Church of England proposes ‘blessings’ for homosexual unions

LONDON (Reuters) – Church of England clergy would be able to “bless” same-sex relationships under long-awaited proposals unveiled on Thursday as the church adopts a more open – but disputed – approach to homosexuality.

Editor’s note: What do you call it when grave sin is “blessed” by a purported Christian church? Would it be blasphemy, idolatry, sacrilege – all three? Or would it be something else?

Sacrilege in Germany: The fruit of modernism run rampant in the Church.

It appears there was a fundraising Mass (or “Mass) held for a children’s hospital operated by Catholic charities/Caritas.  A noble goal, perhaps, but the implementation was disastrous.

A circus was mixed in with the Mass, and the Mass was offered not in a proper church but in a dining hall of some kind, with the Blessed Sacrament brought around to the almost entirely elderly participants seated at their tables.

This seems to be a common thing in Germany, the mixing of the sacred and profane with Masses offered at outdoor beer festivals and the like, with people literally going from sucking on a cigarette, or a stein of beer, or from eating a bratwurst one second, and then turning around and receiving Our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament the next.

Or, they rather indiscreetly place the Blessed Sacrament in their pocket.

Anti-Catholic sacrilege in Equador results in official government apology

On Aug. 13, the president called Archbishop Voltolini “to apologize for the incident, especially because the Blessed Sacrament was in the chapel,” said Father Manuel Cedeno, a spokesman for the archdiocese.

The priest said that when he arrived at the hospital to visit patients last Friday, he was “surprised to see that they had taken over the chapel,” installing beds and removing everything that had been inside, including the ciborium from the tabernacle, which was in a pile with other sacred objects.

Editor’s note: Too little. Too late. A deplorable lack of respect and anti-religious government abuse, coupled with clerical negligence. Why wasn’t the tabernacle locked?

Those who think nothing of violently slaughtering pre-born children are now directing their rage against the Catholic Church.

A Catholic Archbishop is savaged in Belgium; protestors at a Catholic Church in Spain block exits and doors; in Chile demonstrators interrupt Mass, demolish confessionals, rip out pews and paint profane sacrilegious graffiti throughout the church.

Pro-abortion feminists under the guise of promoting “choice” carried out these and other attacks in the last few months. Their actions make it seem that they have declared war on the Catholic Church with no regard for parishioners, common decency or law.

Welcome to the pro-choice Jihad.

Gloves should come off when Protestants assist dissident Catholics in sacrilegious acts

Look. We either take ecumensim seriously or we don’t. If we do – and I believe we must –  we have to react strongly when ecumencial ideals are so grossly violated by Protesants who invite or permit these “women priest” ceremonies in their churches.

The most sacred rites of the Catholic Church are Holy Mass and ordination to Holy Orders. These are sine quibus non for our Catholic identity and the continuance of Holy Church Herself.  They are of divine origin.  They are for us most sacred.  To treat sacred things with lack of due respect or reverence is the sin of sacrilege.

From our point of view as Catholics, these women-priest supporters are committing sacrilege in simulating Mass and Orders.

The Protestants who host them are also, objectively speaking, committing a sacrilege.  They are permitting or inviting a mockery of our Holy Mass and a mockery of the priesthood.

When Protestants allow dissident Catholics to commit sacrileges in their churches, they effectively wave their middle-digit directly in the face of the Catholic Church.

Writer responds to Cardinal Wuerl’s complaint

Go ahead and do damage to me in this city, Cardinal Wuerl. I don’t care. I will not surrender one inch to PC prelates like yourself who punish dutiful priests while pandering to the enemies of the Church.

This moronic controversy, triggered by a self-described practicing “lesbian Buddhist” who effortlessly mau-maued Cardinal Wuerl into a craven apology and trumped-up “administrative leave” order to Fr. Marcel Guarnizo, is a grotesque farce beyond the satirical imagination of Evelyn Waugh.

I petition the Holy See — if anyone happens to read TAS there — for urgent relief. This scandal is sickening. Cardinal Wuerl has damaged the reputation of a faithful priest, exposed the Holy Eucharist to sacrilege, scandalized confused congregants, and handed a propaganda victory to forces of secularism that seek to destroy the Church in America.

Priest allows Protestant minister to concelebrate Mass, receive Communion at Orange County parish

Some parishioners at St. Norbert’s Church in Orange describe themselves as “shocked and appalled” after a priest there allowed a Presbyterian minister to concelebrate a Mass and receive Holy Communion on Sunday, Feb. 13.

Sources from the parish told California Catholic Daily that Fr. Agustin Escobar introduced Pastor Steve Whitney of Trinity Presbyterian Church in Sacramento at St. Norbert’s 9 a.m. Sunday Mass. The sources said Rev. Whitney concelebrated the Mass with Fr. Escobar, took Communion, and was allowed to distribute Communion to parishioners.
