All About Eve: Satan quickly surmised that women are the key to ultimate human potential.

by Doug Lawrence

Nowhere in scripture do we read of Satan tempting Adam at any time, prior to the existence of Eve.

In fact, nowhere in scripture do we read of Satan directly tempting Adam, at all. All we can do is a bit of exegesis, based on the fact that Jesus Christ,  “The New Adam” – was tempted by Satan – and based on that, we can assume that Adam was tempted, as well.

But I digress!

The point is … humanity was going nowhere until God created Eve. Only then did the possibility exist of an entire race of human beings – numbering greater than the stars in the heavens and the sands on the sea shore (Genesis 22:17) and only then did Satan make his move: first, on Eve. Then, Eve quite easily enlisted Adam in their offense.

Consequently, mankind soon found himself evicted from Eden, in addition to being  permanently and hopelessly enslaved to Satan, sin and death. If not for the saving work of Jesus Christ, our Holy Redeemer, it would have remained so, for an eternity.

Satan continues to concentrate on Eve’s “daughters – sisters” to this very day. And except for the superabundantly graced, totally sinless Blessed Virgin Mary, “The New Eve” – most women tend to remain extraordinarily easy marks! I trust it is unnecessary to name names and cite specifics.

Not that men – except for Our Bless Lord, Jesus Christ – are any better. Most are just bold, recidivist sinners of a different gender. And life goes on.

Get wisdom, because it is better than gold:
and purchase prudence, for it is more precious than silver.
The path of the just departs from evil:
he that keeps his soul keeps his way.
Pride goes before destruction:
and the spirit is lifted up before a fall.
 (Proverbs 16:16-18)

Something to think about, this Advent!

If you want to know what is happening to us now, all you have to do is to read the Old Testament and see what God did FOR those who obeyed Him, and TO those who refused to obey Him.

If you want to know what is happening to us now, all you have to do is to read the Old Testament and see what God did FOR those who obeyed Him, and TO those who refused to obey Him. The Old Testament is full of verses that illustrate both. Here is just one example:

Sir 16:7 In the congregation of sinners a fire shall be kindled, and in an unbelieving nation wrath shall flame out.
Sir 16:8 The ancient giants did not obtain pardon for their sins, who were destroyed trusting to their own strength:
Sir 16:9 And he spared not the place where Lot sojourned, but abhorred them for the pride of their word.
Sir 16:10 He had not pity on them, destroying the whole nation that extolled themselves in their sins.
Sir 16:11 So did he with the six hundred thousand footmen, who were gathered together in the hardness of their heart: and if one had been stiffnecked, it is a wonder if he had escaped unpunished:

Verses 7 and 10 of the Book of Sirach (Ecclesiasticus) tell it all.

Essential Marxist/Socialist concepts: Homosexual marriage, abortion, easy divorce, government control of schools, destruction of the family.

September 11, 2013 (LifeSiteNews.com) – A publication of the international socialist movement has explicitly stated it is promoting abortion and gay “marriage” as part of a multi-pronged campaign to “replace global capitalism” with Marxism.

The admission came on Monday in an article entitled “How Can We Change the World?” by Todd Chretien in the Socialist Worker, which is published by the International Socialist Organization. The ISO proudly “stands in the tradition of revolutionary socialists Karl Marx, V.I. Lenin, and Leon Trotsky.”

The article was putatively about the 50th anniversary of Martin Luther King Jr.’s March on Washington. However, it hailed the socially liberal views of young people, women, and minorities – the same groups President Obama appealed to during the 2010 and 2012 campaigns.

A Masonic Blueprint for the Subversion of The Catholic Church

destroy_church

FEW Catholics know of The Permanent Instruction of the Alta Vendita, a secret document written in the early 19th century that mapped out a blueprint for the subversion of the Catholic Church.

The Alta Vendita was the highest lodge of the Carbonari, an Italian secret society with links to Freemasonry and which, along with Freemasonry, was condemned by the Catholic Church.

Fr. E. Cahill, S.J. in his book Freemasonry and the Anti-Christian Movement states that the Alta Vendita was “commonly supposed to have been at the time the governing centre of European Freemasonry.”

The Carbonari were most active in Italy and France. In his book Athanasius and the Church of Our Time, Bishop Rudolph Graber quoted a Freemason who declared that “the goal [of Freemasonry] is no longer the destruction of the Church, but to make use of it by infiltrating it.”

Muslim’s frustration with Egyptian government leads to the widespread destruction of Christian churches and institutions

A wave of devastating violence swept through Egypt Wednesday as the government attempted to disband the supporters of ousted president Mohamed Morsi from their sit-ins.  According to the Associated Press,638 people have now been confirmed killed, and nearly 4,000 are injured.

The fighting is far from limited to the Islamists and the military, however. Since Wednesday’s violence began, there have also been a wave of attacks on churches and Christian institutions.

The danger of subscribing to the falacious “prosperity” Gospel

biblecash

Greed is often downplayed today where accumulation and ostentatious display of wealth is often celebrated.  Great rooms with cathedral ceilings, 72″ flat screen TVs and even private home theaters (entertainment centers), fancy cars etc., are shamelessly flaunted.

But greed is at the root of a lot of evils and suffering. Scripture says,

For we brought nothing into the world, and we cannot take anything out of the world; but if we have food and clothing, with these we shall be content. But those who desire to be rich fall into temptation, into a snare, into many senseless and hurtful desires that plunge men into ruin and destruction. For the love of money is the root of all evils; it is through this craving that some have wandered away from the faith and pierced their hearts with many pangs. (1 Tim 6:7-10)

Henry Morgentaler: The holocaust survivor who helped inflict the holocaust of abortion on Canada, dead at age 90.

He didn’t mind being hated and to a certain extent, didn’t actually notice it. Politicians, for example, have to develop a rhino hide against criticism, but Henry never did because he was indifferent to the opinions of people he didn’t respect. He always had his pit crew, a women’s rights team that regularly meets to celebrate the anniversary of that stunning 1988 Supreme Court of Canada decision on abortion. But he also had a distance, the dubious gift of knowing that there was nothing worse that life could throw at him.

“I knew I could not save my mother [in Auschwitz in 1944]. But I could save other mothers,” he told me for a 2003 Globe and Mail profile. “It was an unconscious thought. It became almost like a command. If I help women to have babies at a time when they can give love and affection, they will not grow up to be rapists or murderers. They will not build concentration camps.”

Shocking undercover video: How abortion is all about killing “it”.

abortion_photo

An 8-minute Live Action undercover video about killing “it”.

How they won’t show you the ultrasound photos of “it”.

How “it” is often already 6-months (24 weeks) along
and usually capable of living outside the womb.

How “it” must be killed while still inside the mother’s womb
or legally … “it’s” murder.

How they lie about “it” not being a real baby.

How poison “laminaria sticks” will be inserted into the mother,
so “it” might be quickly and conveniently killed.

How “it” will be chopped up, while still inside the womb.

How they lie about “it” not being able to feel pain
as “it” is systematically dismembered.

How “it” will be sucked out – piece by little piece.

How “it” will be placed inside a bottle and sent to a lab.

How the special liquid in the bottle
will make certain “it” is completely and totally dead.

How “it” will be disposed of as medical waste … or used for “parts”.

How they don’t inform the mother about her risks
when aborting “it”.

How they lie about the mother finally being through with “it”.

But wait … there’s more!

A verse by verse explanation of Matthew 24 – Christ’s prophecy about the 70 A.D. destruction of Jerusalem by the Romans

Jerusalem encircled by the Romans – Pentecost 70 A.D.

In Matthew chapter twenty-four [v.3] The disciples came unto him privately, and asked Christ TWO different questions:

1)when shall these things be? [the destruction of the Temple of Jerusalem prophesied in Matt. 24:2]

2) what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?

And Jesus answered, starting with the first question, saying to them, “Take heed that no man deceive you”[Matt 24:4]. When we compare the the words of Christ’s prophecy to the History of the distraction of the Temple, we note the incredible accuracy of Christ’s words.

Vatican II: A moment of grace … followed by fifty years of chaos.

Two famous 1960’s era radicals

The Pope remembered the great sight of over 3,000 bishops from around the world “gathered under the guidance of the Successor of the Apostle Peter” at “the school of the Holy Spirit, the true driving force of the Council.” At few other times, he suggested, have people been able to “almost concretely ‘touch’ the universality of the Church.”

He also recalled the “the surprise of the small group of cardinals” who were present at the Roman basilica of St. Paul Outside the Walls when Pope John XXIII announced the convening of the Second Vatican Council in January 1959. Unlike the previous general councils of the Church, there “were no particular errors of faith to correct or condemn,” nor were there “specific issues of doctrine or discipline to be clarified,” Pope Benedict explained.

The reason for the Council, Benedict XVI said, was spelled out by Pope John in his opening speech when he stated that “faith had to speak in a ‘renewed,’ more incisive way” in a rapidly changing world, while “keeping its perennial contents” and “without giving in or compromising.”

Link

Editor’s note: How’s that totally unnecessary change working out for everyone, some 50 years after the fact? Evidently, the good Pope John XXIII never heard the phrase, “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it!” All this, while Pope Benedict, the old revolutionary, continues to survey the massive destruction left in the Council’s wake.

Let’s quit blaming the Holy Spirit for this unparalleled debacle and failure, since that would be blasphemy. It is the church hierarchy, caught up in the obtuse spirit of the age, which is primarily responsible for the damage. And that includes ALL of the recent Popes.

“Change” came to the Vatican about 45 years before Barack Obama brought “change” to America

According to Michael Davies and those in the know, a number of “suspect theologians” hijacked the opening session of Vatican II by seizing control of its drafting commissions, whereupon they scrapped Pope John’s plan for the Council and proceeded to draft a new agenda of their own. It was this illicit intervention that gave birth to the conciliar reform, which was novel, and not continuous.

Hence, the problem with Vatican II did not lie in the misinterpretation of its documents, but the problem lied in the documents themselves which, under a certain appearance of orthodoxy, proposed destructive changes to the Church. Subtle half-truths and ambiguities were woven into the documents by a coterie of renowned modernist theologians, including Cheno, Kung, Schillebeeckx, Fring, Danielou, Rahner, de Lubac and others whose teachings had formerly been condemned or censured under Pius XII.

They in turn were assisted by six Protestant delegates and others who were invited to the Council as consultants on matters of liturgy and doctrine (Michael Davies, Pope John’s Council, 1977). Augustine Cardinal Bea, who headed the Secretariat for the Promotion of Christian Unity, boasted of the contribution made by these delegates in formulating the Council’s decree on Ecumenism, saying, “I do not hesitate to assert that they have contributed in a decisive way to bringing about this result.”

How Islam Killed Greco-Roman Civilization

The Belgian historian Henri Pirenne in his work Mohammed and Charlemagne, published posthumously in 1937, suggested that Islam and the Arab conquests constituted the real dividing line between the civilization of Greco-Roman Antiquity and that of medieval Europe. Moreover, Islamic raids in the Mediterranean partially cut Europeans off from their Classical roots. Scott supports this hypothesis but goes even further than Pirenne — who focused on Europe — by showing that the Arab conquests and Islamic repression largely destroyed Greco-Roman Classical civilization in North Africa and parts of the Middle East, which were more urbanized than Europe.

In short, rather than preserving the Classical heritage, as their apologists like to claim, Arabs and Muslims did more than anybody else to wipe out Greco-Roman civilization. The modest contributions they made by preserving certain Greek texts through Arabic translations cannot in any way make up for this massive wave of destruction.

How the Chinese communists destroyed the Catholic Church in Shanghai

While working in the Shanghai Municipal Archives, Father Mariani discovered newly de-classified dossiers that detailed the party’s campaign against Catholics and how the communists dismantled the Church in Shanghai.

Realizing that he had a real treasure in his hands, he asked the archivists if he could have copies of the material; incredibly, they said, “Yes.”

“Then things got interesting,” Father Mariani recalled in a recent interview.

Psycho babe claims she “loves” abortion … and you should too!

Rather than trying to cozy up to the forced-birth camp, women who value their freedom should be proud to say that they like abortion. In fact, they should venerate it whole-heartedly. Abortion is our last refuge, the one final, definitive instrument that secures our bodily autonomy. What’s not to love?

Link

Editor’s note: The Bible is quite often literally true … as well as prophetic.

(2 Timothy 3:1-7)

This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.

For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with diverse lusts, Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

Why the “Spirit” of Vatican II wasn’t the Holy Spirit

But what exactly was the “etiology” of the new “spirit”?

The post-council spirit. . . .intends to annihilate all the forms which try to establish the distinction between the sacred and the profane.

Let us not forget something rather comical – that these destructions have operated in the name of a spirit of community, although, as can be seen, nothing has come of this effort but the disappearance of mutual relations, the destruction of all the cohesion among the ordered elements.

Editor’s note: The “Spirit” of Vatican II is … in terms the Church prefers to use … “seriously disordered”.

One would think that 1900+ years of Catholic Church Tradition would have been prized, as something that gives a reasonable degree of dependability, along with solidity and stability to the Body of Christ. Which it truly does.

Instead, we have pearls cast before swine, by those who were supposed to be acting as shepherds!

A Nation That Honors Sin Has A Dismal Future

Observe how our leaders generally expect and require us to approve of homosexuality, abortion, fornication, moral relativism, mass immigration and multiculturalism that are Balkanizing America, demonization and demotion of whites, rebellion against proper authority, and all the other sins loved by the Left.

Disapproving of these sins is only permitted in private; our leaders want us publically to approve of and even celebrate much that is evil, perverted and destructively foolish.

We must, in other words, approve of sin.   Not all sins, to be sure, but many that no previous society in history has honored.  It is the institutionalization — the mandating — of this approval that is the problem. For what society’s authorities teach, most people believe. And people act in accordance with their beliefs. If sin is held to be good, more sin will be committed, leading to more destruction.

What Constitutes Authentic Catholic Tradition?

by Doug Lawrence

People often have a hard time defining precisely what constitutes authentic Catholic Tradition.

To put it simply, authentic Tradition is the means by which the Holy Spirit infallibly guides the Catholic Church, from age to age.

Catholic Tradition is the collective result of all the grace, love, wisdom, discipline and self-sacrifice of Jesus, Mary, St. Joseph, the Apostles, and every other truly faithful Catholic who ever lived … or ever will live … not forgetting to include the contributions of the Old Testament Prophets, Priests, Patriarchs and Matriarchs, as well.

Through that collective, God inspired Tradition, the Catholic Church has been successfully preserved … in spite of constant scandal and strife … for the purpose of the salvation of every person, of every generation.

With Pentecost Sunday coming up, it’s good to reflect on such things … especially in light of certain “novel” teachings by the post-Vatican II popes and bishops … teachings which often had no basis at all in Catholic Tradition … or were actually contrary to that which the Catholic Church had always and everywhere, believed and practiced … and which (now) seem to be on the way to being (at least partially) corrected.

It’s also important to note that, due to the “Spirit of Vatican II”, “Change Came to the Vatican” some 45 years before “Change Came To America”.

We Catholics benefit immensely from almost 2000 years of authentic Church Tradition, and now we know (from painful experience) that liberal policies and politics can be just as damaging and destructive to a church as they can be to a nation.

That should be a lesson for all of us … whether we call ourselves liberal or conservative.

Where, oh where, have the real Catholics gone?

One of the worst mistakes American Catholicism ever made was the scrapping in the 1950s, 1960s, and 1970s of the subculture that had served it well up to that time. That was the era of the great flight from what Catholic intellectuals snobbishly called the “Catholic ghetto.” Yes, the subculture as it then existed did need updating and renewal. But instead of that, what we got was a foolish, self-imposed dismantling — the secularization of Catholic colleges and universities, the deliberate withering of Catholic organizations — driven largely by the craving of academic and religious elitists to be trendy and in step with the times.

To a great extent, ecclesiastical officialdom went along with it. “When I was growing up,” a friend recalls, “I watched the Legion of Mary and other local Catholic organizations struggling for lack of interest by the priests and chancery office staff who considered them anachronisms. Even as a young man, I saw the sadness and frustration in the faces of many of the older members, especially as nothing was being offered as a replacement.”
