Lessons the Coca-Cola Company Promptly Learned
That Catholic Clerics Never Have

by Doug Lawrence

It is a form of blasphemy to blame God’s Holy Church for what some choose to term “small-minded” rules, since the Church belongs to God – and God is utterly incapable of any type of error.

Rather, let’s look at those clerics – at every level – who have led the Church in more worldly directions – imprudent directions that were  often contrary to the laws of God and detrimental to the care of souls.

I’m not going to attempt to list all of the official sins of the clerical leadership of the Catholic Church, nor is such a thing necessary, since unlike Church teachings, the bulk of those offenses are indeed known and essentially understood by all.

The small-minded truth of the matter is the sheer audacity and unmitigated gall of those liberal, modernist clerics who thought themselves smarter than God and who decided that everything needed to change – and who discarded 2000 years of accumulated wisdom and tradition, in favor of their own, flavor-of-the-week, untested novelties.

When the managers of the Coca-Cola Company got caught up in the very same obtuse spirit of “novelty for the sake of novelty” they too summarily discontinued a tried and true, proven “product” in favor of an all-new replacement which they deemed to be more in tune with modern  times and tastes.

They were wrong – and “New Coke” turned out to be a total, unmitigated disaster – that without prompt corrective action  might  have spelled the end of the company.

So, motivated by economic factors and the desire to survive – within a period of about six months – original Coca-Cola was back – renamed “Classic Coke” – and “New Coke” was on its way out!

You can’t even buy the stuff, today – not that anyone ever really wanted to!

Now, back to us poor, old, Catholics …

Fifty years later, we’re still being set upon by maladjusted incompetents who – having tried everything they could think of to “sell” us what is clearly an inferior “product” – now resort to media events, insults and guilting – in order to cajole the faithful into accepting their damaged and often distasteful spiritual “wares”.

Enough, already! The only reason the post-Vatican II Catholic Church hasn’t already totally gone out of business is the awesome power and the tender mercies of God Almighty – who has obviously taken pity on the remnant of faithful Catholics – those who have patiently born the trials and tribulations of “New Church” – remaining zealous and doing penance – solely for the glory of God and his Kingdom.

“New Church” never tasted right – and it’s not getting any better with age. Waiting more than 50 years to get rid of what should have been immediately recognizable and apparent to all, constitutes an abject failure of Church leadership and a willful denial of the direct advocacy of the Holy Spirit.

This is not only a travesty – it’s a sin!

We Catholics are the victims of incompetent bishops, corrupt lay administrators and a cadre of ill-trained and poorly managed priests and deacons.

Our once great system of catechetical training and Catholic education has become a stumbling block for the faithful and a safe haven for heretics and fools, while at the same time, by virtually every measure, what today passes for the Catholic Church is almost everywhere in sharp decline.

We even have a third world, South American, Jesuit-Contra, community organizer, “water down the dogma” pope who can’t seem to make up his mind about things (other than not liking traditionalists.)

Jesus knew exactly what to do with this type of foul-tasting stuff:

Revelation 3:16-19 But because you art lukewarm and neither cold nor hot, I will begin to vomit you out of my mouth.

Because you say: I am rich and made wealthy and have need of nothing: and know not that you art wretched and miserable and poor and blind and naked.

I counsel thee to buy of me gold, fire tried, that you may be made rich and may be clothed in white garments: and that the shame of your nakedness may not appear.

And anoint your eyes with eye salve, that you may see.

Such as I love, I rebuke and chastise.

Be zealous therefore and do penance.

…the more the culture tried to paint the Catholic Church as full of sinful people, the more convinced I became of its truth.

Holy Ghost Fire

I didn’t believe that ordinary people could come up with a set of teachings that contained unparalleled wisdom; maintain them consistently across all times and places, even despite tremendous pressure to recant; and then keep it all going for two thousand years.

And even if the media had been right that the priesthood and episcopate were full of corrupt and immoral people, that would have only made the situation more inexplicable in purely human terms—corrupt and immoral people are always the first to sell out and preach whatever message the culture wants to hear in order to get more power for themselves.

In short, I saw something divine at work here.

Want to understand what Biden and company are attempting to do to the United States? Follow the money!

Watch money. Money is the barometer of a society’s virtue.

When you see that trading is done, not by consent, but by compulsion–when you see that in order to produce, you need to obtain permission from men who produce nothing–when you see that money is flowing to those who deal, not in goods, but in favors–when you see that men get richer by graft and by pull than by work, and your laws don’t protect you against them, but protect them against you–when you see corruption being rewarded and honesty becoming a self-sacrifice–you may know that your society is doomed.

Money is so noble a medium that is does not compete with guns and it does not make terms with brutality. It will not permit a country to survive as half-property, half-loot.

“Whenever destroyers appear among men, they start by destroying money, for money is men’s protection and the base of a moral existence.

Destroyers seize gold and leave to its owners a counterfeit pile of paper. This kills all objective standards and delivers men into the arbitrary power of an arbitrary setter of values.

Gold was an objective value, an equivalent of wealth produced. Paper is a mortgage on wealth that does not exist, backed by a gun aimed at those who are expected to produce it.

Paper is a check drawn by legal looters upon an account which is not theirs: upon the virtue of the victims.

Watch for the day when it bounces, marked, ‘Account overdrawn.’

We’re all called to stand up for human life … for the truth … and for what’s right and good.

by Doug Lawrence

The biblical account of the creation of man duly records the fact that the entire human race is derived from a single, original couple … and when that first couple united in one flesh… the first child was conceived.

Like every child ever since, there was never any real doubt as to precisely who or what a child is. It is a newly minted human life … begotten of 100% human stuff … stuff that was originally derived from Adam and Eve … according to the God-given power of procreation.

Thousands of years later, nothing has really changed. Most importantly, neither has the character and consistency of human life. Every new life bridges the gap between one generation and the next … extending the human race … and every new life explicitly begins at the moment of conception … no matter how some people, in order to suit their own ends … might attempt to redefine the terms involved.

The Bible also clearly records God’s main purpose for humanity:

“So God created man in his [own] image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that move upon the earth.

And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which [is] upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which [is] the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat. And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creep upon the earth, wherein [there is] life, [I have given] every green herb for meat: and it was so.

And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, [it was] very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.” (Genesis 1:27-31)

So … God blessed man by giving him the ability to bear offspring (procreate) … and by giving him dominion over all of the substantial resources to be found on the earth … in order to nourish, shelter, and otherwise accommodate all who would eventually come to be.

The plan was a good one, and it still is. Unfortunately, many have other ideas about how things should be done, and they prefer instead, for whatever reasons, to pursue disordered and sinful lifestyles that are in direct opposition to God’s will.

World governments also used to be guided by God’s express instructions, as clearly stated in the Bible, and faithfully interpreted by the Catholic Church. But those days too, are long gone.

Today, the secular courts make government policy, while increasingly embattled and divided legislatures are unable (or unwilling) to come together and stand on their own, in order to meet judicial challenges.

The result is a literal death spiral … with governments going financially bankrupt, while their citizens are increasingly lulled into the spiritual bankruptcy of godless lifestyles … all under the guise of expanded personal freedom and liberty.

The process of corruption greatly accelerated in the aftermath of Vatican II, when wholesale apostasy within the church unfortunately coincided with a similarly undisciplined social revolution taking place in the world’s great institutions … and on the streets.

The Catholic Church, which was supposed to be the divine bulwark that kept the forces of the world, the flesh, and the devil, at bay … instead turned out to be “missing in action” for one of the most important spiritual battles in the history of the world!

The combined death toll from abortion and AIDS can easily be counted. It is absolutely staggering … and still mounting …. yet the Catholic Church continues to speak with a weak voice, split almost down the middle between the protestantized “social justice” types and traditional, sacramental Catholics.

Worse yet is that both sides together (if such a thing is actually possible) based on their visible participation at Sunday Mass, make up only about ten percent of those who are actually counted today as Catholic … perhaps 100 million out of an estimated 1.1 billion.

The rest are AWOL (absent without leave), MIA (missing in action), or they have simply left the church without telling anyone.

The bottom line: We no longer have enough active, properly trained, fully informed and equipped Catholics in the world, to get the job done.

And the devil knows it!

So … faced with 39 years of generally unrestricted world-wide abortion deaths, numbering in the hundreds of millions … and 50 years of general apostasy and corruption so widespread that few even care anymore … what are faithful Catholics to do?

Here’s a plan that can’t fail:

1) Start by making a good confession, in the Sacrament of Reconciliation. If it has been so long that you no longer remember how, simply tell that to the priest and he’ll walk you through the various steps. This will “clear the decks” and permit you to cast off any and every type of past sin. It will also fill your soul with God’s grace, in order to give the Holy Spirit some “room” to work.

2) Get to Mass. The Sunday Mass obligation has never been rescinded. And there’s absolutely nothing to prevent your attendance at a weekday mass, or two.

The Mass is the universal prayer of the whole Church, and it is also a solemn renewal of the one time, once for all, perfect sacrifice of Jesus Christ, on the cross. Our participation at Mass confirms our distinct identity as Catholics, and it also serves as a major channel of God’s grace, which typically helps empower us to discern … and then (hopefully) carry out … God’s will … according to his plan. Successfully accomplishing that is about as good as it gets … this side of Heaven!

3) If there’s any impediment to your receiving Holy Communion … do whatever is necessary to remove it. You are what you eat, and without the right spiritual food, you’re likely to be quickly vanquished by the enemy. Additionally, the Holy Eucharist … worthily received … remains the only known antidote to eternal death and hell.

4) Pray several times a day, every day. Pray at regular, set times. Pray at regular, specific places. Pray for specific purposes. Pray for the people and institutions you love. Pray for the conversion of your enemies. Pray in order to give thanks and praise to God. Pray to ask God for favors. Pray to ask God for forgiveness (but be sure to get to confession promptly, in the event of mortal sin.)

Prayer is the way we officially give God permission
to interfere in our lives … for good.

5) Team up with other like-minded Catholics. The Church is the communion of all believers in Jesus Christ, but today’s church, as an institution, along with many associated apostolates and religious orders, is highly dysfunctional, in many ways.

Don’t let that stop you. Instead, accomplish whatever you can, in and through your own little group … but always in complete conformity with Catholic doctrine and tradition (which may not be easy, since it’s still quite difficult to get a firm and accurate opinion on things, from most Catholic priests and bishops.)

Remember: In the first century, twelve well disciplined, highly dedicated men, by the power of God’s grace, and against all odds, successfully established the Catholic Church throughout the known world.

Today’s Catholics still worship the same God, and we still operate according to the same grace. The mission has never changed. Only the results seem to be lacking. And that’s a real shame, since:

“… we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestine to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.

Moreover whom he did predestine, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified. What shall we then say to these things?

If God be for us, who can be against us?” (Romans 8:28-31)

Time to get busy!

Ignoring the inherited, intuitive wisdom by which the people have always lived.

What we have in the United States today is not an ideological battle, or even a cultural war, but something larger and deeper: a true clash of irreconcilable philosophic views, not just about abortion, but about truth.

One of those views encompasses all that is best in the Western tradition from antiquity until now, including the findings of science, and the other holds that everything that is essential to human betterment in the modern world began during the Enlightenment, and everything preceding that was obscurantist, credulous, and bloody.

From the mad-dog attacks of the New Atheists to the absurd mental gymnastics of Justice Harry Blackman in Roe v. Wade, from New York Times editorials to movies and TV dramas, the strategy is always the same: create a climate of doubt about the possibility of objective truth, discoverable by reason; corrupt the inherited intuitive wisdom by which the people have always lived; construct and then promulgate through mass-media entertainment a philosophy that puts an end to all philosophy, destroying civility in its broadest and deepest sense.

Define, deride, delegitimize, deconstruct, then destroy.

Editor’s note: In the aftermath of the 2nd Vatican Council, the Catholic Church experienced nothing less than this. The confusion (and yes, deconstruction) in the Catholic Church paved the way for the release of all the societal evils that followed in its (woke) wake.

Pope John XXIII made the mess.

Pope Paul VI inherited the mess.

Pope John Paul I was fortunate to have to endure the mess for only 33 days.

Pope John Paul II was a primary instigator of the mess (at the council) and spent 27 years of his papacy trying to make sense of it and promoting it.

Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger (Pope Benedict XVI) was one of the key architects of the mess (at the council). As one of the most widely published liberal, radical German Catholic theologians, his own extensive writings (including some of his later works) convict him of many of the sins that are mentioned in this article.

It’s interesting to note that once Benedict XVI inherited the mess he helped to make, even he couldn’t stand by and allow things to proceed, without at least a few significant modifications. Because of this, many mistakenly consider Benedict XVI to have been a conservative pope.

And now, of course, we have Francis…

Corruptio optimi pessima is a Latin phrase meaning, “corruption of the best becomes the worst.”

Biden’s version of Catholicism is an escapade.  Biden’s election was illicit.  His fake-Presidency is ridiculous, full of blunders, gaffs and senility.  But probably over 50% of US Catholic priests and bishops voted for this man in 2020—thinking it was the “Catholic” thing to do.

“Reverse Inquisition” can rid Church of Apostate Priests, Antichrist Bishops and Popes

devilcolorcropAt the Vatican’s Good Friday Liturgy, 2002, the Preacher to the Papal Household, Capuchin Fr. Raniero Cantalamessa, said the other religions “are not merely tolerated by God …. but positively willed by Him as an expression of the inexhaustible richness of His grace and His will for everyone to be saved.”

This, in short, is apostasy.

St. John, the Apostle of Love, said: “Who is a liar but he who denies that Jesus is the Christ? This is Antichrist who denies the Father and the Son” (1 John 1: 22). Thus, Islam, Judaism, Hinduism, Buddhism, any religion that rejects Christ, according to Scripture, is an Antichrist religion.

Regarding heretical religions, for example, “Orthodoxy” and Protestantism, St. Paul tells us that false creeds are the “doctrines of devils” (1 Tim. 4: 1).

Editor’s note: By almost every account, much of what officially passes for Roman Catholicism today, is just another form of heretical, Neo-Protestant Christianity.

Catholic teaching is in shambles. Catholic unity is a myth. Catholic leadership is so weak and ineffective as to be laughable, if the matter wasn’t actually so deadly serious.

Our pope thinks he’s Barack Obama, many of our bishops think they’re Senator Harry Reed, and the few Catholics still remaining in the pews really don’t know what to think!

The people running the Catholic Church today are teaching things that are radically different and often totally opposed to the truths which were handed down to us by Jesus and the Apostles, while paying out multi-BILLIONS of dollars (of our money) in clerical abuse settlements and legal fees.

Divine truth and Catholic morality doesn’t change, so exactly what in the HELL has been going on for lo these many years?

Think: “Reverse Inquisition”

The question is no longer simply whether or not the 2nd Vatican Council was legitimate. Everything that has happened in the aftermath of that council, every church teaching that was “reformulated” during that time and everyone who subsequently rose to power in the post-counciliar church must now be subjected to the closest scrutiny – by the laity.

Faithful Catholic lay persons can rely on the power of constant, fervent prayer, combined with the power of the purse to bring about the necessary “reform of the reform”. But until such a concerted effort actually comes together, don’t expect much.

Proposed canonization of Pope John Paul II: Just the latest “rupture” with Catholic Sacred Tradition.

If Pope John Paul II is declared a saint, false ecumenism will be canonized. How then should we view saints such as Edmund Campion and Fidelis of Sigmaringen, or others—uncanonized—who have upheld the True Faith in the face of adversity?

Editor’s note: There’s big trouble in Vatican City – trouble which can no longer be simply ignored by faithful Catholics.

The blatant modernism of Pope Francis, his select group of cardinals, and the way they choose to operate, bears a striking similarity to the way Barack Obama and his corrupt regime prefer to get things done here in the good old USA.

Both fail to pass the “smell” test.

On a number of economic issues, Pope Francis is said to be “to the left of Nancy Pelosi.”

biblecash

But as an economic mission statement, Evangelii Gaudium places the pope — as Vatican watcher Rev. Thomas Reese predicted in March — “to the left of Nancy Pelosi.” In his decidedly populist document, Pope Francis specifically criticizes the economic “trickle-down theories” that were the beating heart of Ronald Reagan’s anti-tax, anti-regulation revolution.

The part of the document that is grabbing most of the attention starts with Section 53, in the chapter on “the crisis of communal commitment.” With his caveat that “it is not the task of the Pope to offer a detailed and complete analysis of contemporary reality,” Francis begins his economic critique like this:

Just as the commandment “Thou shalt not kill” sets a clear limit in order to safeguard the value of human life, today we also have to say “thou shalt not” to an economy of exclusion and inequality. Such an economy kills. How can it be that it is not a news item when an elderly homeless person dies of exposure, but it is news when the stock market loses two points? [Evangelii Gaudium]

Editor’s note: The Pope can be as liberal as he wants to, with his own money! The problem with liberals in the United States (and elsewhere) is they like to be liberal with other people’s money!

The grievous abuse begins when liberals (typically Democrats) gain control of public funding – especially Federal funding – because only the Federal Government has the power to print money – or to borrow – big time – from other countries, who also print their own money.

As for Republicans – they’re just slightly less abusive with other people’s money than are Democrats.

The Spirit of Corruption and Greed is no respecter of race, creed, or party affiliation!

“Catholic” charities are not bringing Christ, but rather programs, projects, and agencies that focus specifically on “services” that are at absolute odds with Catholic teaching.

Genuine social justice is not composed of bureaucracies, collaboration with government agencies, and high salaries. As Pope Francis has recently said, it begins with Christ: “The Church must bring Jesus, the love of Jesus, the charity of Jesus.”

And that’s the rub. Our research has repeatedly pointed out over the last four years that Catholic Charities USA,Catholic Campaign for Human Development, and Catholic Relief Services have repeatedly shown that they are not bringing Jesus, but rather programs, projects, and agencies that focus specifically on “services” that are at absolute odds with Catholic teaching.

Detroit’s abortion rate is nearly 40 percent. Is it any wonder that nobody lives there anymore?

The staggering nature of Detroit’s abortion rate is mirrored in the city’s infant mortality rate. In 2010, data from the National Center for Health Statistics showed Detroit’s infant mortality rate to be 13.5 deaths per 1,000 live births—the number 1 worst rate in the United States, a ranking it shares with Cleveland, parts of which have an infant mortality rate that exceeds that of some third-world countries.

Even if abortion and infant mortality did not cause Detroit’s collapse, I don’t know how the events cannot be correlated. Living by principles that destroy life is simply and obviously unsustainable. Infant mortality and abortion alike claim the lives of innocent human beings—human beings who, had they lived, perhaps could have saved Detroit.

Pope Francis privately acknowledges existence of sinister “Lavender Mafia” within the Catholic Church

Pope Francis reportedly confirmed the existence of a “gay lobby” within the Roman Curia, in a candid conversation with visiting religious from Latin America.

During a meeting with representatives of the Latin American and Caribbean Confederation of Religious (CLAR), the Pope spoke frankly about the need for reform in the Church and particularly in the Vatican bureaucracy. A report on the Pope’s remarks, furnished by one of the CLAR representatives who spoke with the Pontiff, has appeared on a Chilean web site, Reflexion y Liberacion.

The Pope’s remarks, according to the CLAR correspondent, included an admission that “there is also a current of corruption” within the Roman Curia. “There is talk about a ‘gay lobby,’ and it’s true, that exists,” the Pope continued.

How the Supreme Court Gave Us Gosnell

Because the Justices foolishly believed that abortion had few risks, and that abortion providers should have complete discretion to decide how to perform abortions in the first trimester, the Justices said that state and local officials could not regulate them in the first trimester. The Justices prohibited state health and safety regulations for abortion clinics in the first trimester of pregnancy when 90 percent of abortions are performed.

In the years following Roe, the Court reinforced its prior ruling and rejected appeals from public health officials who wanted to enforce health and safety regulations for clinics in Illinois, Indiana, and Florida.

The Supreme Court then empowered the federal courts and abortion industry lawyers to thwart every effort by state legislators and public health officials to monitor health and safety conditions at facilities performing abortions. Back-alley abortionists could challenge any regulation as an “unconstitutional burden” to a “woman’s right to choose” abortion.

Pope (perhaps unwittingly) defines the main reason for the failures of the compromised post-Vatican II Church

keeprightwrong

“Hypocrisy is the very language of corruption. And when Jesus speaks to his disciples, he says: ‘let your language be,’ Yes, yes! No, no ‘. Hypocrisy is not a language of truth, because the truth is never given alone. Never! It is always given with love! There is no truth without love. Love is the first truth. If there is no love, there is no truth. They want a truth enslaved to their interests. There is a love, of sorts: it is love of self, love for oneself. That narcissist idolatry that leads them to betray others, that leads them to abuse of trust. “

Pope Francis continued, what looks like a “persuasive language,” instead leads to “errors, to lies.” Then with a hint of irony, he noted that those who now approached Jesus and “seem so amiable in their language, are the same people who will go to fetch him on Thursday evening in the Garden of Olives, and will bring him to Pilate on Friday.” Instead, Jesus asks exactly the opposite of those who follow him, a language of “yes is yes, no is no,” a “language of truth and love”
