USCCB report: Girl Scout website contains strong references to contraception and other non-abstinence measures related to sexuality

The bishops’ report focuses on three issues: 1) Girl Scouts USA’s relationship with groups like Planned Parenthood and international affiliate World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts ; 2) Girl Scouts’ views on issues related “to human sexuality, contraception, and abortion;” and 3) various materials and resources Girl Scouts USA has that may have “inappropriate content.”

With regards to Girl Scout affiliations, the report largely accepts Girl Scouts USA’s claim that they have no relationship with Planned Parenthood. However, it says that “attentiveness” is needed to prevent local groups — which act independently as their own 501c(3) organizations — from partnering with morally objectionable organizations, including Planned Parenthood.

Report: Catholic Theological Society has betrayed the very purpose responsible Catholic theology exists to serve.

Judas betraying Jesus Christ

“As one of our members put it, the CTSA is a group of liberal theologians and ‘this permeates virtually everything … because the CTSA does not aspire to be a partisan group, both attitudes and practices will have to shift if the CTSA is to become the place where all perspectives within Catholic theology in North America are welcome,” the report continued.

Dr. Anthony Lilles, who teaches spiritual theology at St. John Vianney Seminary in Denver, Colo., commented to CNA Oct. 22 that he is “both saddened and encouraged by the report.”

Editor’s note: This is no great surprise. Just another scandal in the church! Now let’s take another very close look at what’s being taught in all the Catholic seminaries.

Glossy left-wing Catholic propaganda screed attempts to justify making deals with the devil for social justice purposes.

Evidently, diversity and inclusion goes right out the window when the money stops – if you’re a left-wing, progressive (pro-abort, pro-homosexual, pro-big government, Socialist-Democrat) Catholic.

This piece never fails to indict conservative Catholics for their faithfulness – and it never fails to praise those who have shamelessly and often fraudulently been using Catholic money for anti-Catholic purposes, over the last 40 years.

A number of Catholic bishops have allegedly endorsed this report. That should come as no surprise.

Time for the national debate on banning umbrellas?

Police in Ridgefield, Conn., have determined a local school safe after checking out a report of a suspicious and possibly armed man.

Buses have begun bringing students to Branchville School after police declared the school safe.

“After an extensive police search, no dangerous activity was discovered,” school officials said.

The school was locked down after a caller reported seeing a man with what looked like a rifle walking along a road. Students were to be diverted to another school and all local schools were locked down.

There are now unconfirmed reports that the man turned out to be a worker at a store in Branchville, on his way to his job with an umbrella over his shoulder, according to the Ridgefield Press.

What goes on today at most colleges is offensive and destructive from a moral perspective.

Chiding presidential candidate Rick Santorum for calling America’s colleges “indoctrination mills,” MSNBC host Ed Schultz recently accused Mr. Santorum of citing a “bogus study” from the Cardinal Newman Society.

What’s bogus is MSNBC’s reporting. Mr. Santorum is right about the indoctrination.

What has the liberal media all flustered is Mr. Santorum’s frank criticism of America’s colleges and their frequent hostility toward traditional religious values.

The Official Vatican Response To Accusations of Irish Government Official Enda Kenny

Editor’s note: The short version of the response: Irish Taoiseach Enda Kenny, like many other politicians, made a series of unfounded accusations, for he he had no proof whatsoever.

John Jay study on clergy abuse concludes: The devil made them do it.

The study by the John Jay College of Criminal Justice in New York instead said that the problem was largely the result of poor seminary training and insufficient emotional support for men ordained in the 1940s and 1950s, who were not able to withstand the social upheaval they confronted as pastors in the 1960s. Crime and other deviant behavior increased overall in the United States during this period, when the rate of abuse by priests was climbing.

“The rise in abuse cases in the 1960s and 1970s was influenced by social factors in society generally,” the report’s authors said. “Factors that were invariant during the time period addressed, such as celibacy, were not responsible for the increase or decline in abuse cases over this time.”

Editor’s note: With an estimated 1/4 to 1/2 of today’s priests and bishops purported to be homosexual, why I am not surprised at the conclusions of this (politically correct) $1.8 million study, which is at best, too little … and much too late?
