A good first step: YMCA Loses $60,000 Grant From Catholic Church After Refusing To Stop Working With Homosexual Marriage Group

Editor’s note: It’s about time the Catholic Church stopped supporting immoral and anti-Catholic causes, in the name of charity. As usual, those who have been accepting the money demand that “no strings” be attached. Then they agonizingly cry out to the world when the Church rightly refuses to go along. In this case, the issue was homosexual marriage.

The annual CCHD 2nd collection is coming up soon. Let’s do our part to totally eliminate these types of problems by finally eliminating all donations to the CCHD (Catholic Campaign for Human Development).

Better yet, organize your friends, family and local parishioners in order to become your very own “Catholic Charity” and fund your own favorite causes. Then you will have no more worries about glad-handed, bleeding heart, faux-Catholic  liberals (and their disinterested and/or complicit local bishops) handing your hard earned money over to anti-Catholic organizations, doing immoral things – something which has (unfortunately) been happening, throughout the United States, for (at least) the last fifty years!

The real meaning of the term “equality” – which is the stated objective of radical Socialist/Democratic politics – is that all “men” are equally God.

WASHINGTON — Vice President Joe Biden is praising Jewish leaders  for helping change American attitudes about gay marriage and other issues.

Jewish naturalism’s counterfeit messiahs vs. the Kingship of Jesus Christ

Editor’s note: Biden’s comments show how far he is “in the tank” for evil and how little he actually understands or genuinely acknowledges about the Catholic faith – the one, true faith.

Unfortunately, the same could be said about most Catholic politicians – as well as many of today’s Catholic prelates.

Cardinal George: “Civil laws that establish ‘same-sex marriage’ create a legal fiction.”

Chicago’s Cardinal Francis George and his six auxiliary bishops officially entered Illinois’ gay marriage fray Tuesday, issuing a letter that urges parishioners to contact state legislators and voice opposition to a legalization bill that could face a vote this week.

A movement and cause fueled by rage and suppressed self hatred.

Those who follow the news in Britain will be aware that the Prime Minister is intent on pushing through legislation that allows gay marriage to take place in churches. Full assurances are being given that no one will be forced to marry homosexuals. They are simply allowing it to take place if that is what people want. Uh huh.

Let’s try to remember how this has all unfolded. I lived in England. I remember. The first step was the legalization of homosexual civil unions. “This is not marriage!” the modernizers told us. “This is simply a matter of civil rights and granting homosexual people the same legal protections and rights as heterosexual married people. This is not something which can happen in church. It is not marriage.”

Nevertheless, when homosexual people had their “civil partnerships” in registry offices many of them found sympathetic Anglican vicars, rabbis and Methodists who were happy to conduct informal “blessings” of the civil partnerships.

Just remember, when they speak of diversity they don’t mean it.

Angela McCaskill is “Chief Diversity Officer” at Gallaudet University in Washington DC. She was at church one Sunday, and requested to sign the petition that would permit the voters of Maryland to vote on the issue of gay “marriage.” She signed the petition and says she did so because she favors democracy and allowing citizens to vote on such controversial issues, as opposed to having legislatures and courts force so-called “gay marriage” on the populace. (More HERE)

But the administrators at Gallaudet University consider her signing of the petition to be unacceptable. Apparently, as “Chief Diversity Officer,” they don’t consider her kind of diversity the right kind of diversity.

New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo: Like father, like son.

“It’s troubling for me as a Catholic to be at odds with the church,” he began, before dissolving into a wry laugh. “Having said that, it seems that my entire political life, the tension with the church has come up again and again.”

Just as his father seized a social issue and established himself in opposition to the church with his Notre Dame speech on abortion, now the son has seized a social issue and established himself in opposition to the church with gay marriage.

See what Father Z has to say about it

Diaz: The problem with the Christians and pastors, is that they pray too much and act too little.

“Gov. Cuomo, when he was running, said if I get elected, I will push for gay marriage. But pastors and brothers and sisters campaigned for him and voted for him. So we cannot fully blame Cuomo,” said Diaz.

“Pastors and religious leaders are supposed to remember that we are supposed to be Christians before being Democrats or being Republicans. Our responsibility is with Jesus and not with Democratic Party or Republican Party.”

He added that party affiliation is always secondary to one’s Christian faith in political decisions. Regardless of whether a political candidate is Republican or Democrat, Christians should support and vote for whomever shares their values.

We lost the New York gay ‘marriage’ battle decades ago

The Catholic Church has been largely missing in action since the death of Cardinal O’Connor. In the fight over Bill 371, there was one priest who showed to give testimony to the New York City Council, Father Peter Pilsner. No religious brothers or sisters. At a rally in Harlem over the bill, there were a few priests who turned out, and that was it. There was no mention of the bill by any bishops in Brooklyn, New York, or Rockville Centre, in the five months of fighting, until a joint statement by Bishop DiMarzio of Brooklyn, and Archbishop Dolan the night before the City Council vote.

To their credit, those missing in action over Bill 371 turned out to fight the gay marriage proposal. However, it was to little, too late. Catholic clergy have been loathe to engage these issues from the pulpit. “Too political,” is the mantra. It wasn’t too political for the Holy Spirit and His partner, Blessed John Paul II, who gave us all the tools we need to reclaim an authentic Christian civilization. Yet, I have never heard a priest discuss any of JP II’s teaching in any substantive manner from the pulpit, or in any adult education program. The disconnect has been breathtaking.

Gay Marriage and the End of Christian Civilization

Back in the 90s when Fr. Paul Marx, founder of HLI, was asked his opinion about the efforts to legalize “same-sex unions” he commented in his usual forthright fashion, “When they do that,” he said, “it’s the end.” He meant “the end” of the Christian civilization whose values used to form the basis of American common life. Fr. Marx, in a prophetic sense, saw rightly that a society cannot survive the perverse manipulation of the very structure of reality that God Himself has revealed to us, one very fundamental element of which is the institution of marriage. When we allow that to be changed – “It’s the end.”

In 2009, 52% of the voting population in California endorsed Proposition 8 which ratified the constitutional protection of marriage as between a man and a woman. One might argue that even 52% was shockingly low on something so important, but the people won that battle despite the veritable war of the homosexual militants to sink that Proposition. In fact, Christian decency won and the structure of reality stayed intact, at least in this aspect of law in California, until this week when a single judge just nullified 7 million votes and the will of the people and lifted the “ban” on gay marriage. There was rejoicing in Sodom on the Bay, but how sad for our nation and even for our poor, misguided world that will weaken in its opposition to the homosexual lifestyle as a result of this decision.

So why, you ask, is gay marriage wrong? Let me count the ways.

First and foremost is because it violates the revealed Will of God as seen in Scripture. There are few things as clear in God’s revelation as the sacred institution of marriage between a man and a woman. From Genesis 1 (the marriage of Adam and Eve) to Revelation 21 (the marriage of Christ the Lamb with His Bride the Church) God has had only one model of marriage, and it is not gay marriage. Even polygamy and divorce was done away with in the Christian Church, as Our Lord reminded all of the essence of marriage as it was “in the beginning.” This Christian view of marriage became the norm of Western society and its most basic societal unit, undoubtedly allowing the West to flourish.

A close second to this is that gay marriage distorts the very concept of parenting as well as marriage. Even if you overlook the fact that gay marriage is by definition sterile, every child of a gay marriage has to be adopted or artificially inseminated, and that in itself is a violation of the whole concept of family. In the 80s, the Vatican actually said that the adoption of children by homosexuals “does violence” to the child. Pretty strong language, but true nonetheless. In its simplest terms, kids need a mom and a dad, and are forever stigmatized by being the child of a gay marriage. Kids model their lives, their concept of family, their morals and oftentimes their whole worldview on their parents’ attitudes and values. These kids get a totally distorted view of all these basics.

Third but by no means the last reason, all of society suffers because of the public endorsement of an intrinsically disordered lifestyle and practice. Yes, “disordered” is what our Church calls both the homosexual orientation and lifestyle, and gay marriage simply ratifies that disorder on a social level. In recent debates, the term “human right” to describe gay marriage and the charge that anyone who stands against it is guilty of “discrimination” are examples of these fundamental distortions. Fr. Marx was right: a society cannot long survive this kind of violence done to its basic values, and history surely shows many societies like Ancient Greece, whose rapid decline was preceded by the proliferation of the gay lifestyle and its public acceptance.

While we respect all people as they are, we don’t have to respect such a wholesale assault on everything that is sacred to us and good for our society; no, in fact, we must fight against it with our very lives. The question is not whether or not we can win the battle; the question is whether we will join it. Will we accept the challenge to defend the sacred or not? We are called to be faithful and obedient to the Plan of God for our world, and within that, God will bring forth the victory. There is no doubt that, if it is not already there, gay marriage will be coming to your state soon. If we don’t fight it, our souls, our families and basically, our very civilization, will find themselves at “the end” of the line in very short order.

Sincerely,

Rev. Thomas J. Euteneuer,
President, Human Life International

Knights of Columbus refuse to allow suspension of members who promote abortion, gay marriage

In a letter to the Massachusetts K of C leadership, Marrella declared that “a subordinate council may not impose fraternal discipline with respect to a public figure’s official actions on matters pertaining to faith and morals. Rather, any such discipline must be made by or at the direction of the Supreme Board of Directors.”

“We recognize that some of our members who are public figures may use their public position to advocate or support policy positions that are contrary to the teachings of the Catholic Church on matters of faith and morals,” Marrella conceded in his letter. He went on to admit that such public advocacy “contradicts the Catholic identity and mission of the Order.”

Nevertheless, the top legal official of the K of C said that any action taken against K of C members who are public figures would “necessarily affect the entire Order.” For that reason, he said, any disciplinary action should be taken by the group’s top leadership.

Marrella went on to say that the K of C would not go further than the American bishops in taking public action against members whose public stands conflict with Church moral teachings. “If the public figure’s bishop has not excommunicated him for his public positions on issues relating to matters of faith and morals, it would be highly inappropriate for the Knights of Columbus to do so,” he wrote.

The Catholic Action League of Massachusetts, which had supported the proposed resolution at the state convention, decried the intervention by the top K of C office as an “abdication of responsibility.” C.J. Doyle, the executive director of the Catholic Action League, said: “This letter effectively kills any grassroots initiative within the Knights to address the scandal of pro-abortion pols in the Order.”

The Catholic Action League charged that the K of C’s refusal to take action against pro-abortion members would allow the continuation of a public scandal. “In the 37 years since Roe v. Wade, the Supreme Board of Directors has never, to public knowledge, removed a single pro-abortion political figure from the Knights of Columbus,” Doyle noted. “In Massachusetts, a majority of Knights serving in the Legislature voted in 2007 against a constitutional amendment restoring traditional marriage, and voted in 2005 for a law which compels Catholic hospitals to distribute the so-called morning-after pill to rape victims.”

Editor’s note: It should be noted that being excommunicated from the Catholic Church is a far different matter than being disciplined by or ejected from the Knights of Columbus. Excommunication can have a profound effect on one’s personal soul, while the Knights remain one of many Catholic organizations, in which membership remains essentially social, and purely optional.

The Knights collectively do much good work, have lots of political clout, and they also have the ability to write big checks, but when it comes to matters like this, they remain impotent, by choice.

It is the opinion/experience of this writer (who is also a member of the K of C) that qualifying for their life insurance products is more difficult than it ought to be, that the selection of insurance products offered is rather limited,  and that the price for K of C insurance tends to run substantially higher than the prices of other, virtually identical products, offered by similarly rated companies.

If anyone at the K of C wishes to provide proof to the contrary, I’ll be more than happy to publish it here.

Abortion, Gay ‘Marriage’ among the Most ‘Insidious and Dangerous’ Challenges: Pope

By Hilary White

FATIMA, Portugal, May 14, 2010 (LifeSiteNews.com) – In an address to assembled social and pastoral care workers in Fatima, Portugal yesterday, Pope Benedict identified abortion and the pressure for gay “marriage” as among the most “insidious and dangerous challenges that today confront the common good,” and expressed his “deep appreciation” for those who fight for the rights of the unborn.

Benedict hailed “all those social and pastoral initiatives” that combat the “socio-economic and cultural mechanisms which lead to abortion, and are openly concerned to defend life and to promote the reconciliation and healing of those harmed by the tragedy of abortion.”

These “initiatives aimed at protecting the essential and primary values of life, beginning at conception, and of the family based on the indissoluble marriage between a man and a woman, help to respond to some of today’s most insidious and dangerous threats to the common good.

“Such initiatives represent, alongside numerous other forms of commitment, essential elements in the building of the civilization of love.”

Why the Mainstream Media Hates the Catholic Church

Bill Donohue, one of the staunchest defenders of the Church in this country, fought back against this latest attack from the very first blow. The president of the Catholic League calls the New York Times story on Father Murphy the “last straw,” but no doubt there will be more to ignite Donohue’s flaming pen.

I asked him and a number of other experts a question: “Why do media like the New York Times and the Washington Post hate the Catholic Church and the pope? What’s the source of the animus?”

Donohue replied, “As I said in today’s New York Times op-ed page ad, it stems from three issues: abortion, gay marriage, and women’s ordination. So, when they can nail the Church on promiscuity, they love it. The goal is to weaken the moral authority of the Church so it won’t be as persuasive on issues like health care.”

Fred Barnes, executive editor of the Weekly Standard, agrees that the media want to weaken the Church. He echoes what his friend the late Bob Novak used to tell me about the mainstream media: It is “the most secular, liberal group in the country. The Catholic Church stands for everything you and I believe (though I’m not a Catholic) and for practically nothing the media likes. But the media cannot ignore the Catholic Church because it is so strong, popular, and enduring. That leaves the media one avenue of attack: Jump on any mistakes or scandals involving the Church and don’t let go.”

Welcome to Sodom on the Potomac!

Q: Why is the Catholic Church attempting to blackmail the Washington DC government over gay rights?

A: You have things backwards.

The Catholic Church has been saving the government huge sums of money by using public funds to administer programs for the homeless and the disadvantaged.

But the Church cannot and will not change its’ teachings to suit a corrupt government.

So if administering public funds means the Church has to change its’ teachings, than the Church must withdraw.

It’s really that simple.

What about so-called “gay marriage”? Why is that wrong?

gendersymbols

Q: What about so-called “gay marriage”? Why is that wrong?

A: First, with regards to individuals who have an exclusive or predominant sexual attraction to persons of the same sex, they, as with each and every human person, share the dignity of an individual for whom Jesus Christ the Son of God willingly laid down his life and died on the Cross.

Such individuals, our brothers and sisters who have a same sex attraction, “must be accepted with respect, compassion, and sensitivity. Every sign of unjust discrimination in their regard should be avoided. These persons are called to fulfill God’s will in their lives and, if they are Christians, to unite to the sacrifice of the Lord’s Cross the difficulties they may encounter.”6

As with every other human person, people who have a same sex attraction are called to be saints and to share in the eternal beatitude with the Holy Trinity through the practice of virtue (necessarily including chastity) and a sacramental life of following Jesus Christ in and through His Church.

As with any temptation, the inclination to homosexual acts is not sinful. However, the Church has always declared homosexual acts themselves to be “‘intrinsically disordered.’ They are contrary to the natural law. They close the sexual act to the gift of life. They do not proceed from a genuine affective and sexual complementarity. Under no circumstances can they be approved.”7 Thus, homosexual acts, are “sins gravely contrary to chastity,”8 and therefore, “all Catholics are obliged to oppose the legal recognition of homosexual unions.”9

In summary, “The Church teaches that respect for homosexual persons cannot lead in any way to approval of homosexual behaviour or to legal recognition of homosexual unions.”

This Catholic Q&A was furnished by Bishop Robert Morlino of the Madison, Wisconsin diocese.

Troubling words from Obama – who aspires to the Presidency of the United States and leadership of the free world.

Troubling words from Obama – who aspires to the Presidency of the United States and leadership of the free world.

Obama: Supports: “Freedom of Choice Act”. A bill that would invalidate virtually all state and federal limitations on abortion, including partial-birth abortion.

Obama: Opposes ban on partial birth abortion ban. He said he would re-instate this ban as president. (Partial Birth Abortion is used from the 5th month on, involves pulling a living baby feet-first out of the womb, except for the head, puncturing the skull and suctioning out the brain. The great majority of partial-birth abortions are performed on healthy babies of healthy mothers.)

Obama: Voted to block a bill that would have required an abortionist to notify at least one parent before performing an abortion on a minor girl from another state.

Obama: Voted 3 times against a bill in the Illinois State Senate that would have provided protection for babies who survive abortions equal to the protection received by babies who are spontaneously born prematurely.

From The National Catholic Register:
Jill Stanek, a Chicago nurse, described the practice of killing babies in what is now known as “live-birth abortion.” Illinois tried to stop the practice. But in 2002, as state legislator there, Obama voted against the Induced Infant Liability Act, which would have protected babies who were “accidentally” born alive during attempts to abort them.

“I could not bear the thought of this suffering child dying alone in a soiled utility room, so I cradled and rocked him for the 45 minutes that he lived,” Stanek told the U.S. Congress, describing one such case. “He was too weak to move very much, expending any energy he had trying to breathe. Toward the end he was so quiet that I couldn’t tell if he was still alive unless I held him up to the light to see if his heart was still beating through his chest wall.”

After Stanek’s testimony even N.Y. Democrat Jerrold Nadler, who says he is “as pro-choice as anybody on earth” supported and spoke in favor of the bill.

But for the abortion industry and Obama, opposing the right to life has meant uncompromising dedication to a counter-principle. For Obama, protecting the unstated principle “unwanted children do not have the right to life” is the only way abortion can remain legal.

That has led him to exclude another category of human being from the right to life: the unfit.

Terri Schiavo
In a recent debate, Obama said the vote he most regrets was his vote to save Terri Schiavo’s life. Her husband, Michael, wanted Terri dead, even though she was alert and responsive to nurses and family members. He had a new child with a new woman, and he wanted Terri dead.

When a judge granted his request, Congress and President Bush attempted to intervene to save her life, and not just to save her life, but to stop the dangerous precedent. They failed. Now Obama says they shouldn’t have tried. Thus, he started by rejecting the right to life of unwanted children and now rejects the right to life of an unwanted woman.”

Obama supports embryonic stem cell research — which is the deliberate killing of little innocent babies.

Obama supports cloning, another intrinsic evil.

Obama supports full civil unions that give same-sex couples equal legal rights and privileges as married couples. Civil unions is one step closer to homosexual “marriage”. Homosexuality is a mortal sin and an abomination against God. Obama voted against the Federal marriage Amendment Act, which would have defined marriage as between a man and a woman.

Sadly, many people have not been educated as to the real issues in this campaign.
Life issues are the most important, for without life, we have nothing. Obama, cares nothing about innocent children, or the lives of others, as he only cares about himself, making a name for himself. He has succumbed to the evils in society. He is a coward, as he certainly doesn’t have the courage to stand up for God and His Commandments. Please, continue to educate others about him and the evil he supports.

Above all — encourage others to pray ~ Divine Help is Needed!
Our country has been blessed by God. We have all good things because of God. One cannot expect our blessings to continue if we are on the road to perdition, turning away from God. Prayers are needed! Pray for our country and its people. God’s Commandments are Commandments — they must be obeyed. Period! They must be obeyed in the voting booth.

We must NOT support evil.
We must NOT support Obama in any way.
We are commanded by God to obey His Commandments. Let’s have the courage to do so.
