Fox News reports:
When an armed school resource officer entered the room, Pierson believed he was cornered and turned his gun on himself, Robinson said. The entire attack lasted approximately 80 seconds and was captured by security cameras.
Remington Model 870 “Pump’ Shotgun
WASHINGTON – The shotgun Aaron Alexis allegedly used to launch the shooting Monday at the Washington Naval Shipyard that killed 12 naval and civilian personnel was legal, since when he purchased it, Alexis had no record of either a misdemeanor or felony conviction.
Editor’s note: Mr. Biden favors double-barreled shotguns.
The shooting occurred during a quiet part of the Father’s Day Mass as about 300 people stood up in preparation for communion. Police say Jennings pulled a gun from his waistband and fired a single shot at the back of Evans’ head, nearly killing him.
“It was echoing in my head so loud,” said Rebecca Ory Hernandez of the gunshot that rang out only feet from where she was with her 5-year-old son.
(AP/ABC7) – A man accused of shooting a security guard inside the downtown Washington headquarters of a conservative Christian lobbying group pleaded guilty Wednesday in connection with the shooting.
Corkins pleaded guilty to one federal count of crossing state lines with guns and ammunition. He also pleaded guilty to one count of intent to kill while armed and one count of committing an act of terrorism with the intent to kill.

First of all Msgr. Charles Pope, from this Catholic who does live in CT, about forty minutes away from the horror of what happened in Newtown, CT I want to say many thank-yous for this excellent article.
What this horrible and tragic incident says bigtime in that, we are not just dealing with human flesh and blood, but also we are in the midst of a spiritual warfare between the forces of Heaven and the forces of Hell.
Give eternal rest God to the souls of the children and adults who died yesterday in Newtown, CT as well as the dear ones who are in their own personal heartbreaks are left behind.

All hail, O holy Queen, Mother exceeding merciful; Life’s spring, sweet comfort, our Hope-bearer, all hail. To thee our plaint we lift, children of Eve yet in exile. To thee our aspiring, and longing and weeping, lift we from this vale of sorrow. Ah then, Mary, be our intercessor; hither vouchsafe to turn thine eyes compassionate, and look upon us. And Jesus, blessed offspring of thy womb, O Mother, show thou to us when earthly exile endeth. O gentle, O loving, O gracious Virgin Mary!
Words fail me. My prayers for the poor kids murdered, their parents and the adults murdered and their families.
In the wake of today’s horror in Newtown, Connecticut, both the Holy See and the Diocese of Bridgeport—which includes Newtown—have released statements expressing grief and shock and offering prayers and condolences to all those affected by the incident.
The President wasn’t talking about the 3000+ totally innocent babies who were wantonly slaughtered today (and every day) by abortion. He was talking about the 7 adults and 20 children who were tragically shot to death by a crazed gunman in Newtown, Connecticut.
I would like Rep. Giffords to protect innocent human life when she gets back to voting more regularly.
Given that Emily’s List is currently raising money for her, I doubt she will. But I’m not sure she’ll be convinced otherwise by reading about her similarities to Hitler.
What’s changing the culture are ultrasounds and testimony. Options and information. Information absolutely includes the truth about life and death and Church teaching—and the ugly history and reality of the business and ideology behind abortion. Leading people to the light of a culture of life. What’s changing the culture is love. A love for truth. A love for the dignity of every individual.
“Family” photos memorialize Tiller’s work
We continue to mourn the loss of our friend and colleague, Dr. George Tiller. Dr. Tiller was a dedicated physician who provided quality abortion care to women, at great personal sacrifice and risk. He is truly a hero to his fellow abortion providers and his patients. Dr. Tiller’s office is filled with letters from women, thanking him for the excellent, compassionate care he provided. Many of these women say Dr. Tiller saved their lives.

For the first time, we will enable comments on our blog so that all of you can share your condolences or offer memories of Dr. Tiller. We invite you to join us in honoring a true American hero, Dr. George Tiller.

have no graves or tombstones)
Editor’s note: Wichita abortionist George Tiller offered his customers a memorial service in his facility after he performed abortions, often coupled with weird, religious rituals.
The baby would then typically be incinerated, along with 20 or more other recently aborted babies, in a type of crude, on-site crematorium, which (eerily reminiscent of the Nazi death camps) reportedly, sometimes showered the surrounding neighborhood with human ashes.
LONDON – A shooting aboard a nuclear-powered submarine in an English port Friday left one Royal Navy sailor dead, one critically injured and a third under arrest, police and military officials said.
Police said the incident on HMS Astute, docked in Southampton, southern England, was not terrorism related.
“Two Royal Navy personnel have been involved in a firearms incident at Southampton docks,” Britain’s defense ministry said in a statement. “Sadly, one has now died as a result of his injuries.”
Defense Secretary Liam Fox said he was saddened by the “tragic incident.”
More details have emerged about the events that led to Somali pirates shooting and killing four U.S. hostages, including Jean and Scott Adam, who were parishioners at St. Monica Catholic Church.

His death in the Giffords shooting puzzled me. Why was he there? Was he a target?
From what I can gather at the moment, it sounds like it was an unfortunate—a tragic—coincidence.
A friend told me that he went to Mass Saturday morning, as it was his habit to do daily, and that he called his wife afterward. He told her that he had heard that Giffords was going to be at Safeway and that he wanted to stop by in order to congratulate her on her recent re-election. He was doing so to be civil.
