Take a shot at running over a pro-lifer. Only $180!

As we reported at the time here and here, local high school student Hannah M. was sidewalk counseling at Planned Parenthood in Aurora after the monthly protest at the facility, when a car exiting the Planned Parenthood lot swerved at Hannah, nearly hitting her.

The Aurora Planned Parenthood clinic was in the spotlight as “ground zero” in the national debate surrounding abortion even before it opened to patients in October 2007.

Five years later, abortion opponents gathered for a prayer vigil Monday night, renewing their long-standing calls that the clinic be shuttered.

The Truth Tour saves babies from abortion

Dear Reader,

I’ve asked a lot of you over the past several months — to make
phone calls, send e-mails, speak at City Council meetings, join
protests and come out an pray in the middle of the night.

Now I want to ask you to do something a little more challenging.
You might not like it, but I feel an obligation to ask.

On Saturday, July 19, from 9-10:30 a.m., I want you to stand along
the street with me — at the intersection of Eola and New York in
Aurora — and hold a large graphic abortion sign.

You would be part of the Pro-Life Action League’s “Face the Truth”
Tour, which visits sites around NE Illinois every July to educate
the public about what abortion does to its unborn victims.

It’s a controversial strategy — I know that better than anyone.

But I think it’s essential. The Truth Tour saves babies from
abortion every year, simply by showing what abortion IS.

One day last year, for example, a woman who had an abortion
SCHEDULED later that same day drove past the display and stopped to
say she was cancelling her appointment and keeping her baby.

A volunteer gave the woman information on getting help — and he
spent the rest of the day on cloud nine: a baby would be born in
the spring because he was there showing the truth.

If you’d like to LEARN MORE about this kind of pro-life campaign,
visit the page below and watch the Face the Truth video:

For ANSWERS to common objections to Face the Truth, see this page:

The July 19 Truth Tour will take the place of the regular monthly
protest at Planned Parenthood, and then we’ll hit two other sites
in Naperville and Aurora. Here’s the day’s schedule:

Eola Road and New York Street
11:30-1:00 — NAPERVILLE
Washington Street and Ogden Avenue
Route 59 and Aurora Avenue (New York Street)

July 19 happens to be the final day of this year’s Truth Tour,
which starts this Friday, July 11, in Joliet. You can find the full
schedule, with maps, here:

The final day traditionally ends with a celebration barbeque, which
this year will be at my house in Aurora. Hope to see you there!

Yours for Life,

— Eric

P.S. If you’re not comfortable joining the Truth Tour, please come
out July 19 anyway and join the prayer group at Planned Parenthood.

Agenda driven: ignoring the facts and denying choice

Contrary to the accusations made that defenders of life are agenda driven and un-scientific, abortion advocates are producing evidence that these accusations actually apply to them.

Fr. Thomas Euteneuer reports on evidence from Nicaragua showing the exact opposite of one of the favorite claims abortion proponents use to justify legalizing abortion. They always focus on the claim that women are dying from illegal abortion. If only it was legal, these women would not be dying. There has never been any evidence to support this claim.

Now there is more clear evidence to show that the reverse is true. There are less women dying when abortion is illegal. A recent publication by Nicaragua’s Ministry of Health noted that the overall maternal mortality rate decreased by 58% in the year since abortion has been made totally illegal. There were 21 maternal deaths for 2007 compared to 50 maternal deaths the year before.

Those are the results after just one year. What happens after a number of years? Well, Poland restricted abortion in 1993 and has seen a phenomenal increase in maternal well-being ever since. Maternal mortality, recorded at 15.2 per 100,000 live births in 1990, dropped to 7.3 per 100,000 by 1999.

Going for the long-term case, abortion-free Ireland has the lowest rate of maternal deaths in the world, so abortion advocates were never able to use the maternal death argument there. Ireland experienced only 5 deaths for every 100,000 births, according to 2005 data compiled by the UN Population Division.

These statistics totally contradict the favorite argument for legalization of abortion, that legal abortion will reduce maternal mortality. It seems that abortion advocates have no problem denying reality to push their abortion agenda.

Of course, once abortion advocates achieve legalization of some abortions with their deceptive maternal mortality argument, they move on to declare abortion a fundamental right, so women must have this choice. They drop the word abortion and rally around a “pro-choice” agenda.

The latest evidence of their deceptive defense of choice comes from the Planned Parenthood abortion fortress in Aurora, IL. A sidewalk counselor recently learned that when a customer entered Planned Parenthood with Pro-Life literature in her possession, Planned Parenthood employees took the literature away from her, even though she wanted it. This blatant act is certainly a violation of choice, actually an act of theft! Here is the evidence of their anti-choice agenda as reported by Matt Yonke at Families Against Planned Parenthood:

Sidewalk counselor Karen Koller reports she was speaking with a young lady who was going to Planned Parenthood for birth control, but was very interested in the literature Karen gave her. On her way out of Planned Parenthood, she stopped to ask Karen for some more literature. She needed more because Planned Parenthood employees had taken it away from her!

They forced her to give them the literature she had received from our sidewalk counselors. Karen said employees told the girl, “We need to take these” and when she said she wanted to keep them, she was told the pamphlets were “not allowed in here.” The young lady was livid and, after getting more literature from Karen, told her she was never coming back to Planned Parenthood after their rudeness and, let’s call a spade a spade, theft of her materials.

So much for defending “choice”, and it looks like Planned Parenthood has a customer relations problem! There must be an opportunity here to conceive a strategy to help them get more of their customer upset with their anti-choice attitude and policies. Can you imagine the headline, “Customers abandoning anti-choice Planned Parenthood”? Of course, such a headline would only appear in a Pro-Life publication, because the mainstream media would cover for them.

Robert Crown Center is a population control organization

From the Aurora Beacon News:

A well known health and sex education center that serves Chicago area students  plans on opening a satellite office in Aurora this summer to address what some say is a “real need” in the community.

The Hinsdale based Robert Crown Center for Health Education expects to start working with Aurora’s youths in June, according to Kathleen Burke, the center’s chief executive officer.

Now the organization is just waiting for the Aurora City Council’s approval of its lease in a near East Side building.

The Robert Crown Center is a population control speciality center.

Coming to Aurora is a natural move to help curb the growing Hispanic population.  It is unfortunate, but the leaders of the Hispanic community will not speak out against abortion, parents rights and now … population control.

Will Rep. Chapa Lavia speak out against the opening of the center?  I doubt it as she has supported abortion and is against parental rights.

Population control is the real goal of those who forced abortion on the American public.

There was a small booklet put out by Planned Parenthood back in the late sixties where it was plainly addressed.  If you wanted to control the population you had to legalize abortion. Contraceptives  alone would not bringabout the results they wanted.  Unfortunately I lost the booklet, but I remember that message very well.

Make your voices heard.  This is another case of overstepping parental rights and responsibilities.

Report on the April Pro Life Rally in Aurora, Illinois

I’m excited to report that Saturday’s “It’s a Matter of LIFE &
DEATH” rally was a huge success — despite the harsh, chilly winds.

Or maybe I should say “because of”. The fact that it was such an
unseasonably cold day REALLY pumped up the crowd of over 400
courageous pro-lifers.

We packed both sides of New York Street with picket signs and large
pictures showing the beauty of life and the horror of abortion.

Along Oakhurst, the poignant “Cemetery for Choice” mourned the deaths
of mothers who have died having abortions, while farther down
Oakhurst 100 pro-lifers prayed for an end to abortion.

The rally concluded with a thrilling “Balloons for Life” launch,
with hundreds of pink and blue balloons soaring aloft, each
representing a baby saved from abortion by pro-life ministry.

For pictures and more details, check out Matt’s report on the blog:

Saturday’s monthly protest – Planned Parenthood – Aurora, Illinois 9 AM

Pro-Life Action League

Are you going to be able to make it to Saturday’s monthly protest
from 9 to 10:30 at Planned Parenthood? March 15th. I hope you can.

This will be our fifth monthly protest, and so far the turn-out has
been great, even when it was snowing or bitterly cold.

But even more impressive is how many new people join the protest
each month for the first time. They come away filled with gratitude
for the experience, eager to come back the next time.

So if you can’t make it yourself Saturday, please encourage one of
your pro-life friends — someone who hasn’t participated yet — to
come out and join our pro-life protest and witness.

To encourage them, you might want to share this video from our
first monthly protest back in November. It shows just how peaceful
and prayerful these protests really are:

Again the protest is Saturday morning, 9-10:30 a.m. at New York St.
and Oakhurst Dr. in Aurora. Here’s a map: http://fvfapp.org/pp.map
