Lord, for whom all things are possible,
We are confronted once again today
With the evil of the abortion industry
And the corruption found
In the world’s largest abortion business, Planned Parenthood.

Lord, we pray for all who plan to be parents,
And we ask your mercy on those
Who teach others to reject parenthood.

In the light of your Word, Lord,
We affirm today that children are a blessing from you,
And that the origin of all parenthood
Is likewise in You, the God of life and love.

Therefore, Oh God,
We stand against the evil that has been exposed
In Planned Parenthood
And in the entire abortion industry.

We stand today for the triumph
Of truth over falsehood,
Of light over darkness,
And of life over death.

Bring an end to the killing of children in the womb,
And bring an end to the sale of their body parts.
Bring conversion to all who do this,
And enlightenment to all who advocate it.

Close the doors of the death camps in our midst,
And open the doors of your mercy and healing!
Close the grisly trade in baby body parts,
And open the abundant gifts of your salvation and life!

Hasten the day when our land
Will no longer be stained with innocent blood,
And when the bodies of all your children
Will be raised from the dead
And set free forever.

Father Pavone: The pro-life message will not harm our children. What will harm them, however, is the “pro-choice” mentality…

He points out that, while parents are the primary educators of their children, they have an obligation not to withhold important truths from their children — including the truth about abortion. He shares:

I know of another case in which parental permission was obtained for all the students in the class, except one, to see a photo of an aborted baby. After school the student whose parents had denied permission insisted that her friend let her see the picture. On returning home she passionately challenged her mom, “Why did you not want me to see what is really happening to these babies! Why was I not allowed to see the truth?”

Just growing up in a society where he or she could have been aborted — where value is placed on lives based on wantedness or so-called unwantedness– Fr. Pavone notes, has been shown to have a psychological impact on the young generations. This is one reason why it is particularly important to be open about  abortion with our children.

This week and next, Priests for Life is announcing new efforts in the pro-life education of the clergy and laity. Building on the work of the last two decades, Priests for Life will present renewed initiatives to train people how to live out their commitment to protecting human life. “The pro-life effort is not simply a cause, a movement, or a political position,” explained Fr. Frank Pavone, National Director of Priests for Life. “All that has its place. But pro-life is, at its core, a spirituality. The Gospels and the teachings of the Church not only teach us why we are pro-life; they teach us how to live it. Their birthdays – and their lives – were most cruelly and brutally stolen

The Pro-Life Action League, along with Citizens for a Pro-Life Society and Priests for Life has announced the “National Day of Remembrance for Aborted Children” to take place on Saturday, September 14, 2013. It is meant to honor the unborn at the grave sites where they are buried.

Eric Scheidler, Executive Director of the Pro-life Action League, stated, “It’s sobering to realize that grave markers for the unborn victims of abortion list only a date of burial. They have no birthdays because they were never allowed to be born. We can list no date of death, because those who killed them discarded their bodies like garbage. But they are not garbage to us. They are our brothers and sisters. That’s why we buried them, and that’s why we visit their graves to mourn for them and testify to their humanity.”

Students for Life of America will honor Father Frank Pavone, National Director of Priests for Life, with its 2013 Defender of Life award.

The award will be bestowed Jan. 26 during SFLA’s annual National Youth Conference in Bethesda, Md.

“Throughout Father Frank’s ministry he has been a leader, a visionary, and a courageously outspoken voice for the preborn,” the organization said in a statement announcing the award. “His ground-breaking work exposing the true horrors of abortion through images of the aborted child, his countless hours standing and praying outside of abortion facilities offering women in crisis real help, and his great compassion for the women and men left with the heartache of abortion have inspired a generation to enter into the pro-life movement.”

At the invitation of various Catholic groups, I will spend the next couple of days traveling in Ohio, preaching the Gospel of Life, energizing the People of Life in Ohio to make their voices heard, and …

… urging as many people as I possibly can to VOTE PRO-LIFE ON NOVEMBER 6 and in every election!

As the mainstream media promotes the lie that opposing abortion is an “extremist” position, it is critically important that the people of America be reminded of the following facts:

1. Our own Declaration of Independence is founded on this pro-life principle:

“We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator

with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are LIFE, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.”

2. That the first of mankind’s God-given unalienable Rights is the RIGHT TO LIFE!

3. That the RIGHT TO LIFE is the fundamental human right, and the one upon which all other human rights are based. Without the protection of the right to life, no other discussion of human rights can continue.

4. And finally, that abortion corrupts our whole society and retards progress on all the other issues that concern them … including the economy!

In addition, I will re-state the points Cardinal Renato Martino made in an interview I conducted with him about politics and elections.

As we approach Election Day, some – even within the Church – will distort and hide the fact that the Church (and common sense, by the way) make it crystal clear that the right to life is the most foundational good to preserve in any election.

Without life, we don’t have anything.

That’s the message I will be delivering to Ohioans throughout this week. Our other priests and Pastoral Associates are in other states — and on EWTN — preaching the same truth.

We need you standing alongside us as we go all out in this final week to make sure our fellow Americans take their pro-life values with them when they enter the voting booth next Tuesday.

Man who threatened Father Pavone, others, pleads guilty. May serve more than 4 years in jail.

Theodore Shulman, 51, could be headed to prison for at least 51 months for threatening pro-life Princeton University professor Robert George and Father Frank Pavone, the national director of Priests for Life. He was arrested in February 2011 and has been held without bail ever since.

The threats against the pro-life advocates, made on the web site of a conservative magazine, said Pavone and George would be killed if the killer of late-term abortion practitioner George Tiller was acquitted.

Six pro-life marchers arrested in front of the White House – for kneeling, in prayer.

Among those arrested were a Catholic priest, Father Denis Wilde, the Associate Director of Priests for Life; and Presbyterian minister, the Reverend Patrick Mahoney, Director of the Christian Defense Coalition.
LifeSiteNews.com is reporting that a total of six pro-life protestors were charged and arrested for “disobeying a lawful order,” and eventually released after paying a $100 fine apiece.
Fr. Wilde stated that it is legal to protest in front of the Executive Mansion, but only if the protestors are physically in motion.
As the Catholic cleric explained, it’s legal to walk, but illegal to kneel and pray.

Eight PA Residents Join Missionaries of the Gospel of Life

YORK, PA — Peg Pritchard’s secret? The personal invitation.

Eight men and women made their promises as Missionaries of Evangelium Vitae (MEV) on Saturday at St. Joseph’s Church here. Last year, 13 made promises. Next year? Who knows, but people already have told Mrs. Pritchard they would like to be part of her next Life Cell.

“I guess the numbers are good,” said Mrs. Pritchard, who made her promise in 2008, along with her friend and Life Cell co-facilitator Vicki Crispo. “There is such a passion that we have, that I think people see it and know it and feel it. When people ask me about MEV, I say, ‘Maybe you should consider it. Just come and see.’ The personal invitation works very well.”

For the Missionaries of the Gospel of Life (“Evangelium Vitae”), a ministry of New York-based Priests for Life, clergy and laity devote 10 months to a year studying the 1995 encyclical written by Pope John Paul II and then commit the rest of their lives witnessing to the dignity and respect of all individuals, from conception to natural death, focusing in particular on the protection of the child in the womb.

“It’s pro-life spirituality. What we stress first and foremost is their relationship with the Lord,” Mrs. Pritchard said. “After they make their promises, He will direct them and they will discern what God is asking of them, and He will equip them for it.”

Some are moved to pray outside abortion clinics, others to work at pregnancy resource centers or to reach out to post-abortive men and women…some will begin Respect Life groups at their churches.

Jill Stanek writes: Bishop Zurek admits to being a bit behind in his (Priests for Life) paperwork.

To clarify, PFL submits all financial statements and audits to Father Pavone’s diocese and members of PFL’s board of directors as soon as they are completed.

Thus, Bishop Zurek was admitting that the Amarillo Diocese has had PFL’s up-to-date financial records in its possession from the time Father Pavone joined the diocese in 2005 – contrary to Bishop Zurek’s allusion in his September 9 letter to all U.S. bishops that Father Pavone had “rebuff[ed] my every attempt at calling for financial transparency.”

In addition, Bishop Zurek went on to say in that October 5 letter, “I shall submit these statements to my advisors for review. After I have been advised about these financial statements, I shall forward to you all their concerns and questions.”

In other words, Bishop Zurek was conceding that neither he nor his advisers have ever analyzed PFL’s financial statements, even though he wrote a scathing letter to all U.S. bishops on September 9 all but accusing Father Pavone of financial malfeasance and recommending that parishioners withhold donations to PFL.

Perhaps Bishop Zurek could be invited to appear on EWTN to explain the rationale behind Father Pavone’s “suspension”.

In addition to suspending Pavone from ministry outside Amarillo, (bishop) Zurek has prohibited the activist priest from appearing on the Eternal Word Television Network, available to more than 160 million households worldwide. The independent nonprofit Catholic network based in Alabama is one of Pavone’s primary vehicles for spreading his pro-life message.

The bishop, Pavone’s backers say, has effectively muzzled one of the movement’s most recognized voices.

Zurek “has taken one of the most staunch pro-life leaders, one of the most effective ones, out of the battle and shut down his organization,” abortion foe and Pavone ally Mark Crutcher said on a recorded talk show uploaded to YouTube last week. “You can sugar coat it all you want to, but that’s what’s happening, and it’s outrageous.”

This bishop sounds like Obama: We’ve got a serious problem with our economy that needs immediate attention; I will have a plan to deal with it as soon as I get back from vacation in a month.

My question to this bishop and all bishops is: Why do we need to have a “Priest For Life” organization in the first place?  Why aren’t ALL priest Priest For Life?  Why do the bishops leave it up to this one priest?
