The Obama administration is essentially engaging in a witch hunt against pro-lifers.

From the moment the new administration took office, the DOJ has been targeting peaceful pro-life sidewalk counselors.  They have come out guns blazing on several occasions often bringing allegations that could later not be substantiated or in some cases clearly proven to be false.  Their weapon of choice – the FACE act.  The DOJ is using tactics that amount to legal extortion.  They have filed these frivolous claims against innocent people who don’t have the finances to hire big shot attorneys.  The DOJ then kindly offers to settle the case if the counselor simply agrees to stay so many yards away and pay a couple thousand dollar fine.

Pro-bono legal foundations like LLDF, Alliance Defending Freedom, and Liberty Counsel have taken a stand to defend these innocent pro-lifers.  Thankfully the sidewalk counselors have either had witnesses or video evidence to defend their actions.  The DOJ has outright dismissed charges in two cases, walking away with egg on their face.  In one case, a federal court judge issued a scathing opinion questioning the motives of the DOJ for bringing such unsubstantiated charges in the first place.  The judge suggested that there might have been a conspiracy between the government and the abortion clinic to violate the free speech rights of the pro-life advocates.

She said her abortion was 26 years ago and it was the best thing she’d ever done. Can you image living as long as she has and the only grand achievement she can claim for herself was having an abortion two and half decades ago?

She even remembered she was 40 days gestation at the time she terminated her pregnancy. Someone who is unaffected by something does not remember those types of details. Despite her forced smile and false enthusiasm for abortion, it was plain to see her pain. That pain also has a way of physically altering our appearance as well.

In the wake of OWS, we can expect to see “tent cities” pop up in front of abortion mills?

According to the Lincoln Journal Star, Nebraska Right to Life is keeping a close watch on the Occupy Lincoln group, evaluating how their actions could be used in future anti-choice protests.  One such item — a 5×6 foot “communications board” on Centennial Mall that protesters can use as signage.  NRTL spokeswoman Julie Schmit-Albin complains that when her group put signage up across the street from Planned Parenthood, they were told it was illegal and that they needed to take it down. “But Occupy Lincoln can have a big, huge billboard in a place of public access…I suppose they probably get by with it because it is not permanent, as none of their tents are, though I haven’t seen any tents move in the last month.”

Schmit-Albin states that whatever the Occupy protesters do will now set a precedent for anti-choice groups to follow, and that any action taken against her group would then be a “disparate application of justice and civil rights.”

Palatine, IL Jaycees ban pro-lifers from Independence Day parade

Leslie from Arlington Heights writes:

My father was a part of this organization back in the 60s. He met his lifelong friend there, and I remember the great things they did for the community, the camaraderie and the encouragement given and received while he was a member. I imagine that the group still offers that.

Please look at what can be viewed on the Illinois Jaycee’s website:

The Jaycee Creed

We Believe: That faith in God gives meaning and purpose to human life; That the brotherhood of man transcends the Sovereignty of Nations; That economic justice can best be won by free men through free enterprise; That government should be of laws rather than of men; That Earth’s great treasure lies in human personality; And that service to humanity is the best work of life. – W. Brownfield

Did you catch that first line? That faith in God gives meaning and purpose to human life!

How very unfortunate that the Jaycee’s cannot follow their very own creed as it relates to the RESPECT LIFE group’s banner that they wish to carry in the parade! Doesn’t respecting a PRE-BORN life and those that are ELDERLY and all those in-between ring true to their written creed?

Hey, Palatine Jaycees! Either live by your creed, change your creed to stipulate your exclusiveness, or dissolve your meaningless group.

The Village of Palatine should take away the Jaycee sponsorship of anything that is a community event until they get their act together.

Tom Roeser on certain downtrodden minorities … and pro-lifers

…you have heard it said by Jefferson and Lincoln that all of us are equal. Not so.

All minorities are more than equal—as are these members of the downtrodden: gays, lesbians, transgenders—but not to be given any separate recognition are the unborn whose supporters come close to violating the sacred tradition of separation of church and state and allowing the pollution of the secular world with religiosity in contradistinction to the founders’ wishes.

On pro-Life sidewalk counseling

If someone came into your living room and grabbed your three-year-old and rushed out of the house, threw the child into his car and drove off, what would you do? Would you write a letter to the editor? Would you complain to your congressman? Would you demand better police protection in your neighborhood? No! You would rush out, jump into your car and pursue the kidnapper, and rescue your child. If you saw him take the child into a building, you would go into that building. No one could keep you out. You would go where the child is and try to save him.

‘That is what we do when we go to an abortion clinic. We believe in the full humanity of the unborn child so firmly that we put ourselves between the child and the abortionist. But we must be armed with knowledge and skill so that we will actually save the child. We have to save the child through our words, actions, a right attitude and prayer.”
