“He is a very confused philosopher, which makes Notre Dame an especially appropriate place for him.”

Father Fessio responds to pro-abort column by Catholic (Notre Dame) professor

Appealing to “the base”: Los Angeles Archbishop celebrates along side a host of pro abortion, pro homosexual politicians.

Archbishop Gomez could have helped pass AB 60 and celebrated its passage without giving honor and credibility and obvious “vote-for-these-good pro-abortion and pro-homosexual Democrats” coverage on the front cover of his own weekly newspaper.

See what all the fuss is about

Editor’s note: I’m sure the archbishop engaged in very extensive dialog before appearing on the dais with all those glad-handed, morally bankrupt  political hacks. Perhaps Pope Francis will warn the Archbishop about the type of company he keeps.  But I doubt it!

I believe the old saying goes, “You lie down with dogs – you wake up with fleas.”  Or some variation thereof …

Democratic Party Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Shultz who approves of the slaughter of 25 million American baby girls, calls GOP anti-women!

In an emotional assault on the Republicans, new Democratic Party Chairwoman Rep. Debbie Wasserman Shultz today called the GOP agenda “anti-women” and “a war on women” that will backfire on Republicans in the 2012 election and provide a cushion for President Obama’s re-election bid.

“It’s just so hard for me to grasp how they could be so anti-women as they are,” she said at a breakfast roundtable with reporters.

Editor’s note: Rep. Schultz obviously has much in common with a sergeant of the same name, on the old “Hogan’s Heroes” TV series. She sees nothing. She knows nothing. She is simply a product of her socialist, democrat ideology.

Pro abort Obama judicial nominee Goodwin Liu asks to be allowed to back out

Last week when Senate Democrats fell eight votes short of invoking cloture (ending debate) on the nomination of Goodwin Liu, it was only a matter of time before the 40-year-old Berkeley law professor would ask President Obama to withdraw his nomination. And that’s what he did, in a letter sent yesterday.

National Right to Life had urged senators to vote against cloture on Liu’s nomination to sit on the San Francisco-based U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.

Steve Six (pro-abortion hack lawyer and Kathleen Sebelius minion) has no business on the federal appeals court

In October, 2007, District Attorney Phill Kline filed 107 charges including 23 felonies, against the Planned Parenthood abortion business for allegedly violating state law. Kline alleged the abortion business potentially engaged in illegal abortions and violated state record-keeping laws by changing abortion data in an attempt to cover up late abortions done outside Kansas law.

After Kline filed the charges, Six, who was appointed by pro-abortion ex-Gov. Kathleen Sebelius (now the Obama Secretary for Health and Human Services), placed a gag order on a state judge who allowed Kline access to Planned Parenthood abortion files needed to prove his case. Anderson was told not to comply with the District Attorney’s subpoenas by Six’s office even though two judges determined that the files show “probable cause” that the abortion business violated state abortion laws and falsified medical records.

During the hearing, according to the Washington Examiner, pro-life Sen. Chuck Grassley of Iowa, the ranking Republican on the panel, asked Six about abortion and whether he believed the new Kansas law that bans abortions after 20 weeks of pregnancy based on the scientific data showing unborn children can feel intense pain is consistent with U.S. Supreme Court decisions. The question is important because, if abortion advocates ever file a lawsuit challenging the law, Six would likely determine its fate if he becomes a member of the appeals court.

Six avoided the question…

Editor’s note: Steve Six is just one of a cabal of hopelessly corrupt, pro-abort men and women from Kansas … former home of “Tiller the Killer” … and now employed in some way, by Barack Obama, the abortion president. We need to keep this guy off the federal court … and we need to make Barack Obama a one term president.

Ilinois Governor Quinn gives keys to henhouse to pro abort “fox” Terry Cosgrove

Governor Quinn has just nominated Terry Cosgrove, president of Personal PAC — Illinois’ most powerful pro-abortion lobbying group — to sit on the Human Rights Commission.

That’s bad enough, but get this: Personal PAC donated over $400,000 to Governor Quinn’s campaign for governor last year!

This is pay-to-play politics at its worst!

Help stop this horrible appointment! Call the members of the Senate Executive Appointments Committee and tell them to OPPOSE Terry Cosgrove’s nomination to the Human Rights Commission.

Pro abort Katie Couric being replaced as CBS Evening News anchor

Katie Couric is exiting Stage Left from her anchor post at CBS Evening News.” Exactly when is unclear, but her contract is up in July. According to the Associated Press, Couric, who gained fame as a co-host of NBC’s “The Today Show,” is expected to go back to her strength: a syndicated talk show in 2012.

The late Geraldine Ferraro: An early “I’m personally opposed to abortion … but” Catholic politician.

The abortion issue, magnified because she was Roman Catholic and a woman, plagued her campaign. Though she opposed the procedure personally, she said, others had the right to choose for themselves. Abortion opponents hounded her at almost every stop with an intensity seldom experienced by male politicians.

Editor’s note: I’m betting that, right about now, Geraldine wishes she would have listened much more carefully to the objections of those abortion opponents. May God have mercy on her soul.

William Daley: Just Another Pro-Abort Obama Staffer Who Puts Politics Before His Catholic Heritage.

“Once again, the President has elevated a dissenting Catholic to the highest level of his administration. As I’ve said before, in the President’s mind, the only Catholic is a “bad” Catholic – one who publicly disagrees with the teaching and bishops of the Church,” he responded. “At least, that’s the only sort of Catholic he trusts with significant power.”

Illinois Senate candidate Mark Kirk mocks Pro-Lifers

Pro-lifers can only take so much, and Kirk needlessly poking that stick at us lost some tepid support.

But the last straw for me was a June 2010 memo we received today, written by Kirk to the Planned Parenthood Action Fund, seeking its endorsement.

Both NARAL and PP IL Action have already endorsed Giannoulias, and the PPAF lists Giannoulias as an endorsed candidate, so Kirk lost his bid, unless PPAF determines at some point Giannoulias has acquired too much baggage, which I doubt. There are no Republicans on its endorsement list, so it must be willing to tolerate a lot.

But reading Kirk’s list of pro-death accomplishments is sickening. Also note how many times Kirk brags about battling his own party’s president on the life issue.

Even anticipating a Republican Senate majority isn’t worth electing another Collins, Snowe, or Specter for the next 6-24+ years.

How smart is it to trust, support, and even volunteer for the very people who were striving 16 years ago to see you dead?

16-yr-old MaxKamin-Cross is sure headed in a stupid direction, because Kamin-Cross is a budding pro-abort….

A “fired up” Kamin-Cross reported July 19 at RH Reality Check about Planned Parenthood’s recently held 2010 Organizing and Policy Summit:

Before I go on, can I just say….WOW! Five hundred youth and adult advisors from around the country… converging on Washington, DC for three days. It was an amazing thing to see and to be a part of.

This just continues to prove my point – teens do care but just need someone to take the first step. At the OPS in 2009, Cecile Richards, President of PP, issued a challenged to increase the attendance for 2010’s conference. We succeeded. Over 100 more people attended OPS 2010 than 2009; almost 300 of them were youth….

One new addition at this conference was the first meeting of PP’s Young Leaders Advisory Board. Twenty of PP’s most visionary young adults (including me!) from 14 different states were selected to take part in this new initiative. I can’t go into the specifics, but be prepared for some fantastic new PP campaigns and initiatives….

Ok, stop. Max, do you realize that for the 300 youth at the PP conference, 100 others were killed by abortion – likely by PP, the United Stated’ largest abortion provider? Do you realize PP was working its damnedest 16 years ago to enable your mother to kill you? Ask those PP reps if they would have supported (and made money from) your death? Speaking of, do you realize all the PP reps around you make a very good living off of abortion?

Gay antics of Canadian Catholic priest reflect poorly on his bishop and on the Catholic faith

July 12, 2010 (LifeSiteNews.com) – Fr. Raymond Gravel, Canada’s infamous priest/politician who was ordered out of politics by Vatican pressure, has issued an open letter in Quebec’s daily Le Devoir in which he accuses LifeSiteNews of embarking on “an organized witch hunt” against him.  Today CBC French television interviewed me on the matter. I explained that at LifeSiteNews we have indeed been concerned with Fr. Gravel’s actions and statements, and that we care enough about him to voice objections to the harm he is causing, most seriously the harm to himself.

Fr. Gravel is an ordained Roman Catholic priest, and as such is duty-bound to teach and represent the faith which he professes.  Throughout his priesthood, however, he has decided instead to be a vocal critic of the Catholic Church’s teachings on homosexuality and abortion.  In pointing out these irregularities LifeSiteNews hoped and still hopes that Fr. Gravel may be corrected for his own good and for the good of the faithful who are scandalized and, more grievously, misled by his false teachings.

Liberal “birds of a feather flock together” – USCCB and LCCHR

USCCB Belongs to Group Supporting Pro-Abortion Supreme Court Nominee

An organization called The Coalition for Constitutional Values has put on its web site a 30 second ad supporting Elena Kagan, Obama’s nominee to fill the Supreme Court seat being vacated by Justice John Paul Stevens.

The Coalition for Constitutional Values is a project of The Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights (LCCHR), a coalition charged by its diverse membership of more than 200 national organizations, to promote and protect the rights of all persons in the United States.

The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops is a member of the LCCHR, and as a member pays an annual membership fee. The Leadership Conference claims to work toward creating an America as good as its ideals.

Do those ideals for the bishops include putting pro-abortion justices on the Supreme Court, thus thwarting any efforts to overturn Roe v. Wade?  This endorsement of the Kagan nomination is typical of public positions taken by the LCCHR for many years.

In February, I published an article, “Why Did the USCCB Join This Civil Rights Organization?” That article catalogued the various positions taken by the LCCHR that directly conflict with Church teaching.  Support for abortion, same-sex marriage, and contraception were among them.

It’s no surprise that the web site of the Coalition of Constitutional Values also features the endorsement of Elena Kagan by the Human Rights Campaign, the powerful gay rights lobbying group. Make no mistake about it, the Coalition for Constitutional Values speaks for all the members of the coalition, including the USCCB!

Obama nominee Dawn Johnsen is a rabid leftist, pro-abort

According to Johnsen:

Abortion restrictions ‘reduce pregnant women to no more than fetal containers.’

The argument that women who become pregnant have in some sense consented to the pregnancy belies reality… and others who are the inevitable losers in the contraceptive lottery no more ‘consent’ to pregnancy than pedestrians ‘consent’ to being struck by drunk drivers.

The experience [of abortion] is no longer traumatic; the response of most women to the experience is relief.

Catholic League president Bill Donohue calls attention to the decision of President Obama to renominate Dawn Johnsen to head the Justice Department’s Office of Legal Counsel:

Most of the critics of Dawn Johnsen focus on her strong pro-abortion record. While that is disturbing, a pro-abortion president can be expected to staff his administration with such persons, and no one doubts President Obama’s position on this subject. But it is an entirely different matter when a president selects bigots to work for him.

Dawn Johnsen is not someone who simply takes issue with the Catholic Church’s pro-life position: she wants to punish the Church. In the late 1980s, she joined a cadre of anti-Catholics to strip the Catholic Church of its tax exempt status. The charge? The Church was guilty of violating IRS strictures because it took a strong pro-life position. The lawsuit failed.

The person who led this assault was Lawrence Lader, co-founder of NARAL with Dr. Bernard Nathanson. (Nathanson later dropped his pro-abortion position, became a strong pro-life advocate and converted to Catholicism.) At the time the two men founded NARAL, Lader, according to Nathanson, liked to refer to the Catholic Church as “our favorite whipping boy,” maintaining that his goal was to “bring the Catholic hierarchy out where we can fight them. That’s the real enemy.” (Italics in the original.) That was in the late 1960s. Twenty years later, Lader published a vicious book assailing the Catholic Church, and it was at this time that he launched his bid—assisted by Johnsen—to break the Church.

This is who Dawn Johnsen is. She is a person who is so fueled with hatred of the Catholic Church that she would like to destroy it. Having failed to secure her appointment last year, Obama has decided that he just can’t proceed without her. How telling.

Johnsen is not the first anti-Catholic chosen by Obama, but she is by far the most extreme and the most dangerous.

Pro-abort politician honored at Chicago parish school

By Matt C. Abbott

Here we go again…

The Lakeview Action Coalition, reportedly a grant recipient of the Catholic Campaign for Human Development, on Oct. 22 gave an award to pro-abortion Illinois State Rep. Sara Feigenholtz at the school associated with the notoriously leftist St. Clement Church.

A source active in the pro-life movement said in an e-mail:

‘After three weeks of phone calls to various archdiocesan offices before the event, the $65.00 per plate fundraiser for the Lakeview Action Coalition took place at St. Clement in Chicago. This is where Sara Feigenholtz received her award [named after the Rev. Gregory Dell, incidentally], despite the recent commitment from Cardinal George to support a ban on big-name pro-abort honors at Catholic churches.’I am now in the investigation phase of this matter and getting the big run-around of excuses from bishops, pastors and others of how the matter got missed. So far, it sounds like Jimmy Lago [the chancellor] made the final call to go ahead with the event as he felt it would be a greater scandal to cancel the event soon before it happened. When I originally called St. Clement to verify the event taking place, no one knew anything and it did not show up on their schedule (of course)!’

Frankly, the “It’s too late to cancel the event now” and “We didn’t know anything about it” excuses are getting very old. But, hey, this is the type of thing that occurs when we have spineless, heterodox, politically-connected bureaucrats running the show in some of the dioceses.

Canon lawyer’s opinion about propriety of Kennedy’s Catholic funeral Mass

Now, any man with a 100% rating from NARAL (to highlight just the tip of the iceberg of Teddy’s decades-long campaign against natural rights) has, to put it mildly, the burden of proof in seeking a Catholic funeral (okay, technically, his executors have the burden of proof, but you see the point) in that notorious pro-aborts seem to be “manifest sinners who cannot be granted ecclesiastical funerals without public scandal of the faithful.”

Unless, that is, “they gave some sign of repentance before death.” And there is at least some evidence that Ted Kennedy did just that.
