In Illinois, we just got what we were (evidently) praying for – and it’s not good!

by Doug Lawrence

Pat Quinn, the first homosexual Governor of Illinois, signed the same sex marriage bill into law, last week.

“How did things come to this?” I asked myself.

Then I remembered the seemingly innocuous little prayer that’s said before every Mass, at my local parish. That prayer covered a lot of ground. Come to think of it – I never really liked the way it sounded. Kind of “mealy-mouth”.

Now it was time for a closer look!

And there is was: “We pray for people of all nations. Fill their hearts with the desire to ensure justice and equality for all…”

As the sage rightly reminds us – be careful what you pray for – you just might get it!

Is Pat Quinn Illinois’ first openly homosexual governor?

Although the legislation says it would not force any religious denomination or minister to “solemnize any marriage,” Gilligan warned of “promises” made “two years ago when civil unions were passed, and now Catholic Charities has been kicked out of its mission of serving children in foster care.”

Even though the Church received assurances its social services would not be affected, within six months of the passage of civil unions in the state, Catholic Charities adoption services was barred from working with the state.

While Illinois Gov. Pat Quinn has already pledged to sign the bill should it arrive on his desk, its fate in the House is unsure. Even though it too is controlled by Democrats who support the bill, it is expected to face tougher opposition in that chamber.

Illinois’ Pat Quinn nominated for title of worst governor in the nation

In a crowded field, Pat Quinn, Democrat Governor of Illinois, can now officially be proclaimed the worst governor in the United States.

He has been vying for the title ever since he took over from impeached and removed Governor Blagojevich, currently bound for a long stay in federal prison.  Since taking over from his felon predecessor, he has the following accomplishments to his discredit:

Quinn’s latest hijinks

Carol Marin opines over criticism of Quinn, mainly because it also applies to her.

In her Chicago Sun-Times article, Marin maintains, in-part:

Insufficiently respecting the role of women is a problem for the men who run the church.

The Vatican inquisition of American Catholic nuns comes immediately to mind. As does last year’s excommunication of Sister Margaret McBride by the bishop of Phoenix. Her crime was concluding, on the ethics committee of St. Joseph’s Hospital in Arizona, that only an abortion would save the life of a pregnant mother of four children.

As Margaret Steinfels, co-director of Religion and Culture at Fordham University, observed in the National Catholic Reporter in January, “A lot of people think the bishops haven’t the foggiest idea of what it means to be pregnant, or to be pregnant and sick, or to be pregnant and dying.”

Editor’s note: Carol Marin probably doesn’t remember the exact moment she sold out her Catholic faith for the cause of liberalism, but her article pretty much confirms it.

Not once does she mention the fact that “pro-choice” means giving license to people to willfully and wantonly slaughter innocent babies, that the men who run the church don’t need to be women to make critical moral judgments when it comes to things like abortion and murder, and that Sister McBride grievously erred in her professional judgment, because an abortion wasn’t necessary in that case, at all.

Marin also fails to mention that Personal PAC’s honoring the rape victim is merely a crass political ploy … payback for the “victim’s” willingness to act as a “poster girl” for Illinois abortion rights during Quinn’s campaign.

She (Goodman) wasn’t pregnant, and at this point, I’m beginning to doubt that she was actually raped! This IS after all, Illinois, the home state of Obama, Ryan, Resco, Blagoyevich, Daley, Durbin, and the Madigans. Stranger things have indeed, happened!

Making an emotional plea in the face of irrefutable facts to the contrary is a time-honored liberal tactic, one that works especially well in the Land of Lincoln. Marin knows that, and she has done it many, many times before, shilling for the powers that be.

If Marin or Quinn show up at my church and try to go to communion, they better bring their hand-picked, liberal, bought and paid for, Oak Park priest with them, because according to Canon 915 and Canon 212, there’s absolutely no reason why any Catholic should permit such an open, public scandal (and desecration) to take place.

A much more valid criticism of the bishops is that they’ve waited much too long to take scandalous Catholics like Marin, Quinn, Daley, Durbin, et al, to task.

When you let these guys get away with doing bad stuff for so long, their consciences get twisted, their hearts get hardened, they become emboldened, and it becomes almost impossible to correct them.

Just another example of widespread corruption and high-level stinkin’ thinkin’ in the Land of Lincoln!

Ilinois Governor Quinn gives keys to henhouse to pro abort “fox” Terry Cosgrove

Governor Quinn has just nominated Terry Cosgrove, president of Personal PAC — Illinois’ most powerful pro-abortion lobbying group — to sit on the Human Rights Commission.

That’s bad enough, but get this: Personal PAC donated over $400,000 to Governor Quinn’s campaign for governor last year!

This is pay-to-play politics at its worst!

Help stop this horrible appointment! Call the members of the Senate Executive Appointments Committee and tell them to OPPOSE Terry Cosgrove’s nomination to the Human Rights Commission.

It is long past time for Catholics, Jews, Protestants, and secular humanists to give Planned Parenthood the long goodbye.

…my heroic wife Mary fired her female obstetrician who suggested that she abort our son, because she was certain he would be born either with Downs Syndrome or spina bifida. Mary cut this elegant and trendy broad to ribbons -verbally, of course – and sent her packing. “So the Hell What? This is my Child, you bitch!” That is the clean version.

Abortion has become the cosmetic make-over for inconvenience and Americans have no patience for inconvenience. We of peasant stock understand and celebrate the inconvenience of children -healthy, sick, nice, mean, handsome and homely, they are all beautiful!

That said, I detest Planned Parenthood. They are a political PAC. One third of its funding was made available by politicians like Sen. Dick Durbin through federal funding and, more shame on me, channeled and directed here in Illinois by Gov. Pat Quinn, for whom I supported, worked and voted.

Both politicians are Irish Catholic Democrats who accept Planned Parenthood’s blood money. Polish Catholic Congressman Dan Lipinski refuses it – God Bless Him!

Now, every Democratic candidate for mayor is supported by Planned Parenthood -Chico, Braun, DeValle, Emanuel, Walls. Chico was born Catholic, but I believe he converted to Judaism – making only DeValle the Catholic in the crowd. Miguel De Valle is the IVI-IPO Progressive Blue Chip Candidate and therefore Planned Parenthood approved.

Given the recent light shed on the horrors that are Planned Parenthood ( New York, Philly Kermit Gosnell’s Slaughter of living babies and videos), is it not time for Catholic Chicago to ask some questions of the next mayor – whoever that may be?
