Rush Limbaugh’s surprising comments about Pope Francis and the Catholic Church.

RUSH: New pope. I am not Catholic. But I have endeavored, I have dug deep, I have attempted to find out from sources that I trust as much as I can, that I can understand, that I could then relay to you about this new pope. He’s the first pope from the Americas. I realize some of you from Rio Linda say, “What a minute. Argentina? That’s South America.” He’s the first one. And he didn’t want to be pope. But there’s some incredible things about this man. He is a classic Catholic theologian. There appears not to be one shred of moral relevance. In fact, I’ll play the sound bites for you in just a minute. The media, select members, they’re out there. I watched some of it this morning, and it’s kind of funny to watch. They’re wringing their hands, “How can the church attract young people when it is opposed to contraception? Doesn’t the church need to modernize? Doesn’t the pope, don’t these cardinals realize what they’ve gotta do if they want to attract young people to the church? If they want to spread their message they can’t have this position that’s anti-gay marriage and anti-contraception.” And they treat the church as a political institution.

Yee, Chu, and Hu: Gang of three (and AP) don’t like Limbaugh’s Chinese!

During a Jan. 19 radio program, Limbaugh said there was no translation of the Chinese president’s speech during a visit to the White House.

“He was speaking and they weren’t translating,” Limbaugh said. “They normally translate every couple of words. Hu Jintao was just going ching chong, ching chong cha.”

He then launched into a 20-second-long imitation of the Chinese leader’s dialect.

Voris, Abbot (and now, Lawrence): Something about Glenn Beck’s Christianity doesn’t “add-up”.

In his column today, Matt C. Abbot included a transcript of Real Catholic TV’s latest video commentary about Glenn Beck’s recent “Restoring Honor” rally in Washington, DC.

In that commentary, Real Catholic TV’s Michael Voris, made a number of excellent observations.

Here’s one, for starters:

It’s worthy to note that many of the leading lights in this Religious Restoration project sweeping over the land, that will definitely cause a storm to break over Washington on Election Day, are themselves promoters of inauthentic Christianity.

In the past two weeks, Glenn Beck, Ann Coulter, Rush Limbaugh and others have each come out in favor of homosexual marriage — slash — civil unions. While they are not on the front lines necessarily promoting it, they are not resisting it and are giving their considerable nodding consent to it.

That’s not authentic Christianity. Not even close. But this is the problem with multiculturalism: Everything needs to be compromised and there are simply some things that cannot be compromised, the truth of God for one.

All societies eventually face high noon over religious questions. For a while, a culture may be able to skirt these issues, but eventually, sooner or later, when the right set of circumstances are brought to bear on religious and moral issues, a civilization either rises to the occasion, or meets its Waterloo.

Rush Limbaugh on liberals in the U. S. government … and the Catholic Church

The left is taking over every institution.

They have to be stopped, and it’s about time, maybe…

You know, I’m not trying to be Pollyannaish and look at the bright side of this (because I don’t, frankly, see many) but one of them is: Don’t doubt me anymore! It’s out in front of your eyes! Believe what you see, believe what you hear. It is real!

The Catholic Church has a bunch of leftists in it who would just as soon destroy the church and remake it, as the government has liberals in it who want to remake our government and destroy the Constitution.

Liberals are liberals.

They do not value institutions until they run them and remake them in their own way, and nothing is sacred. Not the Catholic Church, not the Methodist Church. Nothing! Zilch, zero, nada.

I shouldn’t have to say this, especially after this weekend. The real challenge — and it’s hard; I know it’s hard — is you can’t believe that we’ve elected people to run this country who don’t like it. Well, we did, but not on purpose. They were fooled, lied to, defrauded, everything else. So it’s out there right in the open for everyone to see and take note of. They don’t deserve to win another election ever. The country cannot withstand them winning another major election. Don’t doubt me.

Editor’s note:

Rush isn’t Catholic, but if he was, he would realize that the Catholic Church was taken over by liberals some 40 years ago, shortly after the close of the 2nd Vatican Council.

The Catholic Church was the first to fall under the liberal onslaught.

That debacle set the stage for the stunning moral decline in all our formerly great institutions. Obama isn’t the cause … he’s just a symptom … and of course … he’s an opportunist. Obama also knows full well the weaknesses of today’s church. As a community organizer in Chicago, he learned first hand, from the late (leftist) Cardinal Bernardin. Obama admitted as much at last year’s Notre Dame commencement.

May God help us all!
