The modernist blasphemy “dogmatic evolutionism” or “reinterpretation of dogma to fit the times”

According to Msgr. Víctor Manuel Fernández, Rector of the Pontifical Catholic University of Argentina:

Some have even claimed that all Church teachings depend and are based on non-negotiable principles. This certainly is heresy! To claim that Jesus Christ, his resurrection, fraternal love and all that the Gospel teaches us depends on ethical principles is a distortion of Christianity.

Editor’s note: These are the same type of errors Joe Biden and the Democratic Party are shamelessly promoting in the United States – and the poorly educated, easily misled public is happily, gobbling them right up!

But it’s one thing for cheap, tin-horn politicians to promote falsehoods – and quite another for the priests and hierarchy of the Catholic Church – who are supposed to know better.

Perhaps Msgr. Fernandez no longer believes in Divine Revelation, Sacred and Apostolic Tradition, and the Sacred Deposit of Faith – which are precisely the things on which Catholic ethical principles have always been fashioned?

Or perhaps, these days, to Msgr. Fernandez, there is nothing sacred?

Let’s pray for all those attending the Pontifical Catholic University of Argentina.

Dirty little secret: Many of today’s “Fallen away Catholics” were first left spiritually and morally abandoned by the “Fallen Away, Know-Nothing Catholic Church” of the 1970’s.

Smoke

by Doug Lawrence

Coming of age in the early 1970’s and looking to the Catholic Church for guidance on faith, family and other matters of critical import brought only shrugs, along with the continuing assurance that I would be just fine if only I managed to follow my conscience.

But how could I follow my conscience on matters I knew nothing about? Wasn’t there somebody who could provide a reliable Catholic perspective for me – perhaps a local priest or a bishop? (Sound of crickets chirping.)

That was my personal experience with the “New Pentecost” which led to the “New Springtime” of the post-Vatican II Catholic Church – and it took me more than twenty years to get over it!

It wasn’t until I eventually developed a modicum of personal maturity, along with the necessary research skills, that I managed to overcome the ecclesial nonsense, fend off the rampant incompetence and corruption, and finally develop a working understanding of the one, true faith – no thanks to anyone in the church, except God!

It was then that I discovered – or more correctly – rediscovered – the power and the glory that is still ever present in the Holy Catholic Church – despite the rabble and the schmucks (I’m really trying to remain charitable here) who continue (on a daily basis ) to do everything in their power to run it into the ground!

The clerics of the 1970’s Catholic Church were AWOL when I most needed them, and due to the wide-spread apostasy and modernism embedded in virtually every part of the institutional church, many of them remain (at least, spiritually) absent without leave, today!

Modernism is the present day equivalent of Original Sin, since it corrupts everything! I have little doubt that when Pope Paul VI spoke of the Smoke of Satan somehow finding its way into the Temple of God, it was actually Modernism of which he spoke!

For example: At this past Sunday’s Mass I was subjected to a homily, consisting of at least forty percent pure heresy, that was later followed by vigorous applause from the entire congregation (minus one – me).

What used to get a person (particularly a priest) sanctioned, or even burned at the stake, now generates spontaneous applause and wide-spread approval!

Witness the “Francis Effect” in action!

God help us!

For more than 1900 years, the serenity and peace of the Catholic Faith and the certainty of the Church’s immutable doctrine were widely recognized as products of the fullness of divine grace and truth, which she alone possessed.

hfxvII

But now all has changed… dreadful days have come upon us which the appeasing rhetoric of modernized Christians cannot hide: the Revolution of the atheist world has entered the Church and is wearing everything down.

There is no longer any stability and the Church appears to have entered into a perennial Revolution which changes everything continuously: confusion in the rites, confusion in doctrine, confusion in morals, confusion in discipline.

You do not know if the truth of today will be the same tomorrow. Many, priests and faithful, rush around anxiously in order not to be left behind, adapting themselves in whatever way they can, to this wearisome confusion.

The one who is truly seeking God in this revolutionary Church, is left frightfully alone.

What to do in this suffocating atmosphere? And what not to do?

First of all, it is important not to be beset by agitation, it is important not to react like revolutionaries: that would be like treating a disease, which is precisely what the Revolution is, with the same illness. The revolutionary spirit, even when it pretends to save the good, will never be the solution.

Instead, it is essential to stay really outside of the Revolution, by living Catholicism integrally in the stability that was there, before the Revolution invaded everything.

Can Saint Anthony find the lost faith of the Catholic Church of the Ages?

anthonypadua

No Catholic who takes the salvation of his immortal soul seriously can ignore the intercessory power of Saint Anthony of Padua. Over and above all of the little things we ask Saint Anthony to find after we have lost them, Saint Anthony of Padua, an exemplary preacher of the truths of the Catholic Faith, must be invoked today in our times under one of his most important titles, “The Hammer of Heretics.”

We need Saint Anthony’s help right now in the midst of the difficulties within Holy Mother Church so that each of us will be fortified by our hidden time in prayer before the Blessed Sacrament and our unabashed expressions of love for the Holy Name of Mary to proclaim the truths of the true Faith openly in the midst of the heretics in the counterfeit church of conciliarism who want to convince us that everything about the Catholic Church prior to 1958 must be rejected and vilified and apologized for.

Although Saint Anthony is a saint for all days and for all ages, he is particularly apt to help Holy Mother Church in these our days, rife as they are with all of the synthesized heresies that have amalgamated themselves under the aegis of Modernism.

About Saint Anthony of Padua

The fatal mistake of Modernism

Every civilization has a theory about what man knows and how he knows it.

The theory of a particular civilization will influence every area of human thought and action. Such fields as science, politics, economics, sociology, psychology, education, religion, and popular morality will be directly affected. Fields like art, music, poetry, and literature will be deeply, although indirectly, influenced, as well.

Theories about how man knows are found in a branch of metaphysics that philosophers call epistemology. Epistemology is a Greek compound word meaning the study of knowledge.

The intellectual leaders of the West took a sharp turn in the wrong direction in epistemology during the period 1750-1800, as a result of disillusionment with rationalism without understanding the fallacies of the rationalist philosophers. Empirical philosophy was offered as a substitute for rationalism, which had equally serious fallacies.

Immanuel Kant (1724-1804) harmonized the two kinds of philosophy and temporarily curbed some of the fallacies. However, partly due Kant’s critique of metaphysics, the study of epistemology fell out of favor, and men lost their ability to detect epistemological errors. The dual errors of rationalism and empiricism have been steadily increasing in intensity since 1800.

After 1800, the general culture began to show the effects of this change in thought. The unraveling of Western culture in the twentieth century is in no small measure the cumulative effect of two centuries of bad epistemology.

Let us consider natural epistemology, or how every man thinks if they have not been corrupted with false epistemology, so that we can better understand the errors of Modernism.

Judaism and the Catholic Church: before and after Vatican II

The key text of Nostra Aetate on this point is in the document’s fourth chapter:

Given this great spiritual heritage common to Christians and Jews, it is the wish of this sacred Council to foster and recommend a mutual knowledge and esteem… the Jews should not be presented as rejected by God or accursed, as though this follows from Scripture… The Church… deplores all hatred, persecution and other manifestations of anti-semitism, whatever the period and whoever was responsible.

Of course, no Catholic may favor the mistreatment of Jews or of anyone else. This is a given. What’s troubling, however, is the ambiguity contained in the phrase, “The Jews should not be presented as rejected by God or accursed, as though this follows from Scripture.”

This phrase lacks necessary distinctions.

Firstly, all of us are members of an “accursed race” – the human race. None of us are born Catholic, but enter this world stained with original sin as children of Adam and Eve. We are thus born, as Blessed Abbot Marmion explains, “enemies of God.” [5] The Psalms teach, “Indeed in guilt was I born and in sin my mother conceived me.” (Psalm 5:7) St. Paul affirms, “For we are by nature children of wrath.” (Eph. 2:3). We are all born as part of the Kingdom of Satan.

To be freed from this kingdom, we need to be “saved”. The eminent Msgr. Joseph Clifford Fenton explains, the process of salvation requires a transfer from the Kingdom of Satan to the Kingdom of God. This Kingdom of God, according to the age-old doctrine of the Two Kingdoms,[6] is the Catholic Church, the one and only supernatural society established by Christ in which salvation can be found.

The process of salvation, as Fenton notes, is similar to being saved from a sinking rowboat wherein the individual is sure to perish, and being transferred to a sea-worthy ocean liner. This necessary transfer from the Kingdom of Satan to the Kingdom of God requires Baptism and acceptance of the Jesus Christ and his Divine Revelation. “He who believes and is baptized will be saved. He who does not believe will be condemned.” (Mark 16:6) This teaching applies to all people on earth, whether they be Jewish, Muslim, Hindu or secular humanist.

We are all thus born as part of an “accursed race.” The only way to free ourselves from this curse, the only way out of the kingdom of Satan, is to leave the devil’s empire and transfer into Christ’s one true Church, and to keep oneself in the state of grace by means of prayer and the sacraments.

Writer lists a plethora of Vatican II “bad fruits” that have radically changed the Catholic Church.

flagVAupsidedown

Here is a summary of significant changes made by Vatican II or in its wake, that differ significantly from the previous positions of the Church:

Dogma

1. The dogma of the Holy Trinity has been shelved to foster the sophism that Catholics and Muslims adore the same God.

2. The dogma that Our Lord Jesus Christ is God has been stifled to accommodate dialogue with Jews, who do not admit it.

3. The dogma of God as a Transcendent Being distinct from the universe has been substituted with a God immanent in the evolutionist process, history and man.

4. The dogma of original sin and the account of the Genesis on the origin of man have been frontally denied to fit the theory of the universal evolution of the species.

5. The dogma of the Redemption of mankind by Our Lord has lost its meaning, since without original sin there is no need to be redeemed.

6. The dogma of the Ascension has been openly denied by Benedict XVI as a misinterpretation of the words of the Gospel.

7. The dogma of the Resurrection was reinterpreted as being part of evolution: Christ was the first man to become God, and now all mankind is getting ready to follow Him in that step.

8. The concept of Revelation radically changed: Instead of being what God revealed in the Old and New Testaments, now it is what each one can discern of “divine revelation” inside his soul, society or history.

9. The objectivity of the books and letters of the New Testament has been denied to accommodate various Protestant schools of criticism.

10. The dogma that grace is a created gift has been denied to present grace as an essential immanence of God in man to transform him into a new species.

11. The Catholic concept of Sacrament has been abandoned as “superstitious” and “magic,” replaced by new interpretations based on “evolution,” “communion” or “social” themes.

12. Accordingly, the Holy Eucharist has also assumed new interpretations and is no longer considered as the true Body of Christ.

 13. The Marian dogmas have been downplayed, and Mariology has been put aside to favor ecumenism with Protestants.

14. In particular, the dogma of the virginity of the Most Blessed Mary has been frontally denied.

15. Heaven, Hell and Purgatory have been continuously denied in the last 30 years by John Paul II and Benedict XVI.

16. The dogma extra Ecclesia nulla salus has been frontally denied by the common conciliar teaching that universal salvation exists for all who have good will.

17. The modernist doctrine of the evolution of dogma has been fostered by the conciliar Popes, thus making relative all the dogmatic formulations of the past.

But wait. There’s more!

A special essay on Modernism and why its presence is so strong in our days.

In his book “Athanasius”, Bishop Rudolf Graber, of Regensburg, explains how the Evil One in the course of the ages has attacked the Holy Catholic Church in ways increasingly refined, insidious, and intimate. He began by attacking the faithful through persecutions, but seeing that these lead rather to an increase of the Faith, he adopted another method: that of attacking the Faith itself.

With the heresies of Martin Luther he managed to detach a great number of people from the Catholic Church; with the heresies that comprise Modernism, he has even succeeded at present in contaminating the Faith of a great number of people within the Church Herself.

What is Modernism? Saint Pius X defines it in his encyclical Pascendi as “the synthesis of all heresies”. The Code of Canon Law (CIC. 751) defines heresy as: “the obstinate denial, after receiving baptism, of a truth which is to be believed by Divine and Catholic Faith, or the obstinate doubt concerning it…”

Now, what is defined by the words ‘a truth which is to be believed by Divine and Catholic Faith’ is Catholic dogma. We observe that Modernism has in fact a wider scope than Catholic dogma as here defined, in that it extends to all traditional Catholic doctrines, even if they have not yet been defined as dogmas. In other words, Modernism includes the denial not only of all dogmas, but also of all traditional Catholic doctrine.

There was a time, not long after the Second Vatican Council, when the bishops who wanted to suppress the Church’s ancient liturgy or desecrate her traditions could do so with impunity.

That time is over. This is an age of accountability. When something sacred is treated as disposable, when communities of believers are punished with forced allegiance to Modernist changes they have legitimately and prudently chosen to avoid, that’s a place where the light should shine.

I don’t know about you, but I want my Catholicism back. I want a Church I can be proud of, a Church that remembers what it believes in. A Church that doesn’t scandalize so deeply that it damages or even destroys the faith of its own members and makes no effort to appeal to those outside her bosom except when creating the false appearance that non-negotiable things have become negotiable.

If this isn’t the foretold time of apostasy, it must be the precursor.

Editor’s note: This is a wide ranging article wherein the author makes the case that trying to change Catholic doctrine to fit “modern man” only leads to death and doom.

A novel concept that runs contrary to Sacred Scripture and to the perennial magisterium of the Church.

Within the context of exhorting Catholics ever deeper into the ecumenical program, Pope Francis says: “We hold the Jewish people in special regard because their covenant with God has never been revoked, for ‘the gifts and the call of God are irrevocable’ (Rom 11:29). The Church, which shares with Jews an important part of the Sacred Scriptures, looks upon the people of the covenant and their faith as one of the sacred roots of her own Christian identity (cf. Rom 11:16-18). As Christians, we cannot consider Judaism as a foreign religion; nor do we include the Jews among those called to turn from idols and to serve the true God (cf. 1 Thes 1:9). With them, we believe in the one God[1] who acts in history, and with them we accept his revealed word.”[2]

There is no mention of any need for conversion to Christ and His Church.

Pope Francis effectively continues the program initiative by the Council, and brought to fruition by Popes John Paul II and Benedict XVI that the Old Covenant has not been superseded by the New. This is a novel concept that runs contrary to Sacred Scripture and to the perennial magisterium of the Church.

Our Lord Jesus Christ told the Jews of his day: “If you do not believe that I am He [the Messiah], you will die in your sins.” (John 8:24) Elsewhere He said to the Jews, “You search the Scripture because in them you think you have life everlasting. And it is they that bear witness to Me, yet you are not willing to come to Me that you may have life.” (John 5:39-40)

Editor’s note: Vatican II is what happens when God finally steps aside and permits the men who run the Catholic Church to pursue all the desires of their hearts.

At the root of Modernism is the denial of absolutes, thus subjectivizing reality and truth and consequently sentimentalizing religion on a personal level — errors that Pope Francis has also been endorsing.

The Modernists place the foundation of their religious philosophy in that doctrine which is commonly called agnosticism. Perforce, then, human reason is entirely restricted to phenomena, namely, things that appear, and that appearance by which they appear; it has neither the right nor the power to transgress the limits of the same. Therefore, it cannot raise itself to God nor recognize His existence, even through things that are seen. (Denzinger 2072) [emphasis added in this and succeeding quotes]

Certain Catholics, bedazzled by the triumphs of science and befuddled by false philosophies, embraced the idea that we can only get certainty from direct sense evidence. Doing this, they shut off reason from reaching God, when reason alone can provide us with an objective God. And only the objective God is the God of absolute truth, the Catholic God, i.e., the God to Whom only the true Catholic Faith leads. This is the real God; there is no other.

Sense data, of itself, provides no direct information about God, since God is immaterial. Only the immaterial power of man’s intellect, through a process of metaphysical abstraction, can yield certain, objective knowledge of what transcends the material order. Thus, chaining reason to phenomena pushes the one objective God away from reason’s reach. And without such an objective God, a man who “wants religion” must create his own subjective god. With Modernists, we no longer have the one creating God manifesting His order to the universe of men, but each individual man manifesting belief in the god of his creation. This is the long term result of the religious agnosticism which was condemned 100 years ago.

Did it disappear after its condemnation? Or did it mutate and, like a new strain of malaria, re-appear in a more insidious and deadly form? To answer this, we must turn to a Pope and an atheist, and see to what degree they mutually adhere to the three step subjectivization of reality given above.

The Evils of Modernism as demonstrated by the seriously flawed documents of Vatican II and the subsequent teachings of Popes Paul VI, John Paul II, Benedict XVI and Frances

PopeFI

Modernism thrives on vague and ambiguous expressions, on lack of precision, on lack of clear definitions, because Modernism, being sinister, detests clarity, which is one of the hallmarks of truth and orthodoxy: “For every one that doth evil hateth the light, and cometh not to the light, that his works may not be reproved” (John 3:20).

Modernism seeks to make what is certain, doubtful, what is clear, confusing; it tries to make the straight paths of True Catholicism crooked, and so becomes the anti-Gospel.”

A.J. pulls no punches

Polish priest quits SSPX and also throws in the towel on the post-Vatican II Church.

Editor’s note: Rev. Raphael Trytek makes some very interesting points – points which every faithful Catholic ought to prudently and prayerfully consider, during this official Year of Faith.

For nearly half a century since, Christian life remains eclipsed under the propagation of what the Church has infallibly condemned over centuries as Modernistic errors and heresies, such as: 1) Religious freedom, essentially leading to the acceptance of state atheism; 2) falsely conceived Ecumenism -whether equalization of false religious doctrines to the One True Catholic Church, or acknowledgment of other religions, including even Judaism, Islam, and Paganism, as means leading to salvation; 3) the erroneous conception of the Church of Christ as not identical with the Catholic Church, but as a wider entity that includes the Catholic Church without being limited to it; 4) the advancement of one global syncretistic religion; 5) adherence to Masonic ideas, such as the propagation of alleged “natural” rights of man, which essentially becomes an expression of anthropocentrism.

It is impossible for the True Church of Christ and for Her Hierarchy – Pope and Bishops remaining in union with him- to subscribe to that apostasy! Whoever is willing to preserve and to confess the Catholic Faith, must acknowledge that the institution that insistently peddles and publicly proclaims so shameful errors, has nothing in common with the true Catholic Church…
