MAY  WE  B E  T H AT  O B S TA C L E !

“… a time to be silent and a time to speak, …” Ecclesiastes 3:7

Now is the time to speak in defense of the God-ordained institution
of natural marriage and family. Don’t delay any longer!
Call your state representative or, better yet,
drop by his/her district office and tell the secretary that you oppose
same-sex marriage and are urging the representative to oppose it.

MARRIAGE is a sexual complementary union of body & soul of one man
and one woman that is inherently designed for procreation which results in
distinctive norms of family life, monogamy, exclusivity, permanence.

CHILDREN, in some cases, will be deliberately deprived of the opportunity
to be raised by a mother and father. Research shows a child develops best
with one mother and one father. Children should be of paramount
importance in considering public policy.

SCHOOLS will be mandated to teach homosexuality as normal behavior,
which many parents believe is unnatural, unhealthy, and/or immoral.

PARENTS have the right and responsibility to teach sexual conduct to their
children. David Parker, a father of a Massachusetts’ kindergartner, was
jailed overnight because he insisted his child be removed from class
during discussions about homosexuality. Massachusetts courts ruled
that because SSM is legal, schools have no obligation to notify parents.

BUSINESSES will be under further legal obligation to comply
or face lawsuits.

An Illinois bed & breakfast was sued because they refused
to accommodate a civil union ceremony in 2011.

Catholic Charities (of Illinois ) dropped their adoption care services
rather than place children in homosexual households.

SOCIAL AND CIVIC ORGANIZATIONS will be forced to accommodate
same-sex couples. County clerks, and justices-of-the-peace
will be obligated to issue marriage licenses or face the loss of their job.
On May 30, 2012, the ACLU and Lambda Legal filed lawsuits
against the Cook County Clerk, suing him for
not issuing gay “marriage” licenses to homosexual couples.

Families Respond To Pro-Homosexual Marriage Illinois Senate and Governor With An Inspiring Lobby Day.

Yesterday in Springfield—in 19° weather—hope animated the men, women, and children as they arrived, busload by busload, car by car, from every corner of the state to express their opposition to the removal of sexual complementarity from the legal definition of marriage.

Despite the indoctrination that pervades academia, the bias that dominates the mainstream media, the flood of Hollywood images that glamorize homosexuality, and the increasing vilification of those who dare to dissent from “progressivism,” scores of Illinoisans remain resolute in their defense of marriage.

All those unable to be in Springfield but who recognize that children have a right to a mother and a father, who treasure religious liberty, who understand that the government does not construct marriage, and who rightfully fear the consequences of the government’s refusal to recognize what marriage is owe a debt of gratitude to the thousands who stood for truth in the public square today.

Illinois’ Amoral Approach To Sex Ed Is A Pervert’s Dream

The poorly written, poorly thought-out, partisan “comprehensive sex ed” legislation concocted by State Senator Heather Steans (D-Chicago) should be roundly rejected. SB 1619, otherwise known by its obfuscatory title, “Personal Responsibility Education Act,” is yet another attempt by legislator-ideologues to use public money to normalize sexual immorality and perversion by inculcating children and teens with subjectivist, relativist assumptions about sexuality.
SB 1619 requires the following:

Provides that each class or course in comprehensive sex education offered in any of grades 6 through 12 shall include instruction on both abstinence and contraception for the prevention of pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases, including HIV/AIDS (instead of instruction on the prevention, transmission, and spread of AIDS). Removes a provision that requires all public elementary, junior high, and senior high school classes that teach sex education and discuss sexual intercourse to emphasize that abstinence is the expected norm. Provides that all public elementary, junior high, and senior high school classes that teach sex education and discuss sexual intercourse shall satisfy specified criteria (instead of all sex education courses that discuss sexual intercourse shall satisfy specified criteria); makes changes to that criteria….Provides that the State Board of Education shall make available resource materials for educating children regarding sex education and may take into consideration the curriculum on this subject developed by other states, as well as any other curricular materials suggested by education experts and other groups that work on sex education issues. Provides that materials may include without limitation model sex education curriculum and sexual health education programs…. Provides that the Comprehensive Health Education Program shall include the educational area of evidence-based and medically accurate information regarding sexual abstinence (instead of the area of sexual abstinence until marriage).

The term “comprehensive sex ed” is a euphemism intended to convey positive connotations of wholeness and completeness. But as usual with sophistry, it is a deceit. The truth is comprehensive sex ed is incomprehensive, distorted and propelled by a subversive sexual ethic. Comprehensive sex educators seek to tell kids everything possible about sex except of course anything that challenges their subjectivist, relativist presuppositions and libertine social and political goals.

Below are a few of the “medically accurate” notions that comprehensive sexperts from the Sexuality Information and Education Council of the United States (SIECUS) think our children need to know. All of the following bulleted points are direct quotes from the “Guidelines for Comprehensive Sexuality Education,” which is the bible of the comprehensive sex ed movement. Unless, conservatives create a firestorm of opposition, this is what’s coming to Illinois public schools:

The problem isn’t that Johnny can’t read. The problem isn’t even that Johnny can’t think.

A recent email from the Illinois Family Institute about a strongly biased, pro-homosexual article in the Chicago Tribune made (among others) the following key points:

Unfortunately, in an increasingly non-rational, non-thinking culture, appeals to such tales of woe carry persuasive power. It is these kinds of “narratives” that are shaping the views of even conservative Christians, particularly younger Christians who are not being taught to think critically. As Thomas Sowell, African American Senior Fellow at Stanford’s Hoover Institution, writes:

The problem isn’t that Johnny can’t read. The problem isn’t even that Johnny can’t think. The problem is that Johnny doesn’t know what thinking is; he confuses it with feeling.

Huppke reported that Gutierrez met with “LGBT community leaders at noon on Monday at the [homosexual] Center on Halsted” where he was joined in his confab by U.S. Rep. Mike Quigley (D-IL) and openly homosexual Rep.Jared Polis (D-CO).

Some concluding and random thoughts:

  • Appeals to emotion are not reasons.
  • The presence of sad feelings tells us precisely nothing about the morality of homosexuality — or any other moral issue.
  • The presence of emotional and sexual feelings and sexual interactions between two (or more) people does not render their relationship a family structure worthy of affirmation or legal status.
  • Rex Huppke is not reporting; he is cheerleading and proselytizing.

Sexual Identity Therapy (SIT) Framework provides rational cover for virtually any sexual disorder

Editor’s note: This is the type of morally vacuous, psychologically accommodating approach that for years, in the Catholic Church, got sexual predators moved from parish to parish, and from doctor to doctor, while offering virtually nothing to help fix the underlying problem of same sex attraction and disordered sexuality towards our youth.

Now it appears that some of our protestant brethren are getting set to attempt the same thing!

In this article, the folks at Illinois Family Institute (and others) take Grove City College professor Warren Throckmorton and Regent University professor Mark Yarhouse to task for their apparently heretical, accomodationist approach to sexual identity therapy, which basically states that those who, despite the abundantly clear Christian prohibitions against such behavior, “feel” that disordered sexuality is OK for them, are indeed correct, and hence, in no further need of therapy.

This is just another institutionalized form of “Pay to Play” or more correctly, “Pay to Sin”!

Chicago elementary school openly supporting Gay Pride Parade … or not?

The Chicago Tribune is reporting that Chicago’s Nettlehorst Elementary School will be the first public school in the community to march in the city’s gay pride parade.

According to the Tribune, the school’s fence is adorned with thousands of green, blue, purple, and red strips of fabric — each hand-tied by a student. A sign by the gate stated that the elementary school will “be the first Chicago public school to march in the city’s gay pride parade.” The sign also stated that the school believes that family means everybody.
OneNewsNow contacted Nettlehorst Elementary School and requested an interview with school principal Cindy Wulbert. However OneNewsNow was informed that she was unavailable, but the person who answered the phone told OneNewsNow that the school does not endorse the gay pride parade; neither is it participating in the event.
She also told OneNewsNow that some of the parents of students were participating in the event with their children but that, again, the school is not supporting that effort. When asked about the strips of fabric, OneNewsNow was told that they do not exist.
Laurie Higgins is with the Illinois Family Institute and was also told that the school was not participating in the event, but that parents and students who are participating can identify themselves as being a part of Nettlehorst elementary. Higgins was also informed that the sign referred to in the Tribune did not exist.
“I’m sorry; this just sounds very fuzzy to me. I find it difficult to believe that the reporter who quoted the sign imagined that the sign was there. And this morning I was told that they were participating, and now we’re told that they are not participating, but that the parents who are marching can actually identify that they are going to Nettlehorst,” she notes. “So I think that it’s a distinction without a difference. It sounds to me like they caught a lot of flack today, and they are trying to find a way to wiggle out of this.”
Higgins is currently attempting to contact a Tribune reporter. As far as the participation by some of the parents and students in the gay pride parade, Higgins notes that some of the parents are homosexual, but she believes that is no excuse to expose young children to such an event.
“These parades are noted for nudity. Sometimes there are open sex acts. They have cross-dressers in these parades. Any parent who takes their child to this is not a responsible parent, she contends. “To me this is the equivalent to child abuse; it’s exposing their kids to live pornography, and I find it very shocking.”
Higgins notes that it would be a pleasant surprise if nudity laws were enforced at this event.
