Conservative Catholic John Vennari on the Pope’s latest (La Repubblica) interview

This comprehensive 16 minute video is well worth viewing. Liberals won’t see anything wrong with the Pope’s comments , but for everyone else, this video should be a “wake-up call” and a stark object lesson, directly from the old Baltimore Catechism.

Unlike many of today’s Catholic clerics, academics and theologians, traditionalist layman John Vennari is quite capable of explaining and defending the Catholic faith as it always has been, as opposed to what apostates and heretics would like it to become.

Editor’s note: CHANGE has once again come to (what remains) of the Catholic Church. Barack Obama or Nancy Pelosi could have done the same interview and provided many of the exact, same answers. The Pope’s contra/leftist side is beginning to publicly assert itself. May God help us all!

Engel: How the Homosexual Movement has come to be such a powerful force in American life.

John Vennari — For years, I have been unable to understand how and why the Homosexual Movement in the United States wields such great power and influence? Can you enlighten me and our readers on this question?

Randy Engel — There is no doubt that the Homosexual Movement, is currently at the vanguard of organized sexual deviancy and that it has tremendous clout and resources of all kinds, far beyond what its small numbers would logically dictate.

From a historical perspective, we know that the advancement of homosexuality is part and parcel of the modern Sexual Liberation Movement, started in the late 1920s and culminating in the formation of the World League for Sex Reform in 1928. The main theme of the League was clearly eugenic — “race betterment through selective breeding,” — but its platform also included the repeal of anti-sodomy laws and the legitimization of sodomy as an alternative form of sexual expression. In addition, the WLSR also promoted and lobbied for promoted contraception, sterilization, abortion, population control, sex instruction for the young, divorce and “open” marriages, pornography, suicide, euthanasia, artificial reproduction, and government operated and medically supervised brothels.

Pope Pius XI responded promptly with his great encyclical Casti Connubii (On Chaste Wedlock) in December 1930, thereby successfully defending the fort of Christian morality for another generation.

As for the Homosexual Movement in the United States, up until the late 1960s, it remained largely an underground leftist affair organized by such men as Marxist Henry Hay. It was a loosely organized, fringe network congregating in major port cities such as San Francisco and New York and was, in the public eye, mainly associated with avant garde occupations and sexual libertines. Its political clout, financial resources, and influence on American sexual mores were very limited.

Was John Paul II a conservative pope?

“This may be what you think: John Paul II was the conservative Pope. His pontificate was marked by a resurgent Roman Catholic traditionalism, setting the Church against liberalizing forces of all kinds. John Paul II is remembered above all for shoring up structures of the past.”

This is wrong. John Paul II boldly presided over the maturing of political and theological revolutions in Catholicism. Perhaps despite himself, he was a Pope of change, accomplishing two radical shifts — one in the Church’s attitude toward war and the other in its relationship to the Jewish people. Taken together, those represent the most significant change in Church history, and they lay the groundwork for future changes that could well go beyond what this Pope foresaw or even wanted. In each case, John Paul II brought to completion a movement that was begun by his predecessors John XXIII and Paul VI, the Popes of the Second Vatican Council.”[46]

James Carroll sees Pope John Paul II’s continuing revolution as a “maturing” of Catholic thought. Pope Saint Pius X would have seen it for what it was: Modernism in action. Likewise, Pope Pius XII would have recognized John Paul II as one of the progressivist theologians he warned against in Humani Generis “who reduce to a meaningless formula the necessity of belonging to the true Church in order to gain eternal salvation.”[47]

Some are not happy about announced beatification of the late Pope John Paul II

The Vatican has announced it will beatify Pope John Paul II in a ceremony on May 1.

The announcement is cause for consternation. This is a move to beatify the Pope who promoted a Masonic-styled pan-religious ecumenism, who effectively told the Jews they have their own Covenant independent from Christ, who kissed the Koran, who glorified in rock’n’roll and pagan inculturated liturgies, who appointed faithless and feckless bishops, whose official point-man for Protestants (Cardinal Kasper) publicly said Vatican II did away with the notion that non-Catholics need to convert, who presided over the worst clerical scandal in history, and whose consistent words and actions presented Vatican II as a radical discontinuity with Catholic Tradition.
