Forty Days for Life has been busy lately…

Elizabeth in Madison says it looks like Planned Parenthood is starting to get irritated. For one thing, a pregnancy help center has opened right across the street — and women are taking note.

Planned Parenthood even put up a sign that says “health center entrance” next to their driveway, suggesting that women were going to the pregnancy help center by mistake.

Planned Parenthood also called the police because one of the vigil participants, a disabled veteran, was sitting in a lawn chair in the public right-of-way. Elizabeth said it appeared that “the police were annoyed by the call and supportive of his right to be there. So praise God for the persecution!”

Powerfully contending with Satan, on the streets of Denver Colorado

DENVER, CO, April 23, 2012 ( – Prayerbooks, rosaries, and pro-life pamphlets are a common sight outside Planned Parenthood’s massive facility in downtown Denver, but this year, local organizers of this spring’s Forty Days for Life campaign decided that one last piece was missing to bring the light of Christ to the country’s second largest abortion facility: the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass.

The idea to celebrate the Catholic Mass in front of Planned Parenthood came from Fr. Joseph Hearty, Assistant Pastor at Our Lady of Mount Carmel in nearby Littleton, who felt that it was time to “pull out the big guns.” It was, he told LifeSiteNews, an inspiration from the Holy Spirit.

“If we can pray the rosary, why not offer the Mass, why not use the Mass and the Eucharist as a means of fighting this tragedy,” he said. “Why not use the most powerful means that we have?”

Pro-Life Advocates Prepare Fall “40 Days for Life” Campaign Against Abortion

Average Americans from all walks of life participate in the prayerful pro-life event.

“These are ordinary people with extraordinary faith and courage who were exactly where you are — praying about what God wanted them to do,” he said. “They are from Indiana, Florida, Alabama, New York, Connecticut, California, Louisiana and Canada. They took a leap of faith to lead local 40 Days for Life campaigns.”

The Spring 40 Days for Life campaign saw a milestone reached as organizers said they now know of more than 2,500 babies saved from abortion during these campaigns.

“The exact total is currently 2,536. We’re aware of numerous sets of twins — and at least one set of triplets — included in that count,” organizer David Bereit said. “Not only have 2,536 babies been spared from abortion, but the impact was also felt on each of their mothers and fathers.”

News from the Trenches

(Editor’s Note: The following items are snapshots of activity in California cities during the recently concluded 40 Days for Life campaign outside abortion facilities.)

Alejandra in Orange County passed along this amazing report of how one little girl’s faith helped to save the life of a baby: “Tim came to me with his daughter and told me that his little girl (about 4 years old) told him before he went to Planned Parenthood, ‘Take this plate of cookies and give it to a Mommy. Tell her to keep them so that she can give them to her baby when he is born.’

“When Tim approached one of the women that he talked to last Saturday morning, he told her the message of his little daughter. The woman broke into tears and the thought of not being able to give her baby the plate of cookies that Tim’s daughter sent her made her
decide to keep her baby!”
