Help Enact Regulations To Protect Pro-Life Health Care Workers

Help Enact Regulations To Protect Pro-Life Health Care Workers

You must act now.  The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has proposed regulations to protect health care workers’ right of conscience.  In short, if a person or entity (e.g. hospital) refuses to particiapte in any event surrounding an abortion, the person or entity cannot be retaliated against.

It is imperative that HHS hears from you.  The regulations have an open comment period that ends this Thursday, September 25th.  Pro-abortion forces have rallied their troops to fight this just cause.  Now we have to rally too!

Go here and complete the HHS form.  Tell them it is important that health care workers are able to live out their values.

Laws are already on the books that protect freedom of conscience.  The proposed regulations are intended to clarify this issue, so that existing rights are better known and enforced.

Feel free to copy, paste and edit the letter below into the comments section of the HHS website:

I am writing in support of the proposed Provider Conscience Regulation submitted by Secretary Leavitt.

The proposed regulation will reinforce current laws protecting health care workers who have a right to follow their conscience. They merely preserve the rights of individuals to refuse participation in abortion-related health care.  Clarity of the current law is needed so people know their rights.

In the face of increasing shortages of qualified health care personnel, these regulations will also help ensure that pro-life doctors, nurses and hospitals continue to provide valuable services to needy communities around the country.
