More drama at Chicago abortion mill

…an ambulance came down Carmen Avenue and turned into the clinic alley. I pulled out my phone to get a picture and got one shot as the ambulance pulled just past the clinic gate to the back door of the facility.

Then the escorts came quickly to where I was standing on the sidewalk just west of the alley. They started blocking my way and my camera.

As I tried to walk down the alley to get a better picture of the ambulance, these two escorts stayed right in front of me, not a foot from me, dancing and weaving, shouting obscenities, etc. I continued to dodge around them and walk through the alley.

Every time I tried to get a picture they would waive their arms and put their hands in front of the camera, all the time taunting me with comments like, “I wish I was your granddaughter so I could sneak in and poison your cookies.” Or, “Your mother should have aborted you.” “You are a predator, a bottom feeder. Finally one of the escorts hit my arm.

The situation was a little scary, since I was the only pro-lifer in the alley. But I knew my husband Joe was on his way. I texted Joe to let him know about the ambulance and that I was in the alley.

40 Days for Life sidewalk counselor arrested on orders from Chicago’s Planned Parenthood

As a group of us were assembled to pray during the 40 Days for Life vigil taking place outside the Albany Medical Surgical Center abortion facility in Chicago, we were taken by surprise when Albany manager Diana Maracick angrily walked right through the middle of our prayer group on her way into the clinic.

Shortly afterward, four police cars arrived. Apparently, Diana had called the police because one of our sidewalk counselors, 64-year old Anna Marie Mesia, had been standing in the public alley adjacent to the Albany facility, talking to a client in the parking lot.

By this time the police arrived, Anna Marie had left the alley, walked past the prayer group, and was standing near the other entrance to Albany’s parking lot along Elston Avenue.

The police approached her, told her she was under arrest, ordered her to place her hands behind her back, and handcuffed her. In obvious discomfort, she was then placed in a squad car.

Her crime? Supposedly, Anna Marie had violated Chicago’s “bubble zone” ordinance.

Editor’s note: Such is life in Chicago … also known as “The People’s Republic of Emanuel” where deadly abortion mills are protected  and human rights trampled, according to the whims of those in power.

Coming to America? Swiss March for Life attacked. Anarchists repelled by police..

Police in Zurich, Switzerland were forced to use water cannons and tear gas against anti-life protesters who tried to disrupt a recent March for Life of about a thousand pro-life supporters marching through the streets of the Swiss capital.

“Although the anti-life protesters were out-numbered by pro-lifers at least ten-to-one, police had to take measures to maintain order, a few times resorting to water cannons and tear gas, because protesters were entering the plaza where pro-lifers gathered, and were behaving in a threatening way,” said Joannes Bucher, the European regional director of Human Life International (HLI), who participated in the march.

Priest: “I expected more from the only state claiming to be a democracy in the Middle East.”

French Catholic church Maison D’Abraham in east Jerusalem is accusing the Israel Police of failing to investigate robbery and harassment complaints filed by the church recently.

“The Israel Police are not protecting us,” the church’s director, Father Michael O’Sullivan, told Ynet. “Only in the past month we had two incidents with a large Volvo truck which intentionally hit our entrance gate and escaped. After the second incident we filed a complaint with the police, but nothing happened. They didn’t even send a policeman here to look into our claims.”

Maison D’Abraham, a serene oasis in the midst of the Ras al-Amud neighborhood, was founded in 1964 at the request of Pope Paul VI during his visit to the Holy Land. In his vision, the pope saw the church as a place which would fulfill the needs of Christian pilgrims visiting Jerusalem without financial means.

Every year, thousands of tourists from all around the world visit the church, which also serves as a guesthouse. Recently, however, the church and its tenants have been suffering from harassment and theft.

According to Father O’Sullivan, the recent incidents are only a few examples of the lawlessness the church’s tenants are forced to live with. “We suffer from burglaries, theft and harassments, but the police are not doing anything or just pretending to be doing something. About two years ago we caught a thief red-handed, turned him into the police, but he was released the next day. Two months later he began stealing again.”

Preacher outside abortion clinic climbs into tree to avoid cops

On Saturday, July 17, cops would not allow Wallace to drive his pickup onto the public right-of-way to preach which he says he has been able to do for years.

Instead, he sat on a step ladder to preach to the people.  Police asked him to come down and arrested him when he refused to comply.   Wallace told the cops they were violating his first amendment right.

On Tuesday, Wallace returned to the abortion clinic with his step ladder in tow.  When cops ordered him to stop preaching from the ladder, Wallace climbed into a nearby tree.

He had a big sign up in the tree which read, “Abortion exists because good people do nothing.”

Pro-Lifers Push Back Against Chicago “Bubble Zone”

Planned Parenthood may have gotten the Chicago City Council to enact a Bubble Zone around the abortion clinics, but time and time again they’ve found that they didn’t get the law they wanted.

This week was another excellent case in point.

Pro-Lifers Take Time To Counsel Mid-Week

Pro-lifers David and Darlene went to the Planned Parenthood location on Division and LaSalle to pray and counsel last Thursday. This location performs abortions six days a week, but usually pro-lifers are only there on Saturdays. This means the “clinic escorts” (”deathscorts”) are also only there on Saturdays. Coming mid-week, then, means pro-lifers can have uninterrupted conversations with clients.

David sent us his account of the day and of the police department’s efforts to “enforce” the Bubble Zone:

Grand theft auto …

The light turned yellow, just in front of him. He did the right thing, stopping at the crosswalk, even though he could have beaten the red light by accelerating through the intersection.

The tailgating woman was furious and honked her horn, screaming in frustration, as she missed her chance to get through the intersection, dropping her cell phone and makeup.

As she was still in mid-rant, she heard a tap on her window and looked up into the face of a very serious police officer. The officer ordered her to exit her car with her hands up..

He took her to the police station where she was searched, fingerprinted, photographed, and placed in a holding cell.

After a couple of hours, a policeman approached the cell and opened the door. She was escorted back to the booking desk where the arresting officer was waiting with her personal effects.

He said, ”I’m very sorry for this mistake. You see, I pulled up behind your car while you were blowing your horn, flipping off the guy in front of you and cussing a blue streak at him. I noticed the ‘What Would Jesus Do’ bumper sticker, the ‘Choose Life’ license plate holder, the ‘Follow Me to Sunday-School’ bumper sticker, and the chrome-plated Christian fish emblem on the trunk, so naturally….I assumed you had stolen the car.”
