USCCB report: Girl Scout website contains strong references to contraception and other non-abstinence measures related to sexuality

The bishops’ report focuses on three issues: 1) Girl Scouts USA’s relationship with groups like Planned Parenthood and international affiliate World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts ; 2) Girl Scouts’ views on issues related “to human sexuality, contraception, and abortion;” and 3) various materials and resources Girl Scouts USA has that may have “inappropriate content.”

With regards to Girl Scout affiliations, the report largely accepts Girl Scouts USA’s claim that they have no relationship with Planned Parenthood. However, it says that “attentiveness” is needed to prevent local groups — which act independently as their own 501c(3) organizations — from partnering with morally objectionable organizations, including Planned Parenthood.

Report: Catholic Theological Society has betrayed the very purpose responsible Catholic theology exists to serve.

Judas betraying Jesus Christ

“As one of our members put it, the CTSA is a group of liberal theologians and ‘this permeates virtually everything … because the CTSA does not aspire to be a partisan group, both attitudes and practices will have to shift if the CTSA is to become the place where all perspectives within Catholic theology in North America are welcome,” the report continued.

Dr. Anthony Lilles, who teaches spiritual theology at St. John Vianney Seminary in Denver, Colo., commented to CNA Oct. 22 that he is “both saddened and encouraged by the report.”

Editor’s note: This is no great surprise. Just another scandal in the church! Now let’s take another very close look at what’s being taught in all the Catholic seminaries.

Glossy left-wing Catholic propaganda screed attempts to justify making deals with the devil for social justice purposes.

Evidently, diversity and inclusion goes right out the window when the money stops – if you’re a left-wing, progressive (pro-abort, pro-homosexual, pro-big government, Socialist-Democrat) Catholic.

This piece never fails to indict conservative Catholics for their faithfulness – and it never fails to praise those who have shamelessly and often fraudulently been using Catholic money for anti-Catholic purposes, over the last 40 years.

A number of Catholic bishops have allegedly endorsed this report. That should come as no surprise.

Time for the national debate on banning umbrellas?

Police in Ridgefield, Conn., have determined a local school safe after checking out a report of a suspicious and possibly armed man.

Buses have begun bringing students to Branchville School after police declared the school safe.

“After an extensive police search, no dangerous activity was discovered,” school officials said.

The school was locked down after a caller reported seeing a man with what looked like a rifle walking along a road. Students were to be diverted to another school and all local schools were locked down.

There are now unconfirmed reports that the man turned out to be a worker at a store in Branchville, on his way to his job with an umbrella over his shoulder, according to the Ridgefield Press.

What goes on today at most colleges is offensive and destructive from a moral perspective.

Chiding presidential candidate Rick Santorum for calling America’s colleges “indoctrination mills,” MSNBC host Ed Schultz recently accused Mr. Santorum of citing a “bogus study” from the Cardinal Newman Society.

What’s bogus is MSNBC’s reporting. Mr. Santorum is right about the indoctrination.

What has the liberal media all flustered is Mr. Santorum’s frank criticism of America’s colleges and their frequent hostility toward traditional religious values.

The Official Vatican Response To Accusations of Irish Government Official Enda Kenny

Read the document

Editor’s note: The short version of the response: Irish Taoiseach Enda Kenny, like many other politicians, made a series of unfounded accusations, for he he had no proof whatsoever.

John Jay study on clergy abuse concludes: The devil made them do it.

The study by the John Jay College of Criminal Justice in New York instead said that the problem was largely the result of poor seminary training and insufficient emotional support for men ordained in the 1940s and 1950s, who were not able to withstand the social upheaval they confronted as pastors in the 1960s. Crime and other deviant behavior increased overall in the United States during this period, when the rate of abuse by priests was climbing.

“The rise in abuse cases in the 1960s and 1970s was influenced by social factors in society generally,” the report’s authors said. “Factors that were invariant during the time period addressed, such as celibacy, were not responsible for the increase or decline in abuse cases over this time.”

Editor’s note: With an estimated 1/4 to 1/2 of today’s priests and bishops purported to be homosexual, why I am not surprised at the conclusions of this (politically correct) $1.8 million study, which is at best, too little … and much too late?

Cardinal Pell not “buying” shade of green Vatican science group is selling.

Cardinal Pell said he agreed with Vatican spokesman the Reverend Federico Lombardi that the document was important but not part of the church’s teachings.

“It represents only the conclusions of the independent scientists involved,” Cardinal Pell said.

Holy cow: Al Gore “converts” the Vatican.

The Pontifical Academy of Science,  the Vatican’s non-denominational science panel, has declared that global action on climate change must be undertaken in order to avoid “serious and potentially irreversible impacts of global warming caused by the anthropogenic emissions of greenhouse gases…”  These warnings are part of a report entitled “Fate of Mountain Glaciers in the Anthropocene.”  The report was released along with a public address.  The statement urges,

“all nations to develop and implement, without delay, effective and fair policies to reduce the causes and impacts of climate change on communities and ecosystems, including mountain glaciers and their watersheds, aware that we all live in the same home.” [Read the entire statement]

Problems with Rotary International: Working with pro aborts in UN and Planned Parenthood

“We are not surprised that a Rotary Club is involved with Planned Parenthood,” he said. “But we continue to be appalled by the increasingly close relationship between the two pro-population-control groups.”

In 2007, Life Decisions International published a report showing that Rotary International funds the pro-abortion group UNICEF, allows its chapters to fund Planned Parenthood, and works closely with the UNFPA, which backs abortion and works hand-in-hand with the Chinese family planning officials that rely on forced abortions to enforce the nation’s one-child policy.

The pro-life group says Rotary has an “fascination with and promotion of population control from within its own organization through the Rotarian Fellowship for Population & Development.”

The report concludes with these words: “It is impossible for any person with an intact conscience to turn a blind eye to Rotary’s ungodly associations and population control works. One may offer up any excuse or justification he or she desires, but there is no way that anyone who truly cares about human life, born and preborn, could be associated with Rotary International. No way whatsoever.”

“Rotary has been in bed with Planned Parenthood on many occasions,” Garvey said. “We suggest that Rotary protect itself from further denunciation by canceling the event scheduled for February 2011.”

Recent Pew Research Center Report on the rise in children being born to single mothers is sobering

A recent Pew Research Center Report on the rise in children being born to single mothers is sobering, to put it mildly. From the report:

Another notable change during this period was the rise in births to unmarried women. In 2008, a record 41% of births in the United States were to unmarried women, up from 28% in 1990. The share of births that are non-marital is highest for black women (72%), followed by Hispanics (53%), whites (29%) and Asians (17%), but the increase over the past two decades has been greatest for whites—the share rose 69%.

The rest of the report may be seen here.

Report: Obama’s nominations neither moderate nor left of center, but radical.

Mathew Staver, the founder of Liberty Counsel and the Dean of Liberty University School of Law, commented on the new report.

“The list of individuals, their comments, and backgrounds demonstrates that President Obama uses a radical ideological litmus test to select his nominees, which clearly takes preference over experience or qualifications,” he said.

“Obama’s nominations are neither moderate nor merely left of center. They can best be described as radical. They are clearly out of touch with all but a radical fringe. Obama’s pattern of choosing radical ideologues raises serious concern about the competency of the government,” he concluded.

U.N. Report Admits Environmentalism/Global Warming is a Religion

Now, does anyone really think
that the resemblance to a crucifix is just a coincidence?

Environmentalism should be regarded on the same level with religion “as the only compelling, value-based narrative available to humanity,” according to a paper written two years ago to influence the future strategy of the United Nations Environmental Program (UNEP), the world’s would-be environmental watchdog.

The purpose of the paper, put together after an unpublicized day-long session in Switzerland by some of the world’s top environmental bureaucrats: to argue for a new and unprecedented effort to move environmental concerns to “the center of political and economic decision-making” around the world — and perhaps not coincidentally, expand the influence and reach of UNEP at the tables of world power, as a rule-maker and potential supervisor of the New Environmental Order.

“Catholic” universities promote internships at anti-Catholic organizations

DePaul University: The DePaul University Women’s and Gender Studies program offers credit for internships, noting that students have interned with abortion provider Planned Parenthood and the Chicago Women’s Health Center, which offers emergency contraceptive services and alternative insemination for “lesbians, bisexual, and queer couples, single women of any sexual orientation, and trans people.”

Loyola University of Chicago: The Loyola University of Chicago Women’s Studies and Gender Studies website lists opportunities for internships and volunteer opportunities at the following pro-abortion organizations: Chicago National Organization for Women, the Feminist Majority Foundation, Planned Parenthood, and the Chicago Abortion Fund.

Unfortunately, there’s LOTS more!
