Church Militant scolds “Nobody Goes To Hell” Bishop Robert Barron; Publishes comprehensive list of his fellow “Bad Bishops”.

Fr. Robert Barron

Barron is no intellectual — not by a long shot — even though he plays one on social media. He says what itching ears want to ear among his Church of Nice devotees. He says in this latest pabulum that “certain” websites and social media types are causing division and — wait for it — the bishops have to put an end to it. Ha! You mean, the ones who created the chaos in the first place — those bishops?

When Barron produced his meaningless, self-serving book, Letter to a Suffering Church, it may have been his attempt to declare that, according to Bp. Barron from on High, he had finally pronounced on the sex abuse garbage. And now he had deigned to speak, so the matter is closed. Pay no attention, he tells us, to that homosexual cabal behind the curtain. So much did he not want us to even consider that homosexual clergy are responsible for homosexual assault, that the word “homosexual” appears in the book two times.

And that’s how you know he’s kissing butt on his way up the career ladder — by denying what everyone and their mother and brother already knows, especially the victims of those homopredator clerics. You’re a bad man, Barron — a bad man. Only a bad man would try to advance his career over the broken bodies and souls of teenage boy victims of this evil and have you try to sweep that aspect under the rug. You are complicit, period. And for the record, that’s just the minor victims. All the rest, in seminaries all over the country, get short shrift from Bp. “everyone goes to Heaven” Barron.

So let’s play Barron’s little game with him here, shall we? Let’s talk about the bishops sitting down and making their list of “baddies” on social media.

Why is Michael Voris happy to criticize every Bishop – except the Bishop of Rome?

mvorisLove ya Mike, but to produce a video claiming criticizing Church leaders is divisive to unity and a scandal is as mad as a hatter given your own vocation!

Look around us. “Criticism” about the antics of kooky priests and bishops have done catastrophic damage to unity. Yet raising concerns about the undisciplined kooky statements, actions and inactions is your role for Christ’s Church.

It’s precisely what you’ve been doing.

You can’t have it both ways.

Michael Voris’ refusal to criticize the Pope – for any reason – is based on unsound biblical interpretation.

VorisAccording to Michael Voris and Church Militant.TV:

A very poignant example of how we should treat the Holy Father is found in Genesis 9:18-27, particularly 21-23:

18 And the sons of Noe (Noah) who came out of the ark, were Sem, Cham, and Japheth: and Cham is the father of Chanaan.
19 These three are the sons of Noe (Noah): and from these was all mankind spread over the whole earth.
20 And Noe, a husbandman, began to till the ground, and planted a vineyard,
21 And drinking of the vine was made drunk, and was uncovered in his tent.
22 Which when Cham the father of Chanaan had seen, to wit, that his father’s nakedness was uncovered, he told it to his two brethren without.
23 But Sem and Japheth put a cloak upon their shoulders, and going backward covered the nakedness of their father: and their faces were turned away, and they saw not their father’s nakedness.
24 And Noe (Noah)  awakening from the wine, when he had learned what his younger son had done to him,
25 He said: Cursed be Chanaan; a servant of servants shall he be unto his brethren.
26 And he said: Blessed be the Lord God of Sem; be Chanaan his servant.
27 May God enlarge Japheth, and may he dwell in the tents of Sem; and Chanaan be his servant.

A strong case can be made that “ecclesiastical porn” sites and publications, and those who write for them, are walking in the footsteps of Cham by telling others of their father’s nakedness. Scripture gives us the example of Sem and Japheth who “covered the nakedness of their father, “their faces were turned away,” and “they saw not their father’s nakedness.” The sons of Noe knew that their father was naked, but they chose to “cover” it. – END

Here’s the important part:

The “father’s nakedness” spoken of in the above passage was actually Noah’s wifenot Noah, himself.

Keep my laws and my judgments: which if a man do, he shall live in them, I am the Lord. No man shall approach to her that is near of kin to him, to uncover her nakedness. I am the Lord. Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy father, or the nakedness of thy mother: she is thy mother, thou shalt not uncover her nakedness. Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy father’s wife: for it is the nakedness of thy father(Leviticus 18:5-8)

I will leave out the rest of the details, as they have little bearing on this discussion.

The point is: Michael Voris is basing his policy on an incorrect and uninformed interpretation of scripture and he’s holding others up to unjust criticism, based on his mistake.

Michael needs to apologize for his mistake, reformulate his policy, based on the truth, and get on with his otherwise good work.

133 various comments on the Catholic Answers website pretty much describe all the problems being experienced in the present day Catholic Church

For example:

…If the the SSPX are radical traditionalists then so are the rest of us! Attack one Catholic and you attack us all. That’s the message to Catholic Answers the SSPX are in the boat stop trying to push them out.

Religious Liberty, False Ecumenism and Collegiality all coming from Vatican II are a problem for most thinking Catholics who are going to the Traditional Latin Mass. This is not limited to the SSPX or those other groups your radio show talked about. The other huge problem and this is where the southern poverty law center comes is supersessionism and Vatican II. The southern poverty law center calls faithful Catholics “anti-semites” and “radical traditionalists” due to our holding to the reality of supersessionism. This is an injustice.

The topic of the Jews must not be pushed under the rug because it makes people feel icky. Michael Voris was not allowed to speak in my diocese because he was faithful to Christ and the truth about the Jews & the reality the matter. This also is an injustice. So let’s have at it in Charity gentlemen…

Editor’s note: To be fair, let’s carefully parse Donald R. McClarey’s personal comment on Michael Voris.

“He strikes me…” (Yes, he does. MV tends to get right in everyone’s face as he delivers news of the latest public scandals and failings of those who dare to call themselves Catholic. Nobody wants to hear that kind of stuff, but we know it’s true.)

“as a conspiratorial blowhard…” (Conspiratorial? How did all those altar rails come down, tabernacles get moved and all those liberal prelates obtain their positions, if not by some form of organized political effort within the universal church? The late Cardinal Bernardin was indeed a highly placed, Chicago style “wheeler – dealer” – and the U.S. church is still recovering from his various appointments and his ill considered. self-serving “seamless garment” approach. Then there were the abusive priests who were for years, secretly transferred from diocese to diocese to diocese. That didn’t happen by accident – so what would you call it, if not some kind of a coordinated effort/conspiracy? A good old boy’s club? Malfeasance – negligence – malpractice – or what? Certainly not an act of God!)

“who has a thing about Jews…” (It can be legitimately claimed that Pope John Paul II, Pope Benedict XVI and Pope Francis had/have “a thing” about Jews. What “thing” might that be? How about lumping every individual Jew and Jewish organization into one big group and claiming that they all believe exactly the same things, and are working toward precisely the same ends – which are all good – which means we Catholics are no longer supposed to be concerned with their conversion – which is a bunch of outright lies – and is also about as patronizing, anti-Semitic, anti-Catholic and bereft of human charity as can be! MV understands that not everyone who personally identifies as Jewish has the best interests of the the Catholic Church – or the world – in mind. The same can be rightly said about many Christian denominations and other groups. So what’s the problem? Or do you too have “a thing” about Jews?)

“and who has all the subtlety and wit of a dead possum…” (Possums that only appear to be dead are actually very, very subtle. As for MV – I would classify this as an ad hominem attack – and that’s simply unfair – like shooting the messenger who brings bad news.)

Cynical cleric says: If the truths of the faith were to be preached .. the medicine might kill the dog.

Priests with integrity and authentic love for souls – simply will not sit back and preach like this – thy will be true fathers and deal out the tough love when it is needed. They don’t care about being popular or well liked – other than by Our Blessed Lord – who is the only one that counts.

They say what needs to be said and when they open their mouths about contraception or same-sex marriage or whatever – then someone in the pews calls down to the bishop’s office. The bishop calls in the priest and promptly chastises the PRIEST for preaching the truth and upsetting the little offended laity.

The priest is branded a radical or some such nonsense among his fellow diocesan priests who have learned to play the political game and keep their mouths shut when it comes to the truth – if they actually believe it or not themselves is another question.

Editor’s note: The name change and move appears to be a positive response to the demands from the Archdiocese of Detroit that Real Catholic TV stop using the name “Catholic”.

The term “Church Militant” was summarily stripped from the latest Catechism of the Catholic Church and eschewed by liberal Catholics everywhere. That was the equivalent of total disarmament and baring one’s neck to the enemy … so it’s no wonder the Catholic Church has been brutally set upon by Barack Obama and his minions … not to mention the bloody persecution and martyrdom that’s presently taking place in the middle east and elsewhere.

A thorough study of the Book of Revelation will show that Christians in the middle and far east are today experiencing many of the end time tribulations described therein. Only God knows what will come next!

The good people at Real Catholic TV/Church Militant TV are doing what should have been done by the post-Vatican II institutional church, for lo these many years … boldly teaching the Catholic faith … the whole faith … and nothing but the faith!

Pray for Church Militant TV. Send them some money to help defray the expenses of their move. Share their work with friends and family. They’re doing what Jesus expects of his disciples, they’re doing it regularly, and they’re doing it well … in spite of fierce opposition from factions in the Church, itself.

Michael Voris asks: Is Catholicism superior to other faiths … or is it not?

Here is THE question at the heart of so many issues within the Church today. And it really is as simple as this – Is Catholicism Superior to other faiths or is it not?

If you think it is .. then you are on the side of the saints .. not to mention The Almighty .. who established the Church.

If you think it isn’t .. then you need to leave it.

Not all religions are the same. In fact .. there is Catholicism and then .. all the others are false religions.
But there is such hesitancy today .. FROM INSIDE THE CHURCH .. to come out and say this plainly and simply. Why – it’s the truth isn’t it?!

Can people who say they believe the Catholic Church was founded by Jesus CHRIST HIMSELF Personally .. really walk around and say something like .. but all the other faiths are OK also.

Look .. Divinely established means just that .. divinely established .. which means that all the others are founded by men. This makes them false religions. Period. Yea yea. They have truthful aspects to them .. but any truth they have is first Catholic truth. Period.

God wants to be worshiped in one way and one way only and He Himself makes it quite clear HOW that is to be. Its found in the book of Malachi .. chapter 1 verse 10-11.

“Oh, that one among you would shut the temple gates to keep you from kindling fire on my altar in vain!  I have no pleasure in you, says the LORD of hosts; neither will I accept any sacrifice from your hands, For from the rising of the sun, even to its setting, my name is great among the nations; And everywhere they bring sacrifice to my name, and a pure offering;”

God has no pleasure in vain offerings. He tells the priests of the Old Testament that it will be the Gentiles who make the pure offering that he desires.

Well .. what is pure that can be offered to God for sacrifice? The only pure sin offering that can be made to God is GOD HIMSELF. This is what the Catholic Mass is .. the offering of the Son to the Father .. God to God.

The Catholic Mass occurs within the context of the Catholic Faith .. and since the sacrifice of God to Himself is the most superior form of worship there is .. then it follows that the Faith which believes this is the TRUE faith .. meaning .. by extension and quite logically .. that the other faiths .. all of them .. are false.

It’s just that simple.

The Second Person of the Blessed Trinity established this Church to be His Bride. He gave His life for Her. It is She He will raise from Her earthly dross to Her manifest heavenly beauty at the end of time and Her alone.

If you don’t believe this .. then get out .. and make way for those who do .. and most especially .. those who want to learn.

There is only one true religion. Period. And its not just a matter of faith or belief .. it’s a fact. Undeniably.
And please don’t start going on about silly notions of being unconscious Catholics .. and anonymous Catholics. It is precisely the backing away from this fact that has caused SO much problem in the Church these days.

Too many leaders in the Church have surrendered this truth so they could be more easily accepted .. for whatever reason. Their motives or intentions we leave to God .. the results are left for us to judge and the judgment is not favorable.

Catholic identity has been lost because the unique claim of Catholicism has been abandoned .. privately at least if not totally publicly.

Bottom line .. do you believe that Catholicism is the One True Faith .. or do you not? As Archbishop Fulton Sheen used to say .. “If you do not live what you believe, you will end up believing what you live.”

GOD Love you. I’m Michael Voris.

Editor’s note: I wish Michael Voris would quit mincing words and just say what he means!

20 or so vs. 400,000! Are the numbers about the same?!

Michael Voris reports from the Washington, DC March:

If there was ever an example of secular media bias .. it’s this annual March .. and note this .. the largest annual gathering in Washington .. year after year .. bar none .. and to the secular media .. it never happens.

It is essentially ignored or treated so slightly that it may as well not have happened. Each year .. anywhere from 350,000 to 450,000 .. sometimes more .. an ocean of people stream up to the US Supreme Court protesting the evil of abortion and in favor or Roe v. Wade being overturned .. and yet .. you’d never know it by the secular media.

The only hint you might get .. that SOME people came to DC and did SOMETHING .. is the Associated Press or Reuters News Agency pictures of a dozen or so pro-aborts from NOW holding their signs in front of the Court amid hundreds of thousands of pro-lifers .. and hearing commentators on CNN say something stupid like .. so are the numbers on each side about the same?

.. That was the observation of one of CNN’s crack reporters and anchors last year.

The Archdiocese of Detroit vs. Real Catholic TV: All the latest … including the Ed Peters Canon Law controversy.

I have been doing much research in regard to Real Catholic TV (RCTV) and the Archdiocese of Detroit’s claims that RCTV is “not authorized to use the name Catholic.”  The Archdiocese can claim that all it wants, but these claims amount to little more than harassment and a public relations campaign aimed at undermining RCTV’s moral authority and influence.

The bishops of Detroit and Forth Wayne-South Bend are not willing to affirm the dogma or say that Jews need to convert for salvation and now they are targeting Michael Voris and his financier Marc Brammar for defending Catholic teaching.

A simple question for the bishop of Detroit, which I asked Bishop Kevin Rhoades and he did not answer during the Robert Sungenis controversy was: Does the Catholic Church teach that non Catholic religions are not paths to salvation? (Dominus Iesus 20, CDF, Notification on Fr.Jacques Dupuis S.J etc).

How can these bishops not affirm the dogma outside the church there is no salvation and canonically still offer Holy Mass and remain as bishops? They can commit sacrilege just because they have the political support of the ADL and the pro abortion rabbis linked to Israel?

Shea vs. Voris (don’t miss the reader comments)

Last week I wrote a defense of Michael Voris and Simon Rafe (a defense I stand by, despite what follows). Catholic News Agency was, I felt, jumping on the story a bit prematurely and critics of Voris and Rafe were, it seemed to me, being rather hasty both in seeing something sinister in his failure to keep up with complicated paperwork and in their demands that a penitent Rafe be punished for writing a role-playing game with a few rather ambiguous naughty bits. I say “ambiguous” because we simply don’t know how the game proceeded.

If you write a game in which a character you are playing does something you know you shouldn’t do and you get rewarded for it, that’s one thing. If you write a game in which evil choices ultimately lead to bad consequences or to repentance, forgiveness and redemption, that’s another.

Many readers were quite ready to huck Simon Rafe under the bus merely because of a pull quote in a story, devoid of information about how the rest of the game went. Worse, even with his apology, contrition, and promise of firm purpose of amendment, a number of Voris fans were not satisfied. They wanted Rafe fired or punished in some way. I thought the accusations against Voris and Rafe were a bit breathless, so I spoke.

This week, however, there is a different pattern emerging that I find equally disturbing, and frankly, related to Mr. Voris’ standard methodology.

Michael Voris clarifies reported Real Catholic TV “issues”.

First .. the official status of St. Michael’s Media as a 501(c) 3. The article called into question our official standing as a non-profit with the State of Michigan. It reported that according to the state. St. Michael’s Media is not in good standing. That is true.

What the article did not make clear is that this is the case because St. Michael’s Media has not filed the annual reports that were supposed to be filed. That is entirely my fault. I have oversight to do that. I did not do that. The reason is simply because I did not know that had to be done.

Again totally my fault.

When St. Michael’s Media was established back in 2006 .. we had a short term helper who was handling all the paperwork issues with the state. When that worker left .. I did a poor job and allowed things to get sloppy. We are now in the process of getting our records up to date and will file the appropriate back records.

The State of Michigan website that addresses these sorts of issues clearly states that when the paperwork is corrected .. the company is re-established in good standing as though nothing had gone wrong. There is a small $5 fine to have to pay for each back annual report and we will of course pay that along with filing the reports and bringing St. Michael’s Media up to speed.

Again .. totally my fault and I accept the responsibility. I am working to fix the situation which was caused by me, and I will have it all done in as short a time as possible.

Secondly .. regarding the issue of Simon Rafe and his online writings in question, which he has since taken down. I spoke with Simon at some length on a couple of occasions here from Madrid when this was first brought to my attention.

He was immediately forthright and admitted they were his and that they were very inappropriate. He said he should not have written and published them. He expressed his great sorrow. He has in fact issued a very specific apology on the web on his own with no prompting from anyone.
