Pope Benedict promotes his new book by making controversial statements about Christmas

Nothing at all about condoms, this time, thank God!

Editor’s note: Has the pope declared his own “War on Christmas” merely to promote his latest book?  A complete lack of animals in the stable would logically require that the very pregnant Blessed Virgin Mary would have walked the 80 or so miles, from Nazareth to Bethlehem.  That’s roughly the equivalent of walking from Chicago to Milwaukee.

Why is this news? Sister’s book is contrary to the authentic Catholic faith.

Sister Johnson is a prominent feminist theologian and a former president of the Catholic Theological Society of America and the American Theological Society, an ecumenical organization. She belongs to a religious order in New York, the Sisters of St. Joseph of Brentwood.

The Rev. Thomas Weinandy, executive director of the bishops’ Secretariat for Doctrine, said in an interview: “The primary concern was not over feminism or nonfeminism. The bishops are saying that the book does not adequately treat a Catholic understanding of God.”

Editor’s note: The simple fact is, a huge number of today’s Catholic sisters are Catholic in name only, and that poses a serious danger to the spiritual welfare of the Catholic faithful.

Pope’s new book makes NY Times Bestseller list

Rave reviews so far, from Protestants and Jews. And the New York Times gives it a 10!

Catholics … as usual … aren’t sure.

The only thing I’m not sure of is this: Why does the Supreme Pontiff  of the Church feel the need to write a personal, non-authoritative, speculative theological work … when he should instead be declaring infallible Catholic truth to a world so sorely in need of it?

Muslims Mum About Pope’s New Book.

Then again, Muslims maintain that Jesus Christ was either 1) Surreptitiously replaced by a “stand-in” and was never (himself) crucified; or 2) Was indeed crucified … but only “swooned” … later recovering from his wounds.

So, in the Muslim mind, there’s really nothing to exonerate.

Of course, recovering from a Roman spear shoved clean through your heart and lungs … with no medical attention … and after only 3 nights rest … still ought to qualify as some sort of a really big miracle … don’t you think?

I can’t help wondering why some Muslim cleric hasn’t yet taken the pope to task over his “false exoneration”.

But hey … there’s still time!

Pope Benedict XVI’s hype of new book worthy of Madison Avenue “Mad Men”.

Who would have thought that pope would have the guts to hype his new book as shamelessly as a Madison Avenue advertising maven?

Was the recent condom controversy merely the first phase of a “killer” promotional campaign?

Will any of the pope’s obvious talent ever “rub off” on L’Osservatore Romano (the Vatican Newspaper) … and will the pope now move to exonerate “The Blues Brothers” … “The Simpsons” … Jimmy Carter … and Charlie Sheen?

What will the Muslims think of the pope’s alleged “Exoneration of the Jews”?

Will Muslims now demand that the pope exonerate them?

Could this be some sort of a bold, new, ecumenical initiative?

Will the pope now get his own weekly cable TV series .. or perhaps, a major motion picture? (Think: “The Exoneration of Emily Rose”“The Exonerator”“Wheel of Exoneration”.

Will the pope shortly call “Vatican III”?

Is Benedict XVI really that savvy, or is this part of some mysterious (and much bigger) master plan?

Abby Johnson: New memoir explaining why she left abortion industry and why she’s becoming Catholic.

College Station, Texas, Jan 13, 2011 / 06:05 am (CNA).- Despite legal challenges and personal attacks from Planned Parenthood, Abby Johnson has published a new memoir explaining why she left the abortion industry to join the ranks of the pro-life movement. Going even further, she’s also rejected contraception, and decided to enter the Catholic Church.

Johnson’s new book, “UnPlanned,” hit stores on Jan. 11, 2011, one day after the Texas-based activist addressed more than 20,000 listeners in an online broadcast. The Catholic publisher Ignatius Press has released a special edition of the book, with extra material including a foreword by Fr. Frank Pavone of Priests For Life.

Pope Benedict: “Stunned by Church’s wretchedness.” Why I’m Not Buying It!

Why I’m Not Buying It!

In his new book, Pope Benedict claims to be “stunned by how wretched the Church is, by how much her members fail to follow Christ.” What the Pope failed to admit is that liberalism always leads to corruption and wretchedness.

For that matter, the liberals in the church used the 2nd Vatican Council … particularly its aftermath … to take over the church, and change virtually everything that came before. And it certainly was not for the better!

Then Father Ratzinger was one (perhaps even the ring-leader) of those liberals. For over 40 years, in his writings, in his politics, and in his actions, he remained a staunch advocate for many of the most ridiculous post-Vatican II “innovations”.

Bishop Karol Wojtyla (later, Pope John Paul II) and many others, were right there with him … working side by side … dismantling 2000 years of successful, traditional Catholicism … brick by brick … altar rail by altar rail … recreating the Catholic church in their own image and likeness.

Saul Alynsky would have been proud.

And now as pope, Father Ratzinger, in his latest book, wistfully looks back, and says he is “stunned”!

Yeah. Right!

I’m not buying it … and I’m not buying his new book, either!
