VP Biden urges churches to support gun control, but totally ignores 300,000+ annual abortion deaths.

WASHINGTON (TheBlaze/AP) — Vice President Joe Biden has a commandment for pastors, rabbis and nuns: He wants them to tell their flocks that enacting gun control is the moral thing to do.

Editor’s note: Obama and Biden as great moral leaders of our time. What a (laughable) concept!

Cardinal O’Malley sounds more and more like a disciple of the late Senator Ted Kennedy

“We must build a civilization of love, or there will be no civilization at all,” said Boston’s Cardinal Sean O’Malley, at a Mass for the repose of the souls of those killed in the Marathon bombing. So far, so good. But then the wheels came off.

Pointing to sources of the “culture of death,” the cardinal mentioned individualism, alienation, abortion, violent films, and video games. He decried the death penalty. And then this:

The inability of the Congress to enact laws that control access to automatic weapons is emblematic of the pathology of our violent culture.

What’s wrong with that statement? Let me count the ways:

And all this time we thought that she thought she was Beyonce.

First lady Michelle Obama on Wednesday delivered an emotional speech about reducing gun violence that focused on slain Chicago teenager Hadiya Pendleton. The remarks were an effort to encourage business leaders to invest in opportunities for city youth, but the first lady also used the appearance to send a message to Congress about the need to pass gun reform.

“Hadiya Pendleton was me, and I was her,” Obama said at the fundraising luncheon in Chicago.

Editor’s note: No, Mrs. Obama. Society hadn’t quite yet degraded to that point when you were a little girl. Another twenty to thirty years of exclusive Democratic leadership in the City of Chicago would be required before things actually got that bad.

Teachers unions have to be “nuts” to reject armed guards for schools – unless they’re just playing high risk politics, for “the cause”.

By Doug Lawrence

It’s been long enough after the Sandy Hook shootings for some clarity to begin to prevail, and at least some of the facts are now clear:

Teachers as well as students were victims of the shooter.

No one at the school was prepared or otherwise equipped to defend against such an attack, and the shooter probably knew it.

Based on the shooter’s suicidal response to the eventual arrival of help, even the most rudimentary form of armed, professional security may have served to minimize or totally prevent  the Sandy Hook attack, as well as others.

In light of this, it’s clear that specially trained armed guards at schools would serve as a substantial deterrent to attackers … armed or otherwise … and given the huge education budget, along with high level of wasteful spending already going on, pleading a lack of funds simply won’t cut it.

So why is the Obama administration, with the full support of the teacher’s unions, rejecting the idea of armed guards in schools, in favor of  just another ineffective form of gun control?

Politics!

The left certainly wants more gun restrictions, and they are using the events at Sandy Hook as leverage in that quest. Once they have achieved as much as possible in that regard, they can always take the next logical step and quickly provide for the armed security that will protect both teachers and students, alike.

So what if a few more teachers and students have to die, in the mean time? Gun control … not school safety … is obviously the real issue … and sacrifices have to be made, for the cause!

Sen. Feinstein’s concealed carry permit and more rationale for large capacity magazines.

“What if there had been two intruders? What if she had not been as good a shot, and only three bullets hit the intruder? It’s when you have a home invasion that you need a large-capacity magazine, especially if you’re a female who isn’t constantly at the gun range.”

To be fair, we must apply gun control principles to elected politicians and government appointees, without exception.

Let’s get real. The problem is not guns. The problem is widespread corruption and immorality, which pervades our present day society and especially, our government.

With that in mind, it’s time to require instant background checks on every politician, elected or appointed, without exception, covering every local, state and federal jurisdiction … especially the Supreme Court, the Congress, and the President/Vice President.

Elected or not, if the politician fails to pass an instant background check, he/she is out of there! All accrued pensions and benefits would be instantly forfeit, as well.

Constitutional issues could certainly be quickly resolved by the same people who are presently attempting to subvert and otherwise “gut” our country’s founding documents. But of course, that would be grounds for instant dismissal, under the PIBC (Politician Instant Background Check) provisions.

Those guys better watch out!

San Jose bishop comes out for gun control, advocates changing the Bill of Rights.

When the framers of the Constitution included the “right to bear arms” among the freedoms enjoyed by the citizens of the United States, this nation was rural.  It was truly a different time.  Twenty-First Century American society does not resemble 1789. Perhaps it is time to consider curtailing this right.  Individual freedom should be subject to the common good.  If this were not the case, there would be no speed limits on our roads and highways, no crosswalks.

It is time to admit that the free availability of guns and ammunition poses a threat to the welfare of our people and that a “culture of violence” has eclipsed “life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness” as enduring values of this nation.

I join my fellow bishops in calling on film producers and video game creators to recognize the extent of violence in movies, television programs and video games, which have desensitized all of us.   We must also address the pervasive role of addiction and mental illness in crime.

It is time to change, to increase regulation, even to ban the possession of certain weapons.  I echo the words of the Vatican’s Pontifical Council for Peace and Justice, that it is necessary “to impose a strict control on the sale of handguns and small arms.  Limiting the purchase of such arms would certainly not infringe on the rights of anyone” (The International Arms Trade, 2006).

Editor’s note: To prove his point, the good bishop need only enumerate all the wonderful improvements made to the Catholic Church since the liberal innovations of Vatican II were implemented. And for the record … limiting the purchase of such arms would most certainly infringe on MY rights, under the Constitution of the United States of America. (Doug Lawrence, January 2, 2013)

Gun ban dilemma: When seconds count … the police are only minutes away.

The Church has always held that it is legitimate to defend one’s life and/or property against an unjust aggressor, and it is equally legitimate to defend someone else’s life and/or property on the same grounds, even if that defense were to result in the loss of the aggressor’s life.Contrary to the assertions of the anti-gun folks, “gun-free zone” legislation is actually counterproductive, and potentially lethal to those it is designed to protect.

Editor’s note: The primary job of the police department is to enforce the laws made by the government. Protection of the people is merely incidental. Don’t believe that? Google the Rodney King riots. Alternatively, do some research on the history of police activity in every modern dictatorial/totalitarian regime, from Russia to Nazi Germany, to Iraq.

Voting this idiot out of office is certainly an option….

Via NY Times:

Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo said Thursday that he had started discussions with leaders of the State Legislature about new gun control measures, and that he planned to propose a package of gun legislation in his State of the State address on Jan. 9.

“There’s a big difference of opinion on these issues,” Mr. Cuomo, a Democrat, said in an interview on an Albany radio station. […]

In the interview, Mr. Cuomo did not offer specifics about the measures he might propose, but, while discussing assault weapons, he said: “Confiscation could be an option. Mandatory sale to the state could be an option. Permitting could be an option — keep your gun but permit it.”

Liberal’s worst nightmare: Even a child can see that the latest gun ban arguments are 1000 times more applicable to banning abortion.

Bill of Rights

by Doug Lawrence

The right to bear arms is specifically included in the 2nd Amendment of the U.S. Constitution, while the “right” to abortion remains only a cruel fabrication of those who have elevated personal, irresponsible and unlimited sexual license above everything else.

The billions … probably trillions … of Homeland Security dollars that were “allocated” to states and municipalities all across the country, based on politics and alleged fairness, rather than likely exposure to terrorism, could have been used to properly secure every school in the country, but instead, they were squandered on spiffy new surveillance systems, cars, boats, trailers and trucks, as well as many other totally unnecessary law enforcement assets and projects.

Now the “libs” want to to demagogue the school violence issue in order to achieve a few minimal and totally ineffective gains for their gun control agenda.

But, you say …
if the life of only one child is saved …
it will be worth it!

How about instead, we ban abortion … and save the lives of 3000 innocent children every day!
