Been there before: “Creeping totalitarianism” – a lesson from the recent past.

Over Ninety Percent of Austrians Voted for Adolph Hitler’s Takeover

“Totalitarianism didn’t come quickly, it took 5 years from 1938 until 1943, to realize full dictatorship in Austria. Had it happened overnight, my countrymen would have fought to the last breath. Instead, we had creeping gradualism. Now, our only weapons were broom handles. The whole idea sounds almost unbelievable that the state, little by little eroded our freedom.”

This is my eye-witness account

Abortion advocates are essentially no different from Nazis or Soviet Communists. All of them have picked a class of humans to sacrifice.

Let’s take the Nazis for example: over a period of time and by a series of complex political and social occurrences and maneuvers  the Jew became Germany’s scapegoat. Getting rid of Jews (and priests, and gypsies, and homosexuals, and the mentally and physically disabled, etc.) was a necessary sacrifice to make Germany better, more prosperous, and safer.

The exterminations took place somewhere else, where the average Berlin shop girl couldn’t see and wonder at the clusters of buildings surrounded by barbed wire, the oily smoke rising from the chimneys.

“How can you possibly write that?” some of you are screaming at your monitors. “How dare you diminish the suffering of the Holocaust?”

I’m not diminishing anything. You are. Because history repeats itself, and denial is very human.

Murder is murder whatever stage of development the human victim.

Whereas the Nazis were responsible for the wholesale murder of more than 6 million Jews, those today who support the practice of abortion homicide are no less complicit in the systematic slaughter of 55-million-and-counting equally precious human beings post Roe v. Wade. The parallels are undeniable and the science unequivocal. Murder is murder whatever stage of development the human victim.

The stark similarities between the two holocausts were lost on neither Dietrich Bonhoeffer nor Eric Metaxas. “Destruction of the embryo in the mother’s womb is a violation of the right to live which God has bestowed upon this nascent life,” wrote Bonhoeffer in “Ethics,” his very last book.

“To raise the question whether we are here concerned already with a human being or not is merely to confuse the issue. The simple fact is that God certainly intended to create a human being and that this nascent human being has been deliberately deprived of his life. And that is nothing but murder,” he concluded.

Indeed, Psalm 139:13 says, “For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb.”

So it occurs to me that those who call themselves “pro-life” and put faith to action in defense of innocent persons – as did Dietrich Bonhoeffer – honor both the memory of this Christian martyr and the God he served. They have picked up his mantle. They are continuing his noble work.

By contrast, if pro-lifers are modern-day Dietrich Bonhoeffers, then what does that make abortion supporters? In the years leading up to and during World War II, many Germans – who were otherwise generally good people – succumbed to Nazi propaganda and acquiesced to the horrific Jewish persecution that escalated from a slow boil to a red-hot torrent around them. In effect, they bought into exactly the same kind of dehumanizing, euphemistic semantical garbage embraced by those who today call themselves “pro-choice.”

Mind-boggling is the human capacity to rationalize genocide.

Ignorance, incompetence, and malice: First, Obama offends Catholics. Now he insults the Polish people.

Poles and Polish-Americans expressed outraged Tuesday at President Obama’s reference earlier that day to “a Polish death camp” – as opposed to a Nazi death camp in German-occupied Poland.

“The White House will apologize for this outrageous error,” Foreign Minister Radek Sikorski tweeted.  Sikorski said that Polish Prime Minister Donald “Tusk will make a statement in the morning. It’s a pity that this important ceremony was upstaged by ignorance and incompetence.”

Editor’s note: This president just can’t help it. He insults and disrespects anyone and anything that is morally good, while personally promoting and attempting to normalize the most vile and disgusting abominations and perversions of modern society.

Yes indeed, change has come to America, and it’s certainly not for the better!

I’m sorry, my elder brothers in faith, the Holocaust was not all about you. You don’t get to define what can and cannot be said about the Holocaust.

The Holocaust killed 12 million people.

It killed 6 million Jews.

It killed 3 million Catholics.

It killed 3 million Orthodox.

Jews unlikely to accept striking new evidence of Pope Pius XII’s saving work

The astonishing, almost unknown story of hundreds of Jewish refugees, shipwrecked in the Aegean Sea, who turned to Pope Pius XII for help

Editor’s note: This is nothing new. Jews have also typically been unwilling to accept evidence of Jesus Christ’s saving work.

How the Nazis attempted to co-opt authentic Christianity for their own nefarious purposes

Once in power, the Nazis immediately started rewriting the Christian dogmas. First of all, they took up genealogy of Jesus Christ. The Son of God had become a preacher of Nazi ideas. Naturally, all references to the Jewish roots of Jesus were crossed out.

Several theories were made up. According to one of them, Christ was the son of a Roman legionary. Another claimed that the ancestors of Jesus came from the Caucasus.

In 1939 in Eisenach the Nazis created a special theological Institute dedicated to eliminate anything Jewish. The employees of the institute crossed out all references to the Jewish role in Christianity from the biblical texts.

Walter Grundmann, Director of the Institute, said that the Gospel Jesus must become the “savior of only our own, the German people.” “Gott mit uns,” coined on the Wehrmacht belt buckles and the Waffen-SS meant just that. God was only on the side of the Nazi movement.

Jesus on the cross declared “The definitive Yom Kippur”. Cardinal Koch refuses to knuckle under to anti-Catholic Jewish leaders.

The first U.S. appearance by the Vatican’s new chief liaison to world Jewry has left some key Christian and Jewish interfaith officials angry and distressed.

Cardinal Kurt Koch told an audience at Seton Hall University, in New Jersey, that many Jews approve the potential canonization of the controversial Holocaust-era Pope Pius XII.

Koch, who was appointed by Pope Benedict XVI, added that the long-demanded opening of the Vatican’s Holocaust-era archives would not shed more light on Pius’ Nazi-era actions. “The very important things [that need to be] said are said and on the table,” Koch said.

Editor’s note: Perhaps if the good Cardinal would have publicly denied Jesus Christ and cursed Pope Pius XII, the Jewish leaders might have been a bit less disturbed! The real question now is, “Precisely how will the Judaisers inside the Catholic Church attack Cardinal Koch.”

The “bright spot” of the meeting: The cardinal’s assertions — plus others such as that Jews can look upon the cross as “the definitive Yom Kippur”— were met with either blank expressions or grumbling from the audience of about 60 rabbis, priests, theologians and specialists in interfaith dialogue.

Oh, to be a fly on the wall, at that meeting! Here’s to you, “plain speaking” Cardinal Koch. It’s certainly about time somebody once again stood up and boldly declared the ancient Christian faith to the original “stiff-necked people”.

Israeli diplomat praises Pope Pius XII for saving thousands of Jews during the Holocaust

Apparently breaking with a taboo among critics of the Catholic Church and of Pope Pius XII – who reigned during the Second World War and the Holocaust – Israel’s ambassador to the Vatican has recognized that the pontiff did actually save thousands of Jews during the years of Nazi predation.

Ambassador Mordechai Lewy affirmed on June 23 that “as of the raid of 16 October 1943 and the days following in the ghetto of Rome, the monasteries and orphanages of the religious orders opened their doors to Jews, and we have reason to believe that this occurred under the supervision of the highest authorities of the Vatican, who were aware of these measures.” The diplomat spoke at a ceremony in which a Catholic priest, Gaetano Piccinini of the order founded by Don Orione, was post-humously awarded a medal honoring him as numbering among righteous Gentiles.

Feticide is recommended prior to the evacuation of the uterus to stop the fetal heart.

…every now and then, something particularly cold from the abortionist world will get in through the security fence.

The cool, clinical description in this Department of Health statistics report of stopping the “fetal heart” as a necessary preliminary to vacuuming out the child, was one of those for me today. I realise it’s becoming a tired analogy, but does this language not in fact rival for clarity that used by the Death Camp officials? The Nazis used euphemistic terms like “special treatment”.

The UK health department has dropped all pretense that they don’t know precisely what they are talking about.

Great WWII story of Irish priest assigned to the Vatican who frustrated the Nazis.

He was Monsignor Hugh O’Flaherty, a tall (6ft 2ins) humourous-looking Irish man from Kerry. He had tousled hair that stood up like a brush’s bristles, eyes which twinkled through his thin-rimmed glasses and a fixed cherubic smile. Almost Father Ted material.

O’Flaherty made it his practice to stand on the steps of St Peter’s every evening, overlooking the great square in his black and red Monsignor’s robes, reading – or seeming to read – his breviary. People would come up to talk and keep him informed of escaped prisoners who needed hiding places.

Having served in the Vatican since the Twenties, he had contacts and friends in high places throughout Rome. Furthermore, the Vatican’s neutral territory included not only the rambling warren of St Peter’s but 150 other properties, monasteries, convents and religious houses scattered through the city. All possible hidey-holes.

The problem with abortion

Dred Scott declared that human persons with black skin were not actually human persons, but only 3/5 human. Adolf Hitler and the Nazis decided that human persons who were of Jewish heritage were not actually human persons, but some kind of pest or rodent that needed exterminating. Roe v. Wade pronounced that human persons who were in the first nine months of their human development were not human persons unless their mother decided they were.

Archives Show Church Excommunicated Nazis

NEW YORK, APRIL 16, 2010 (Zenit.org).- An interreligious group trying to discover the facts regarding Pope Pius XII and his efforts to help Jews during World War II has announced the discovery of documents showing how the Church excommunicated Catholics who joined the Nazis.

The New-York based Pave the Way Foundation said that its representative Michael Hesemann found a large series of documents from 1930 to 1933.

The documents indicate that any Catholic who joined the Nazi party, wore the uniform or flew the swastika flag would no longer be able to receive the sacraments.

This policy set three years before Hitler was elected chancellor made clear that the teachings of the Church were incompatible with Nazi ideology.

“The documents clearly show an ideological war between the Catholic Church and National Socialism already in the pre-war decade,” Hesemann explained. “The German bishops and the Roman Curia considered the Nazi doctrine not only as incompatible with the Christian faith, but also as hostile to the Church and dangerous to human morals, even more than Communism.”

Among the documents is a handwritten letter from a leading member of the Nazis, Hermann Goering, requesting a meeting with Cardinal Eugenio Pacelli (the future Pius XII), which was flatly refused.

There are also documents asking for a removal of the excommunication, which was also denied.

Editor’s note: The abortionists have already killed at least five times more people than were killed in WWII. When is the Catholic Church going to start excommunicating the Pelosis, the Cuomos, the Leahys, the Durbins, the Kennedys, and the like?

HAARETZ: Editorial in defense of Ven. Pius XII

The campaign against Pope Pius XII is doomed to failure because his detractors cannot sustain their main charges against him – that he was silent, pro-Nazi, and did little or nothing to help the Jews – with evidence. Perhaps only in a backward world such as ours would the one man who did more than any other wartime leader to help Jews and other Nazi victims, receive the greatest condemnation.

Daley tells Cardinal George to “buzz off”

w-daley-large

Willam Daley evidently thinks that abortion, infanticide, and the wanton destruction of human embryos are paltry little issues about which the Catholic Church should remain silent, and in his Tribune op-ed piece he pretty much tells the Cardinal to sit down and shut up about it.

Cardinal Francis George recently said this invitation is an embarrassment to Catholics because the president disagrees with church doctrine on abortion and stem-cell research. But I believe Cardinal George’s stand is an embarrassment to Chicago Catholics and furthers the divide among the church, its members and the rest of America.”

Looking Back: The 2009 March For Life

marchforlife2009

Hi Doug,

The photo spread was awesome! My favorite is of the little girl in the pink hat on her mom’s shoulders holding the sign.

Looking for you was like looking for Waldo!  I didn’t find you…are you in any of the pics and I just didn’t see you?

How was it? I’m sure it was a great experience.  I was really looking forward to possibly taking some of the youth this year, but God had a different plan for me!!

*******

We had a very large sign and all four of us we were loosely “attached” to a big oak tree that was situated at the very start of the march, staying put until all of the other marchers had stepped off. Only then did we make our way over to the Supreme Court.

I think Barbara the “photo lady” was all through by then.

My friend David S. and his family crafted the sign. It was about 5 feet by 10 feet in size. Once assembled it tended to blow around, so it was a handful for three or four people. Great sign, though!

An interesting march. Very well attended, where a number of specific needs of the Pro-Life movement became painfully apparent, mainly due to the new and overtly hostile political climate towards life these days, in Washington.

I removed my “Ask Me About God” button and infiltrated the little pro-death demonstration team that Planned Parenthood sponsors near the end of the march, each year.

Making small talk and asking questions, it quickly became clear that these guys have no regard for anything except themselves.

They are really depraved. Purely political. Blood means nothing to them, nor does the wholesale death and destruction of innocents. No humanity at all. No regard for God, and nothing but scorn for the Church.

The “older” women (those over 30 or so) all had rather dark mustaches! These were the “handlers”. A mustache must be some sort of a “secret” badge of rank.

The rest (all 20 of them) were young people … paid demonstrators from local colleges … and they knew little about what they were doing, or why.

They seemed to hate all things male (unless the “male” happened to be homosexual) and they just want to do what they want to do, without any interference from anyone.

All the more reason to repeal Roe vs.Wade, and to protect society from senseless death and destruction at the hands of these wanton killers.

The Cult of Obama will not survive the Pro-Life movement. These guys should surrender, before their decrepit position on this issue leads to their own destruction.

The Pharaoh of Exodus comes to mind, as do the Nazis, along with the Antichrist of the Book of Revelation.

If Obama turns out to be true to his word on abortion, I predict the current economic problems he’s facing will seem like “a walk in the park” before it’s all over.

Look for a dogmatic, “Ex Cathedra” statement from the Pope on abortion, in the near future. It’s certainly about time!

Is Tax Exemption the New Thirty Pieces of Silver?

Pope Pius XI and the future Pope Pius XII warned Germany about this madman.

Will Catholic bishops warn America about the madmen running for office this November?

Before November, America Needs It’s Own “Mit Brennender Sorge”

Or is Tax Exemption the New Thirty Pieces of Silver?

by Dr. Peter Frey

(Posted August 28, 2008 http://www.RemnantNewspaper.com) Throughout history, there have been repeated clashes between the Catholic Church and secular governments of one form or another. In several cases, priests and bishops stood up courageously to challenge an all-powerful despotism. Two English bishops, St Thomas Becket and St John Fisher, did this at the cost of their lives: Becket for defending the temporal rights of the Church versus King Henry II, Fisher the lone prelate to oppose the usurpation of Church power by Henry VIII by opposing his adulterous marriage. In the twentieth century, a similar clash developed between the Church and Nazi Germany.

The venerable and courageous Pope Pius XI drafted an encyclical with the title “Mit Brennender Sorge” (“With burning concern”) addressed to the German episcopate. The actual author was the then Secretary of State, Eugenio Cardinal Pacelli, the future Pope Pius XII. Written in German, rather than Latin as was customary, the encyclical condemned the racist and pagan atheism of the Nazi regime, and the exaltation of the state or the “Volk” above God and Church. The document was smuggled into Germany and was read from the pulpit of every German church at Mass on Passion Sunday, 1937. Thus the Pope’s views on the totalitarian state were made known PUBLICLY. No German Catholic could claim ignorance of the Church’s teaching, nor did it leave any “wiggle room” for equivocation or “misunderstanding.” Reading it at Sunday Mass was a dramatic method to inform German Catholics. It caused a huge reaction across the country, and quite obviously enraged Hitler and his regime, which then began an intense persecution of the Church.

Today in the United States, there is another conflict between the stated views of society on important issues, the most important of which are abortion and homosexuality versus the teachings of the church. Ever since the Roe vs. Wade court decision, American society has created a “right” for women to “choose” an abortion. Several states have passed laws changing the concept of holy matrimony beyond its God-defined end as between one man and one woman. In Catholic moral teaching, NO ONE, and no state has any authority over the moral order or the natural law. Thus American society and the Roman Catholic Church are on a collision course.

What is most alarming is the fact that, unlike Nazi Germany, we live in a free society, where the citizen can exercise his rights, where open elections are held, and where civic responsibility is part of our national heritage. With the Church’s teaching being very well known, with instant media access, no one in America can claim not to know what is going on concerning these important civil and moral issues.
