Now filling out his second term, Barack Obama, the Abortion President, has little left to lose, except perhaps, his soul.

obama planned parenthood

On Friday, President Obama will address nearly 1,000 supporters of Planned Parenthood Federation of America, making him the first sitting president to address the group.

Why, at a time when states are adopting new restrictions on abortion and abortion doctor Kermit Gosnell is facing criminal charges for conduct at his Philadelphia clinic, is the president speaking to a reproductive rights group?

Can you spell antinomianism?

Among the most serious wounds of society today is the separation of legal culture from its metaphysical objective, which is moral law[BINGO. Think of this also in terms of the virtue of religion.]

In recent times this separation has been much accentuated, manifesting itself as a real antinomianism, which claims [in error] to render actions which are intrinsically evil as legal, for example, abortion on demand, artificial conception of human life with the aim of carrying out experimentation on the life of a human embryo, the so-called euthanasia of those who have the right to our preferential assistance, legal recognition of same-sex unions as marriage, and the negation of the fundamental right to conscience and religious liberty.  [Have you ever heard a Catholic politician defend abortion because its “legal”?]

This antinomianism embedded in civil society has unfortunately infected post-Council ecclesial life[NB: “post-Council”] associating itself, regrettably, with so-called cultural novelties. Excitement following the Council, linked to the establishment of a new Church which teaches freedom and love, has strongly encouraged an attitude of indifference towards Church discipline, if not even hostility. The reforms of ecclesial life which were hoped for by the Council Fathers were therefore, in a certain sense, hindered, if not betrayed.

“Bound together in service to others” – no matter how many babies we kill.

by Doug Lawrence

The ghost of Cardinal Bernardin and his deadly, liberal, “Seamless Garment” politics is still affecting Catholics … the U.S. government … and the world … in unexpectedly negative  ways.

Spero News reports on a recent USCCB gathering in Washington, D.C. where Denis McDonough, a highly placed Catholic staffer in the Obama regime  preached to the assorted “faithful” … including many of the Catholic hierarchy … about how the Catholic Church actually gave Barack Obama his “start”:

In fact, the President first entered public service through the Catholic Church.  His work as a young community organizer on the South Side of Chicago was funded in part by the Catholic churches of Chicago and their Developing Communities Project.  He was inspired by the sermons and example of Joseph Cardinal Bernardin.  He was touched by the generosity of congregations, of different faiths—in part, he admits, because he was broke and they fed him.  As President Obama has said—after growing up in a household that wasn’t particularly religious—it was that experience, working with pastors and laypeople in service to others, that brought him to Christ.

Those of you who have attended the National Prayer breakfasts or Easter prayer at the White House or our interfaith events have heard the President speak of how he draws strength and comfort from prayer.  As a close advisor, I’ve also seen how the President’s faith informs both his thinking and how he confronts the challenges facing our nation.

Nice “spin” job, Mr. McDonough. Sounds like David Axelrod wrote that speech for you! As a good Catholic, don’t you know that bearing false witness is a sin … even for politicians and bishops?

There’s also sins of omission. Why was absolutely no mention was made of President Barack Obama’s unqualified support for homosexual marriage and abortion, his attack on Constitutional religious freedoms … particularly those of the Catholic Church? And what did actually become of the trillions of dollars that the President was supposed to use for “shovel-ready” infrastructure projects … projects which never really existed?

From the article, it seems as though none of the assembled Catholic hierarchy did much of anything, other than nod in agreement and smile! You would have thought that at least one or two would have gotten up and walked out. But no!

I haven’t seen anything this blatant, scandalous and misleading since Notre Dame! What good are Catholics in government, when they cease to act as Catholics should? Shame on the lot of you!

Peoria Bishop Daniel Jenky pulls no punches, minces no words in his address to Catholic men’s assembly

Noting that “the world, the flesh, and the devil will always love their own, and will always hate us,” Bishop Jenky preached:

The Church survived and even flourished during centuries of terrible persecution, during the days of the Roman Empire. The Church survived barbarian invasions. The Church survived wave after wave of Jihads. The Church survived the age of revolution. The Church survived Nazism and Communism. And in the power of the resurrection, the Church will survive the hatred of Hollywood, the malice of the media, and the mendacious wickedness of the abortion industry. The Church will survive the entrenched corruption and sheer incompetence of our Illinois state government, and even the calculated disdain of the President of the United States, his appointed bureaucrats in HHS, and of the current majority of the federal Senate.

May God have mercy on the souls of those politicians who pretend to be Catholic in church, but in their public lives, rather like Judas Iscariot, betray Jesus Christ by how they vote and how they willingly cooperate with intrinsic evil.

“As Christians we must love our enemies and pray for those who persecute us, but as Christians we must also stand up for what we believe and always be ready to fight for the Faith,” he continued.

Who is Harrison J. Bounel and why does he share Barack Obama’s social security number?

The name Harrison J. Bounel was discovered by a self-described debt collector named Al, whose full name is withheld at his insistence. Al told WND he had been researching someone in Chicago when he noticed the subject’s neighbor was Michelle Obama.

A few curious clicks later, he found the record for Barack Obama at 5046 South Greenwood Avenue … and the mysterious Bounel, who happened to be listed at the same address and with the same Social Security number as the president.

Boehner’s CUA critics merely pro-abort liberal Catholics, out to make trouble.

It is ironic that this particular group of Catholic faculty members would choose to draw from the Compendium to educate the speaker on what the Church really teaches. The Compendium cautions that the first right — ahead of all other rights — is the right to life. Pronouncing abortion a “horrendous crime,” the Compendium warns about the illicitness of supporting abortion. Yet several of those signing the letter have publicly campaigned for pro-choice Catholic politicians — all Democrats — who not only promised to support a woman’s right to choose, but have consistently voted to expand abortion rights.

Catholic University professor Steve Schneck, the spokesman and organizer of the Boehner letter campaign, has actively supported several pro-abortion politicians. In 2009, he was one of 26 Catholic scholars who signed the statement “Catholics for Sebelius,” supporting President Obama’s selection of Kathleen Sebelius as secretary of health and human services. As governor of Kansas, Sebelius vetoed pro-life legislation on four separate occasions.

Archbishop Sartain: “Everything I have, I have received … What I have, I will offer you: the gospel of Jesus Christ.”

In his first address to the Catholics in his diocese, the new archbishop offered them clear and practical guidance for following Christ more closely. He advised them to recall God’s presence throughout each day, and in all situations.

“He is always before us, and we are to follow,” Archbishop Sartain exhorted. “The name of Jesus should be on our lips: in every homily, at every meeting, in every counseling session, in every moment of prayer.”

“His name should be in every parish and school mission statement,” he continued, “and as we go through the day, we should pray his name silently to remind ourselves of his nearness, and seek his protection … for Satan does not like to hear his name, and he flees.”

Bishop Ruins Gay and Lesbian Gathering by Speaking the Truth

HT St. John’s Valdosta blog – Bishop Jaime Soto, Coadjutor for the Diocese of Sacramento, addressed the National Association of Gay and Lesbian Ministries (at their invitation). Several members, expecting the liberal affirmation they were used to, walked out when Bishop Soto surprised them by speaking the TRUTH of the faith, including this statement:

“Sexual intercourse, outside of the marriage covenant between a man and a woman, can be alluring and intoxicating but it will not lead to that liberating journey of true self-discovery and an authentic discovery of God. For that reason, it is sinful. Sexual relations between people of the same sex can be alluring for homosexuals but it deviates from the true meaning of the act and distracts them from the true nature of love to which God has called us all. For this reason, it is sinful.”

Obama and Blair. Messianism reinterpreted

by Michel Schooyans

The election of Barack Obama as president of the United States has raised many expectations all over the world. In the United States, the voters chose a young, mixed race, brilliant president. He is expected to keep his promise of correcting the errors of the president who preceded him. Some excessive terms have even been used, for example the assertion that the time has come to “rebuild” the United States, or to reorganize the international order. This shows the influence of Saul D. Alinsky (1909-1972), one of the intellectual guides of the new president and Hillary Clinton. There has been no lack of zeal among the dynamic new president’s admirers, who demonized the beleaguered president George W. Bush, calling for the dismantling of the politics that he developed as soon as possible. Now the Bush administration, although it did have its merits, was characterized by failures that have been acknowledged, even by the president’s inner circle. Nonetheless, on one essential and fundamental point, President Bush promoted a policy worthy of respect and continuity: he offered both unborn children and medical personnel legal protection, certainly less than sufficient but still effective.

The voters who put Barack Obama into the presidency did not perceive the weakness and ambiguity of the statements made by their candidate concerning this decisive point. Moreover, once elected, one of President Obama’s first actions was to revoke President Bush’s measures to protect the unborn child’s right to life.

President Obama is thus reintroducing the right to discriminate, to “set aside” some human beings. With him, the right of every human person to life and liberty is no longer recognized, much less protected. As a result, President Obama disputes the reasoning invoked by his fellow African-Americans when they demanded, rightly, the recognition of the right of all to the same dignity, to equality and freedom. In its prenatal version, racism has been restored in the United States.
