If it wasn’t so disgusting, it might be laughable.

The film follows Robinson as the church grapples with how to handle lesbian and gay issues. Robinson’s election brought to a head divisions between liberal and conservative Episcopalians, and between the U.S. church and more conservative members of the worldwide Anglican Communion.

Filmmakers followed Robinson to England in 2008, where he was excluded from the Anglicans’ Lambeth Conference of bishops. And they followed him to the Episcopal Church’s 2009 General Convention, where leaders voted to allow blessings of same-sex marriages, civil unions or domestic partnerships (where legal) and allow gay men and women to become bishops.

Editor’s note: William Shakespeare wrote, “To thine own self be true.” Jesus Christ said, “Take up your cross and follow me.” It looks to me like all these people got William Shakespeare mixed up with Jesus Christ, and are following the wrong guy!

New theory: Shakespeare was a “secret” Catholic

In a recent book, a German biographer of Shakespeare, Hildegard Hammerschmidt-Hummel, said that she had “come to the conclusion that Shakespeare was a Catholic and that his religion is the key to understanding his life and work”.

Professor Hammerschmidt-Hummel said that Shakespeare’s parents, friends and teachers were Catholics, as were some of his patrons, including the Earl of Southampton, who concealed Catholic priests at his country seat, Titchfield Abbey, and his London residence.

Further proof was his purchase of the eastern gatehouse at Blackfriars — a secret meeting place for fugitive Catholics — in London in 1613, she said.

Backers of the theory say that plays such as Romeo and Juliet and Measure for Measure are “rich in Catholic thought and rituals”, with positive depictions of priests and monks and invocations of the Virgin Mary.

Rosencrantz (Emanuel) and Guildenstern (Axelrod) – Obama’s comic relief?

axelrod-emanuel-jpeg

Just as the original Rosencrantz and Guildenstern were comedic in Shakespeare’s “Hamlet” and Stoppard’s play, the cast of Emanuel and Axelrod is ridiculous in real life.

Vendettas by the White House can never work. They just demean the perpetrators.

Let’s face it, Obama’s time has come and passed. By 2012 he’ll be returning to his Hyde Park mansion he bought with the help of Tony Rezko… and R & G will be sprung lose to rebuild their incomes and nurture another huckster-maybe this time a physically disabled self-professed gay Hispanic nun from Alabama who will be ripe for their collaborative promotion.

I can just hear Katie Couric exclaim when she meets their new client: Wheeeeee!
