Thousands to March to Supreme Court on January 25

Washington, D.C. – On Friday, January 25 the March for Life Education and Defense Fund will host its annual Washington, D.C. event to coincide with the 40th anniversary of the Roe v. Wade Supreme Court decision on abortion.

Each year the March draws thousands of pro-life activists and supporters from around the country to rally at the National Mall and march to the steps of the Supreme Court.

While the marchers will mourn the loss of the event’s founder and longtime leader, Nellie Gray, the latest news such as a recent TIME Magazine cover story indicate that the pro-life position is winning at the state and local level. A majority of Americans now self-identify as pro-life—the ‘new normal’—and many of the thousands of supporters from around the country who will travel to Washington are young people.

“The March for Life is a demonstration of unity that we need
to continue the fight to win over
 the hearts and minds
of all Americans,” said Jeanne Monahan,
President of the March for
Life Education and Defense Fund.
“We are energized by the increasingly pro-life youth who

are keenly aware that abortion is the human rights issue of today.”
