finally shines on unspeakable crimes.

The Joliet Diocese readily admitted that David Rudofski was sexually abused during his first confession at St. Mary Catholic Church in Mokena. It offered him an in-person apology from the bishop and more than six times his annual salary in the hope of putting a quick, quiet end to yet another ugly incident involving a priest.

But Rudofski wanted more than money.

The south suburban electrician wanted the diocese to truly pay for its repeated and, oftentimes, willful mishandling of sexual abuse cases involving clergy — and he insisted on a currency far more precious to the church than money. He demanded that the diocese settle its debt by turning over the secret archives it maintained on abusive priests and making them available for public consumption.

The Church Militant

The Church Militant (ecclesia militans).—The “saints” of Christ, His “holy nation” (1 Peter ii, 9), fight here on earth, not with loud clamor or great display, but in quiet and stillness. Their wrestling is not against men, but against sin; they seek the pearl of great price and the hidden treasure.

They are depicted in the Sermon on the Mount, in the concise and graphic phrases of our Lord.

They are the “poor in spirit,” the little ones of state and Church and society, the unappreciated and despised, who day by day go their inconspicuous way of duty, and cannot marvel enough that the great and holy God should wish to be with them also.

They are the “meek” who never grumble at life and who ever accept with great content whatever God sends them.

They are the “mourners” who in the lonely night cry plaintively to God: Lord, not my will, but Thine be done, and who at the last can thank their God with glad hearts that they are allowed to suffer with Jesus.

They are those who “hunger and thirst after justice,” those who reck nothing of comfortable piety and well-fed virtue, but on the contrary are pierced to the soul with the thought of their unworthiness, and put their whole trust constantly in the redeeming power of Jesus.

They are the “merciful,” for whom the need of others is their need, whom no obstacle, no sin or foulness can hinder from succoring their starving brother, and whose hands are closed by no ingratitude.

They are the “pure of heart,” men of a childlike simplicity and singleness of aim, kindhearted, guileless and always cheerful, for whom life is all sunshine, a constant loving cry of Abba, Father!

They are the “peace-makers,” men of the Holy Spirit, of inward maturity and serene equipoise of mind, from whom quiet and peace flow forth as from a sanctuary, before whom all discord is ashamed and dumb.

And lastly they are those who are persecuted “for justice sake,” “for His sake,” those apostolic souls and tireless workers in the vineyard, who proclaim His truth by speech and writing, by teaching and example, “in season and out of season” (2 Tim. iv, 2). They seek not their own advantage, neither recognition from the world, nor honors from the Church; they seek only souls. And commonly their lot is abuse, persecution and hatred. For their life is a special challenge to the world, and draws down the scorn and laughter of its wise ones.

The strange (and very sad) case of Father Gordon MacRae

A KAFKAESQUE TALE by Rev. Richard John Neuhaus

“Among the many sad consequences of the sex abuse crisis are the injustices visited upon priests falsely accused. A particularly egregious case is that of Father Gordon MacRae of the diocese of Manchester, New Hampshire. He was sentenced to thirty-three years and has been imprisoned more than twelve years with no chance of parole because he insists he is innocent.

I have followed the case for several years. Lawyer friends have closely examined the case and believe he was railroaded. The Wall Street Journal’s Pulitzer Prize winning journalist Dorothy Rabinowitz published, on April 27 and 28, 2005, an account of the travesty of justice by which he was convicted…”

Whatever happened to the “all natural approach”? Women are “popping” morning after contraceptives several times each month.

‘What is certain is it contains very high doses of hormones and I would hate to know what it does to hormone levels if taken regularly,’ says Dr Gerada.

‘Every time a woman takes it she’d be risking all the listed side-effects such as heavy bleeding, headaches, nausea and vomiting. Her cycle will also be confused for a while, so she might be pregnant without realising it.’

And while users think they are getting peace of mind, what they don’t realise is that the morning-after pill is a far less reliable form of contraception than most other methods.

If taken within 24 hours of unprotected sex, Levonelle is said to have a 95 per cent success rate, falling to just 58 per cent after 72 hours.

Three abortions by the age of 22 is somehow supposed to be a “positive” experience

The only thing that makes me sad is that it doesn’t feel socially acceptable to discuss them in public. I look forward to the day when when asked how she’s doing, a woman in line at the grocery store can be accepted for saying “I’m ok, its the anniversary of my abortion, but you know, I’m doing alright”. Abortion is very common, and it’s a shame we’re expected to keep quiet about it.

Editor’s note: Three babies already dead, but the sociopath drug abuser is doing OK … and craves our approval!

Church scandals are nothing new. Neither is the solution.

The great medieval Doctor of Reform, Peter Damian (1007-1072), determined the root cause of systemic sexual abuse to be episcopal laxity resulting from a misunderstanding of the bishop’s office.

Instead of seeing the bishop as a teacher who leads people by his humble example, whose authority is based on his service for the community, and who seeks to persuade people freely to embrace a Christian life, a number of medieval bishops frequently understood their roles as princes or lords of the Church, whose office unequivocally demanded obedience, and who pronounced the moral law by fiat.

Editor’s note: When the post-Vatican II bishops discounted all that had come before, they almost totally abandoned many tried and true techniques for ultimately maintaining the faithfulness and fidelity of Catholic clergy and religious.

This is not to say there was no scandal prior to Vatican II … just that the church already had effective mechanisms in place to suppress and deal with such things.

When the post Vatican II church threw in the towel, apparently giving in to the world, the flesh and the devil in a wholesale fashion … all bets were off. Nobody really knew what the new rules were, nor did they seem to care.

The result was spiritual anarchy, which rapidly decimated the ranks of the priesthood and religious orders … left the church’s venerable institutions broken and in shambles … and the church wide open for precisely the type of massive and unfettered abuse that we’ve recently witnessed, all around the world.

Stanek: Penn State coverup is bad, but Planned Parenthood has been doing much worse, for many years.

The hypocrisy of the press, the feds, and liberal luminaries is staggering, of course, because there is a pedophile-protecting institution they hold much more sacred than the Catholic Church, and that is Planned Parenthood.

Furthermore, in the case of Planned Parenthood, there is usually evidence, not just allegations, of child sex abuse: pregnancy.

Examples of documented instances of Planned Parenthood’s sex abuse cover-up, compiled by Americans United for Life:

Seen on the web: Abuse cover up claimed to be going on in Diocese of Joliet?

Reader comment re: Crisis Magazine article on KC Bishop Finn
A victim of recent Diocesan abuse 10/29/2011 11:38 am

The Diocese of Joliet in Illinois is also covering up an abuser is continues to be employed on staff in spite of numerous written and verbal complaints.  No secular organization would allow this person’s behavior to continue more than 5 minutes, yet he has been allowed to continue for over 5 years.

Any staff person attempting to address his sexual, physical, and verbal abuses has been threatened into silence.  Bishop Conlon is at least consistent in his response to this issue, in that he has a long history of coverups in his previous diocese of Stuebenville.

Editor’s note: Does anyone know more about these allegations? If true, this is very serious. If false, calumnious. Either way, it needs to be properly addressed … and quickly! Please let me know.

Maguire “Nails It”

When God is removed from our thoughts, we dare not think — because to do so imposes despair and hopelessness. When a culture reaches this stage what do the people do? We do what we now see is being done in America. We escape into pan-sexual licentiousness, porneia-prostitution and perversion; into substance use and abuse; into mind-numbing amusement; into false prophets and false gods; into cul-de-sac philosophies; into political fantasies which promise happiness and security while stealing our freedom and humanity, thus making us into subjects and slaves, not citizens.

And all of this destruction because Man wants to deny the God of Creation and to raise up an altar to his own self-worship.

Is it right to abuse innocent priests in order to prevent the abuse of children?

There can be no doubt that false accusations of sexual offences against priests is a widespread phenomenon. Fr Z has drawn attention to a 10-page declaration recently submitted to the Los Angeles County Superior Court by the attorney Donald Steier, who has been involved in the investigation of over 100 cases of alleged clerical sexual misconduct, who has arrived at the conclusion that many of these accusations are fraudulent. Mr Steier says that “one retired FBI agent who worked with me to investigate many claims in the clergy cases told me, in his opinion, about one half of the claims made in the clergy cases were either entirely false or so greatly exaggerated that the truth would not have supported a prosecutable claim for childhood sexual abuse” [original emphasis].

Priest: “The Catholic Church is really two Churches now.”

The relaxation of the role of the priesthood, what Kreitzer calls a “denigration of genuine priestly charism of the ordained while instilling a false sense of clericalism in the laity,” helped contribute a worldwide sex abuse scandal lying dormant but that would soon emerge, like a full-blown virus, many years down the road. “It fit with the times when priests were encouraged to escape the sanctuary while the laity flocked to it,” Kreitzer writes, meaning that, if the Church could change a 1,500 year-old liturgy in a couple years, then anything was changeable—and possible, even behavior related to Allen Ginsberg’s famous line, “This form of life needs sex.”

While some sexual abuse cases occurred prior to the Council, most occurred in the 1960s and 70s, when the Church was in the midst of its so-called “springtime.”

According to Thomas Plante, Professor and Chair of Psychology, Santa Clara University, the average age of the priest abuser in 2002 was 53. That means that the vast majority of abuse cases coming to light today are from 20, 30 and 40 years ago, the post Vatican II years, when ‘ liturgical experimentation’ was at its height. At that time not much was understood about sexual abuse. It wasn’t until the early 1980s, as Plante suggests in his book, Bless Me Father for I Have Sinned, that serious research began in this area.

Abuser priests identified by Church authorities 20, 30 or 40 years ago, were given the usual Bayer aspirin treatment: a therapeutic slap on the wrist and 30 days of isolated prayer in a faraway retreat. After that, they were discreetly recycled and farmed out to a different parish setting. It was all very much like signing off on a traffic ticket, or getting your mouth washed out with soap, sans the obligatory cold shower.

The Murder of Dan O’Connell and the Cleansing of the Catholic Priesthood

On February 5, 2002, Dan O’Connell, a 39 year-old civic leader, funeral director, and Catholic from Hudson, Wisconsin, had coffee with Mary Pagel, a bus driver for St. Patrick’s Catholic School.

O’Connell asked Pagel if she had ever seen the assistant priest, Fr. Ryan Erickson, inappropriately touch children. He then told her that he was going to confront Fr. Erickson later that day. She advised against it.

Undeterred, O’Connell replied, “I can handle it.”

Sometime between 1pm and 1:30 pm that day, Dan O’Connell and a 22 year-old mortuary science intern, James Ellison, were killed…
