Saint Pope Benedict XVI?

Santo Subito! (Sainthood now!)

Pope Benedict’s resignation presents the Catholic Church with an opportunity that is almost without precedent. So why wait for death to declare the man a saint, when we can have a living saint … right here and right now … working to help resolve all the various problems of the modern world?

All of this can be done simultaneously, with the election of the new Pope.

First … let’s get the new Pope elected. Then … let’s get that new Pope to declare Benedict XVI a living saint … where Benedict might then function much as former President (Democratic Party Saint) William Jefferson Clinton did, during  Barack Obama’s recent campaign … but hopefully, at a somewhat higher level.

It can become a whole, new tradition … and the Catholic Church might never be the same, again.

Our Protestant brethren should have no problem with this, since they already consider every Christian to be a saint. Nor should our elder brothers in faith have any difficulties with it, since Benedict is already a proven and quite malleable friend.

To get the Muslims on board, we can publish a story in L’Osservatore Romano about Benedict’s mystical night journeys, riding a white horse, regularly traveling from St. Peter’s Basilica, up to heaven, and back. Any good Muslim will tell you that saints and prophets are known to do stuff like that!

Solidly traditional Catholics may also find this hard to swallow … and I admit that it does have a vaguely familiar “ring” to it … but I say … if you’re going to break the mold … then bust it all to hell! Look at how well it worked for the the former Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger and the Catholic Church, after Vatican II. All the more reason to proceed with the greatest haste!

A living saint with all the resources of the universal Church at his disposal, complete with current Facebook and Twitter accounts, but with none of the onerous, day to day responsibilities. Even President Barack Obama and his false prophet, David Axelrod, can’t top that!

Secretary Sebelius will be blamed for the Catholic Church/HHS Mandate debacle and will step down.

Political Prediction by Doug Lawrence:

In the wake of over 40 coordinated federal lawsuits by various Catholic organizations, including the University of  Notre Dame, Barack “the Campaigner” Obama will apologize for Secretary Sebelius’ lack of due diligence in formulating the HHS contraception/abortion mandate and the subsequent “compromise” … accept her resignation … and then happily carry on with his campaign.

David Axelrod will tell Obama how and precisely when to do this.

Kathleen Sebelius will shortly turn up as the new president of NARAL Pro-Death America.

Mitt Romney’s response will be to smile awkwardly and apologize for something, too.

G8 Summit change of venue was a purely political move, in this election year

by Doug Lawrence

The liberal Main Stream Media are baffled! Why would President Barack Obama suddenly decide to move the G8 Summit to Camp David, from his native Chicago?

Was it the Iranians? Al Qaeda? Has Osama Bin Laden threatened to come back from the dead and haunt the streets of Chicago? Did Mayor Rahm suddenly lose his nerve? Has Mrs. Obama scheduled another exotic vacation?

Heck no! It’s basic politics 101 … and if David Axelrod had let things go on much longer, President Obama might well have ended up looking like the late Mayor Daley, at the 1968 Democratic convention, when Chicago police clashed violently in the streets with demonstrators, as the whole world looked on.

A long chain of circumstances virtually guaranteed election disaster for Barack Obama if the G8 venue wasn’t changed:

Chicago is President Barack Obama’s home town.

Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel and President Barack Obama have long been (politically) joined at the hip.

President Obama would necessarily be present in Chicago for the G8 Summit.

The Occupy Wall Street protesters are widely believed to be part of the Obama/Axelrod/Democratic Party political apparatus.

Any police action against the demonstrators while Obama was in town would reflect very badly on him, further weakening his base. If things got violent, President Obama could end up looking much like one of those Arab dictators!

There’s no telling how any or all of this would “play” on TV, even with the cooperation of the liberal media.

Better to move the Summit to Camp David and eliminate nearly all the uncertainties and political risks … especially during this election year. This is a real “no-brainer” … and one can only wonder why things weren’t moved, even sooner!

But the NATO Summit is still scheduled to be held in Chicago. Won’t that pose the same problems for our illustrious president?

Hardly! Our fearless leader will be a thousand miles away, his time and attention taken up with critical affairs of state. Emanuel alone will be responsible for the NATO Summit. Not the President!

David Axelrod: Master of “the big lie.”

…the (Obama) administration didn’t intend to “abridge anyone’s religious freedom” with its regulation requiring church-affiliated employers to cover birth control for their workers.

Rosencrantz (Emanuel) and Guildenstern (Axelrod) – Obama’s comic relief?

axelrod-emanuel-jpeg

Just as the original Rosencrantz and Guildenstern were comedic in Shakespeare’s “Hamlet” and Stoppard’s play, the cast of Emanuel and Axelrod is ridiculous in real life.

Vendettas by the White House can never work. They just demean the perpetrators.

Let’s face it, Obama’s time has come and passed. By 2012 he’ll be returning to his Hyde Park mansion he bought with the help of Tony Rezko… and R & G will be sprung lose to rebuild their incomes and nurture another huckster-maybe this time a physically disabled self-professed gay Hispanic nun from Alabama who will be ripe for their collaborative promotion.

I can just hear Katie Couric exclaim when she meets their new client: Wheeeeee!

I just got an email from David Axelrod at the White House

I just got en email from David Axelrod, at the White House.  It seems that some people don’t believe some of the things that the Obama administration would like us to believe. To wit:

  • CEA Chair Christina Romer details how health insurance reform will impact small businesses.
  • Domestic Policy Council Director Melody Barnes tackles a nasty rumor about euthanasia and clearly describes how reform helps families.
  • Matt Flavin, the White House’s Director of Veterans and Wounded Warrior Policy, clears the air about Veteran’s benefits.
  • Kavita Patel, M.D., a doctor serving in the White House’s Office of Public Engagement, explains that health care rationing is happening right now and how reform gives control back to patients and doctors.
  • Bob Kocher, M.D., a doctor serving on the National Economic Council, debunks the myth that health insurance reform will be financed by cutting Medicare benefits.

Christina Romer fails to mention that the new health bill will make small businesses pay for a program that they do not have the money to afford. In fact, small business will probably be the group most most negatively affected by the health bill … at least financially.

Melody Barnes asks us to assume that the government will act honorably to preserve and protect life at all stages, when the government already fails (miserably and intentionally) to do so, now.

Matt Flavin has the audacity to speak about veteran’s benefits, while the government has been rationing care, denying necessary procedures, and making veterans wait, wait, and wait some more, while lobbying to make veterans PAY for their benefits.

Kavita Patel, M.D.does indeed explain that health care rationing is occurring right now. Unfortunately, the good doctor fails miserably to give us any hope that things won’t get much, much worse under a government program … especially in light of the existing massive financial problems with Medicare and Social Security that have as yet never been either addressed or resolved.

Bob Kocher, M.D.  does a  nice job explaining why Medicare benefit cuts will not be used to finance the new health plan, but fails to mention that EVERY tax payer will be forced to pay much, much more, to cover the cost.

David, please ask President Obama to give us a good bill, instead of propaganda!
