Old movie about the takeover of Hungary and the Soviet/Communist persecution of Cardinal Mindeszenty should serve as a wake-up call for today’s citizenry!

Editor’s note: The torture, trial and political intimidation portrayed in this in this film is unfortunately, now coming back into style. The deadly and totally scurrilous tactics should give every free person pause, since tyranny and despotism is typically only one war … or one election … away … even in these United States.

Cardinal Mindeszenty is both a heroic and a tragic figure, since he stood up against the godless Soviets virtually alone – refusing to compromise his Catholic faith. Unfortunately, Pope Paul VI and the Vatican policy makers had no problem eventually cutting the Cardinal loose, for purely political reasons, as part of their post Vatican II ecumenical outreach to the communists.

Watching the Soviets complete take over and subversion of the Hungarian government unfold, I couldn’t help thinking how the same thing was accomplished only a few years later in the Catholic Church, by certain nameless, faceless Vatican elitists – and only a few years after that, in 1968, when the hippies occupied the streets of Chicago and succeeded in wresting control of the Democratic Party from the “old guard” – eventually turning that party into a collection of fruits, nuts, baby-killers and tyrannical Marxist/socialist ideologues (the likes of Bill and Hillary Clinton, Nancy Pelosi, Dianne Feinstein and a cast of many thousands more.)

Watch “Guilty of Treason” and see if it doesn’t make a similar impact on you. We may be experiencing similar events in this country, very soon!

Thanks to Thomas A. Droleskey for the tip.

Glossy left-wing Catholic propaganda screed attempts to justify making deals with the devil for social justice purposes.

Evidently, diversity and inclusion goes right out the window when the money stops – if you’re a left-wing, progressive (pro-abort, pro-homosexual, pro-big government, Socialist-Democrat) Catholic.

This piece never fails to indict conservative Catholics for their faithfulness – and it never fails to praise those who have shamelessly and often fraudulently been using Catholic money for anti-Catholic purposes, over the last 40 years.

A number of Catholic bishops have allegedly endorsed this report. That should come as no surprise.

The Divine Mercy and Nine Days That Changed the World

nine_days

by Doug Lawrence

Our parish Divine Mercy Sunday Committee decided to do things a bit differently this year. Rather than simply showing one of the several good, traditional Divine Mercy videos early on Sunday afternoon, they decided instead to have two Saturday showings of “Divine Mercy, No Escape”
the story of Saint Faustina Kowalsa, with the late Helen Hayes doing the narration, plus a 1:15 pm Sunday showing of  “Nine Days That Changed the World” – Newt and Callista Gingrich’s 2010 excellent documentary about Poland, The Catholic Church, Pope John Paul II and the fall of the Soviet Union.

Other than the extremely tight interval between the end of the 95-minute video and the start of the 3:00 Divine Mercy Holy Hour, the showing was hugely successful and nothing less than inspiring.

The SnagFilms website is hosting the video on line
and you can watch it for free.

Here’s what they have to say about it:

Nine Days That Changed the World Synopsis

Pope John Paul II’s historic nine-day pilgrimage to Poland in June of 1979 created a revolution of conscience that transformed Poland and fundamentally reshaped the spiritual and political landscape of the 20th Century.

Newt and Callista Gingrich, along with a Polish, American, and Italian cast, explore what transpired during these nine days that moved the Polish people to renew their hearts, reclaim their courage, and free themselves from the shackles of Communism.

Millions of Poles, almost one third of the nation, turned out to see the Holy Father in person, while the rest of the country followed his pilgrimage on television and radio. Within sixteen months, Solidarity became the first officially recognized free trade union in the Communist bloc, with over 10 million members. The momentum of this nine-day visit would eventually lead to the fall of the Berlin Wall in November of 1989 and the dissolution of the Soviet Union in 1991.

I can tell you that the documentary actually covers a 10-12 year period, chronicling a chain of unlikely events, unparalleled in modern world history, that did indeed change the world. And it happened without the violence and bloodshed that typically accompanies these types of major, geopolitical upheavals (think: Arab Spring).

There’s a lot of great historical information, a lot of terrific newsreel footage of Pope John Paul II in Poland and elsewhere and a lot of powerful, inspiring stuff that should make every Catholic feel truly blessed … and make non-Catholics think seriously about converting … which is something that Newt Gingrich actually did!

There’s also great lessons in the video for all of today’s Catholics … in particular, our American Catholic bishops … about how to deal effectively with would-be tyrants, recalcitrant politicians and godless secularists.

President Barack Obama should watch this video … not that it would do him much good. I think he would at first, be jealous … and later, fearful.  And well he should be!

Happy Easter! Happy Divine Mercy Sunday!

Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia!

Seen on the web: Abortion doesn’t un-pregnantify you: it just kills your kid.

Margaret Sanger has been lauded by some as a woman of valor, but a closer look reveals that Planned Parenthood’s audacious founder had some unsavory things to say about matters of race, birth control, and abortion.

An outspoken eugenicist herself, Sanger consistently promoted racist ideals with a contemptuous attitude. Read on to learn why Planned Parenthood hides behind a false memory of Sanger, and why, despite her extraordinarily prolific writing career, one rarely sees her quoted by Planned Parenthood leaders and apologists.

Cardinal George: The very real dangers of being on the wrong side of things.

Eternity enters into human history in often incomprehensible ways. God makes promises but gives no timelines.

Visiting the shrine at Fatima, pilgrims enter a huge plaza, with the spot of the apparitions marked by a small chapel to one side, a large church at one end, an equally large adoration chapel at the other end, and a center for visitors and for the hearing of confessions. Just outside the main grounds, a section of the Berlin Wall has been re-built, a stark witness to what Mary had talked about almost a century ago. Communism in Russia and its satellite nations has collapsed, although many of its sinful effects are still with us.

Communism imposed a total way of life based upon the belief that God does not exist. Secularism is communism’s better-scrubbed bedfellow.

A small irony of history cropped up at the United Nations a few weeks ago when Russia joined the majority of other nations to defeat the United States and the western European nations that wanted to declare that killing the unborn should be a universal human right.

Who is on the wrong side of history now?

Dangerous Flirting: Russian Wonders Why West Is Enamored With Socialism

He explains that he finds the Obama administration’s socialist leanings particularly disturbing, and draws attention to a hero of President Obama and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton: Saul Alinsky, a neo-Marxist writer who dedicated his first book to none other than the Devil, whom he saw as the first successful revolutionary to overthrow the “oppressive regime of God.” (Alinsky’s exact words were: “Lest we forget at least an over-the-shoulder acknowledgment to the very first radical: from all our legends, mythology, and history… the first radical known to man who rebelled against the establishment and did it so effectively that he at least won his own kingdom — Lucifer.”).

Komov believes that if you “dig deep enough into the ideological roots of these socialist movements, you end up finding satanic roots in them.” And although only a softer version is prevalent now, “it is still very dangerous,” he says. “I would warn all those people fascinated by socialist ideas that they have never worked in human history — never worked.”

The traditional nuclear family is a particular enemy of socialism, he says, because it is the basic institution that preserves values and passes them on to the next generation. “The state, if it wants to dominate life and the individual from birth to death, needs to destroy the family, because the family is independent of the state,” he argues. “As Marx and Engels said, the family is a repressive, bourgeois institution that needs to be destroyed; they need to get rid of its patriarchal power and that of Christianity because they are the main obstacles of the social revolution.”

Father Andrew addresses the Colorado Republican State Assembly and (verbally) hits one out of the park!

Fr. Andrew – “Socialists do not accept biblical truth.
They do not understand natural law…”

Fr. Andrew was invited to lead the opening prayer at the 2012 Colorado Republican State Assembly and Convention in the Magness Arena at the University of Denver. The moral challenges facing our country are not caused by political affiliation, but rather by attacks on religious freedom.  He invites all people of conscience to uphold religious freedom.

“The Church has rejected the totalitarian and atheistic ideologies associated in modem times with ‘communism’ or ‘socialism.'” – Catechism of the Catholic Church 2425

This 5 minute video is well worth viewing

Editor’s note: The socialist Republicans and the anti-Catholics in the Colorado Assembly didn’t know whether to applaud … just stand there … or run!
