Wayward Seattle priest is turning the sacred scriptures upside down and inside out to falsely justify the homosexual subculture

About 500 years ago Father John Whitney, S.J. would have been beheaded and burned at the stake for his heresies and blasphemy against the written Word of God, but today all we can do is feel pity for Archbishop J. Peter Sartain for having to tolerate this Jesuit, and pray that he excommunicates him for continuing to lead Christ’s flock astray.

Op-ed: We are Catholics and we oppose Referendum 74 to legalize same-sex marriage

The state of Washington already provides all of the same legal benefits to same-sex couples that are provided to married couples. The only matter in question with Referendum 74 is whether the word “marriage” also applies to couples that are composed of two members of the same sex, rather than only one woman and one man.

At the same time, it should be noted that there are currently 9,863 domestic partnerships in Washington, representing only 0.0029 percent of the entire state population.

Not only would Referendum 74 allow the state legislation changing the legal definition of marriage to go into effect, but it could directly affect the First Amendment rights of the U.S. Constitution: the freedoms of religion, conscience and free speech for those who, like us, have different values. We would be forced to accept a legal definition of marriage that signifies a genderless institution.

At least some of Seattle’s liberal Catholics are still in love with their old archbishop, in spite of his many, well documented failures.

Read the “puff piece” in the Seattle PI

Then read the official report compiled by none other than Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger, in 1985.

Editor’s note: For whom do you think these guys will be voting, in the upcoming election?

Sex education as child abuse

Because of the sex education class given students last week, parent Curtis Pannkuk said, “Our daughter did not want to go back to school, she cried all the way to school today.”

Editor’s note: This type of state mandated “sex education” not only robs little children of their innocence, but it is also a type of mental sexual assault … virtual child rape … if you will.

In principle and in application, it’s not that far removed from China’s government mandated one child policy … or Barack Obama’s ill-conceived HHS Abortion/Contraception Mandate.

Why do those who claim to advocate “choice” almost invariably attempt to enforce draconian, “one size fits all” programs on the innocent and the unsuspecting?

Shameless ideologues just can’t help it!

Doug stands up for Seattle’s Archbishop Peter J. Sartain in the fight for the defense of marriage

by Doug Lawrence

In reference to a recent article in The Seattle Times that was critical of Archbishop Peter Sartain’s petition campaign, I wrote:

The Catholic Church first contended with the problem of rampant homosexual perversion and illicit lifestyles in ancient Rome, more than 1500 years ago.

That was nothing new then, and it’s nothing new, now.

What is new is Americans being urged by corrupt government officials to condone and affirm the homosexual lifestyle (and all that goes with it) as being something other than a sinful, intrinsically disordered form of human existence, that is hugely detrimental to ordinary society, and which takes a heavy toll on homosexuals, their families, and their friends … gay and straight, alike.

The Catholic Church officially and authoritatively teaches that persons with homosexual inclinations are no different than any other sinners, in that they are called to live a good Christian life, struggle to resist temptation, and should they fail … make a good, sacramental confession, and then, by the grace of God, make a fresh start … even if ultimate success may take a lifetime.

The government’s establishment of homosexual marriage and/or civil unions … or whatever anyone cares to call them … falsely attempts to normalize behavior which, in truth, is not and never will be normal … and makes permanent a decrepit spiritual condition which informed Catholics identify as “living in sin” … all in the name of unrestricted, government approved, gay sexual license, complete with a custom made, enhanced “Bill of Rights”.

I know Archbishop Sartain. And while I make no attempt to speak for him, I know that he harbors absolutely no ill will towards anyone … gay or straight. His mission is the teaching of God’s honest truth, for the ultimate salvation of souls. People ought to take time out to listen to him.

From the totality of scripture, as well as some 2,000 years of universal Catholic tradition, philosophy, and  superbly reasoned, systematic theology, it is absolutely clear that the Catholic Church cannot and will never affirm homosexual sexual acts as licit, good, or anything less than gravely sinful … simply because that is the truth … and no amount of politicking, ranting, or raving can ever change it.

Nor is God’s objective truth morally binding exclusively on Catholics, since the basic tenets and requirements of the Natural Law are essential moral principles that every human being shares, in common. One might as well similarly attempt to redefine the law of gravity!

Any Catholic who believes otherwise, as many posting here claim, would be well advised to promptly examine his/her conscience in the light of authoritative and complete Catholic teachings on the subject … since … come Judgment Day … willful ignorance is not likely to be accepted as a valid excuse.

God loves gay people and straight people alike, with a holy, inestimably powerful, pure and divine love that is beyond all human understanding … and from a purely practical standpoint, the only thing that can separate God from his people is grave, intentional, unrepentant sin.

In short, it is a serious sin for anyone, especially a Christian, to give their approval to a gravely sinful and morally scandalous lifestyle … homosexual or otherwise … no matter the reason or justification.

Informed Catholics understand this, but many others … especially it seems … those in government … do not.

And that is a real shame!

Seattle Catholic hospital group plans to underwrite and support Planned Parenthood abortion mill, next door.

Swedish Medical Center, beset by mounting opposition to its decision to stop performing elective abortions if a pending alliance with a Catholic health system is approved, will help underwrite a Planned Parenthood center in the Nordstrom Tower adjacent to the hospital.

Swedish’s plan to refer patients to the center, which will provide a full range of reproductive-health services, including elective abortion, has been in the works for several months and was expected to be announced next week.

Editor’s note: These guys plan to skirt the fact that any type of material cooperation in abortion is gravely sinful, through referrals and the “financial segregation” of profits from such activity. Meanwhile, nearby Catholic Seattle University continues to offer Planned Parenthood internships to its students. What  a strange Catholic culture we have, in the Pacific Northwest!

Bishop Sartain of Joliet, IL to become new Archbishop of Seattle, WA

In a move that’s as much masterstroke as surprise (at least, to many), the Pope has named J. Peter Sartain, 58, bishop of Joliet since 2006, as archbishop of Seattle.

Envisioned by many as an optimal choice to replace Cardinal Francis George in Chicago after the outgoing Bench-Chief reaches the retirement age in early 2012, the much-celebrated prelate instead succeeds Archbishop Alex Brunett, who passed the canonical age-limit in January 2009. Founded in 1850 and made an archdiocese in 1951, today’s Emerald City church encompasses all of Washington State west of the Cascades — some 25,000 square miles — and a Catholic population that, by the chancery numbers, stands in excess of 900,000.
