Seen on the web: Spiritual enrichment through Mass attendance

I go to the Novus Ordo every day and truly am very much enriched. I go to the EF once a week as well. It is the Body of Christ that enriches us, and that you get at any Mass. To say one is not enriched at the Novus Ordo seems to me blasphemous.

Queer preaching

The first openly gay Episcopal bishop, Gene Robinson, made controversial remarks on ABC Australia’s popular “Q&A” show on Monday, noting that Jesus lived an “alternative lifestyle” while highlighting how Jesus spent time with male disciples and that he loved them.

“Jesus had a very kind of alternative lifestyle,” Robinson said, hinting at a possible sexual orientation for the Savior of the world.

Has Barack Obama appointed himself the new (blasphemous) secular high priest of the United States?

Obama gave a striking endorsement of gay marriage that was missed by most of the press at his speech to graduates at historically-black Morehouse College in Atlanta.

“Keep setting an example for what it means to be a man,” said Obama, according to Buzzfeed. “Be the best husband to your wife, or your boyfriend, or your partner.”

E. J. Dionne is obviously drunk on heterodox feminist “kool aid”.

In giving up the papacy, Pope Benedict XVI was brave and bold. He did the unexpected for the good of the Catholic Church. And when it selects a new pope next month, the College of Cardinals should be equally brave and bold. It is time to elect a nun as the next pontiff.

Now, I know this hope of mine is the longest of long shots. I have great faith in the Holy Spirit to move papal conclaves, but I would concede that I may be running ahead of the Spirit on this one. Women, after all, are not yet able to become priests, and it is unlikely that traditionalists in the church will suddenly upend the all-male, celibate priesthood, let alone name a woman as the bishop of Rome.

Nonetheless, handing leadership to a woman — and in particular, to a nun — would vastly strengthen Catholicism, help the church solve some of its immediate problems and inspire many who have left the church to look at it with new eyes.

Editor’s note: E. J. Dionne couldn’t be more wrong on this one. Women’s religious orders make up some of the most heterodox groups of Catholics in the world today. Making someone like that pope wouldn’t improve matters, in the least. For abundant proof, all we need to do is look at the shenanigans going on with women and homosexuals in the Anglican/Episcopal Communions. But perhaps Mr. Dionne personally approves of such scandalous goings on? After all, he boasts of “running ahead of the Holy Spirit on this one”. Progressive? Hardly! More like old fashioned, blasphemy!

It did not appear to me that anyone else noticed.

Today I wept at Mass. The heresy with which the priest was coming out with was so extreme that I was soul stricken and appalled that no-one else seemed to notice. I will list a few of the transgressions and I just wanted to ask have you been getting any emails of similar incidences in other parishes?

1) The visiting priest introduced himself and then invited anyone who wanted to leave to go to Dunkin Donuts. He said and I quote, ‘God does not take attendance. She has better things to do.’
2) He proceeded to talk about how he was brought out of retirement to say Mass and said, ‘I don’t know why I am here. I don’t know why some of you women here couldn’t do the Mass, or one of you married men.’
3) He omitted the “Gloria” and the ‘Creed’
4) He changed the words of the Gospel. Where it said “He” he said ‘they.’ At the end he offered an explanation after first admonishing all those who read their missalettes while he read the Gospel and advising us to walk out now and head for Dunkin Donuts. His explanation was I changed the words of “He” to “They” to be inclusive.’
5) At the Consecration, he did not elevate the Host and the Chalice nor did he genuflect.

Women’s religious orders are in SERIOUS TROUBLE because they’ve adopted false spiritualities – “New Age” and other occult practices.

This is a problem all over America. One California diocese has a “Spiritual Renewal Center” staffed by two women religious. The modernist sisters invite people to “come into union with Earth-Wisdom.” Their brochure offers “Spirituality for the 21st Century,” including “cosmic awareness,” ecology, energy balancing, and emphasizes the importance of being “in touch with earth.”

Those who are looking for a “spring equinox celebration” can find it at the sisters’ retreat center – on the Feast of St. Joseph with no mention at all of this great saint! At this celebration, the group sits around a coffee table with everyone’s attention focused on an abalone shell and a bowl of earth.

There’s more. And it ain’t pretty!

Obama downgrades Jesus Christ (during Holy Week, of course) from the only begotten Son of God, to “a” son of God.

(CNSNews.com) – Speaking to a group of Christian clergy at the Easter Prayer Breakfast he hosted at the White House on Wednesday, President Barack Obama referred to Jesus Christ as “a son of God.”

Editor’s note: The more I see of this guy, the more he fits the description of anti-christ … complete with David Axelrod as his false prophet. But as St. John writes, there have been many anti-christs, and there will probably be many more to come.
