Catholic Charities USA invites pro-gay ‘marriage’ priest to keynote annual gathering

Asked for comment on the situation Michael Hichborn, Director of Defend the Faith for American Life League told LifeSiteNews, “The USCCB’s document, ‘Catholics in Political Life‘ can’t be more clear.  It specifically states that ‘ those who act in defiance of our fundamental moral principles … should not be given awards, honors or platforms.’

The fact of the matter is that Fr. Boyle said himself that he does not adhere to the Church’s infallible teaching on homosexuality and women’s ordination, and so he therefore should not be allowed a platform at Catholic Charities USA’s annual gathering.”

Ann Barnhardt is a brilliant, ultra-conservative, Catholic “firecracker”

by Doug Lawrence

A friend sent me a link to Ann Barnhardt’s website, and I’m still in awe. This brilliant Catholic (convert) woman knows from where she is speaking, on a host of very timely and relevant subjects, and she isn’t afraid to step up and say it, loud and clear!

Here’s an example (not necessarily the best one):

Q: Ann, What do you think of the Marines who peed on the dead Taliban?

A: I have little sympathy for men who live their lives wiping their anuses with their bare hands after bowel movements, and who view as the pinnacle of human pleasure inserting their genitals and depositing their semen into the feces-laden rectums of boys and other men, who suddenly get squeamish about dead bodies being sprinkled with a bit of urine – which is sterile by the way. Those dead Taliban were probably the cleanest they had ever been in their adult lives after being showered with the righteous tinkles of those Marines. Ooh-rah. That is all. Carry on.

“In 1997 I co-founded and con-celebrated a feminist inclusive Eucharist with 12 other women and hundreds of witnesses …”

Students at a Catholic prep school for girls in San Francisco were encouraged to view parts of a film sympathetic to the ordination of women and a ‘womanpriest’ was invited to discuss it with students, the campus newspaper reported earlier this month.

Victoria Rue is also an open lesbian and homosexual activist. “In 1990 my partner Kathryn Poethig and I celebrated a ceremony of commitment with our families and friends,” says her website. “…Through the years we have worked for a more body positive theology, as well as the inclusion and ordination of lesbian and gay people in both the Protestant and Catholic churches.”

Tiny pro-life activist making big waves

The last two years appear all the more remarkable in light of their inauspicious beginning – when Lia’s pro-abortion teacher found out the topic of her speech, she told Lia that she could present her speech to her class, but would be automatically disqualified from the speech competition attached to the project. She recommended that Lia choose a different topic.

At the recent International Pro-Life Conference in Ottawa, Lia told the crowd that being “a fairly competitive person,” she was eager to participate in the competition; however,  “after more praying and thinking” she decided that she would stick with the topic of abortion anyway, even if it meant disqualification.

Unexpectedly, however, Lia’s teacher was so impressed with the speech that she backtracked and, despite her pro-abortion views, recommended that Lia represent her class in the schoolwide competition.

Noted atheist author and speaker Christopher Hitchens diagnosed with cancer of esophagus. (Trip to Lourdes recommended, by me.)

Author, journalist and public intellectual Christopher Hitchens announced Wednesday that he will undergo treatment for cancer of the esophagus, thereby cutting short his current book tour.

Hitchens made the announcement via a statement posted on Vanity Fair’s website, a publication for which he regularly contributes.

“I have been advised by my physician that I must undergo a course of chemotherapy on my esophagus. This advice seems persuasive to me. I regret having had to cancel so many engagements at such short notice,” Hitchens said.

Editor’s note: Let’s all pray for Mr. Hitchens’ prompt and complete recovery … since unlike Christopher … we Christians acknowledge the fact that God is indeed great.
