The number of abortions that will be heavily subsidized via federal premium tax credits and Medicaid expansion is likely to be between 71,000 and 111,500 per year.

With all the attention focused on Ted Cruz’s attempt to defund Obamacare in the continuing resolution, some of the law’s parade of horribles are momentarily out of view. Come October 1, those horribles will resume their onward march as the law’s impact on subsidizing elective abortion will begin to become clearer.

EU Commissioner Reding: “We only finance the gay lobby, but we have no influence on its activities.”

It is of course very good that the EU is committed to fight discrimination. But ILGA-Europes campaign for sodomist “marriages” is not a fight against discrimination. It is in actual fact a quest for legal and fiscal privileges for people with a particularly decadent lifestyle, at the expense of the rest of society. This is certainly not within “the powers conferred on the EU by the Treaties”.

Also, it is patently absurd that “ILGA Europe’s goals are in line with the principles enshrined in Article 19 of TFEU”, given that this provision lends no support at all to sodomist “marriages” or “families”.

But the culmination of absurdity is reached when Commissioner Reding asserts that the Commission’s role consists in providing the money, but that it has no responsibility for any of the organization’s activities.

$4 Million in CCHD (Catholic) money going to subsidize Marxist perversions.

Liberationism is a serious distortion of not only Catholic social teaching but of its doctrinal teachings, as well.  Before his election to the papacy, Benedict XVI prepared a Vatican response to the errors being spread by this theological movement, calling it “a perversion of the Christian message as God entrusted it to His Church.” [v]

The issues provoking liberationism are genuine.  On the other hand, some remedies may be as bad as the evils they seek to correct and “justice” – the professed goal of liberationism – suffers from Marxist roots, particularly moral relativism (no Alinskyian organization will ever tackle the injustice of abortion because it’s “too controversial”) and from reducing the spiritual to mere politics.

Planned Parenthood does more than just killing babies … and John Wayne Gacy built some nice homes!

New Planned Parenthood Mascot?

by Doug Lawrence

Besides annually killing around 350,000 babies, and abusing as many women, Planned Parenthood would like you to know that they also provide health screenings, STD tests, and contraceptives (for a fee).

What they don’t say is that around a third of their profits come from abortion alone, and they have a very peculiar way of counting visits for services.

Let’s say you went to a restaurant for pizza, but every time you reached for a drink, or a napkin, a fork or a knife, the restaurant counted it as another “visit”. Weird, huh?

That’s how Planned Parenthood “cooks the books” in their favor. Books they have been totally unable to balance, by the way. They have yet to pass muster on key government audits of their use of state and federal funds.

But they claim that no federal money is used to provide abortions.

I say, “Prove it … or quit!”

A Couple of Interesting Reader Comments

I received a couple of emails from Ed S. today. I thought they were definitely worth posting. Please take a look:

Is God Pro Choice?
All  religions and  most  people believe that God has a choice when supplies a soul at the conception of an embryo. Before the conception, God knows all the details of the couple who are doing the  sex act. Why then does he create a soul and  permit conception, knowing the child is unwanted?
We all know people that are not able to conceive. Nationwide, there are 200,000 families waiting to adopt a baby.
Could God, be connecting the dots? Could he, like in the academy award winning movie ‘Juno’, give the  pregnant woman a chance to answer the prayer of would be, adoptive parents?
The Government should help connect mothers of unwanted babies with parents who need babies.
Let’s make it mandatory that these woman be given a notice that people are waiting for her baby and will pay expenses. Then she and God could be in agreement with her choice.

Babies who are the product of rape
I met a young woman whose mom, when pregnant with her, went to an abortion clinic to get an abortion, but when  she  saw the dirty and depressing procedure rooms, she decided to have the baby and put her up for adoption (like Juno did, in the  academy award winning  movie.)
The daughter of that woman grew up and went to law school.
One day, when life issues came up in her law classes, she gave her testimony, which was met with indignance by her professor and many of her fellow students. She was even told that her mom should have followed through with the abortion! (You  would think that law school’s would have rules against bulling?)
When we put a face on “rape babies” the hollow argument for “choice” [the woman’s right to choose {WHAT?} the  death of a  beautiful, young person-to-be] The real face of “rape babies” needs to be seen. And the plot to exterminate them needs to be exposed.
Lets vote for pro life candidates, and ask them to subsidize adoption. Not abortion!

The Marriage Penalty in Health Care

Conservatives have been exchanging email for weeks about the shocking fact that Obama’s health care bill discriminates against marriage while financially favoring unmarried couples living together. This fact is finally getting national attention, at least in the Wall Street Journal and on Fox News.

Here is the cost in the House bill for an unmarried couple who each earn $25,000 a year (total: $50,000). When they both buy health insurance (which will be mandatory), the combined premiums they pay will be capped at $3,076 a year.

But if the couple gets married and has the same combined income of $50,000, they will pay annual premiums up to a cap of $5,160 a year. That means they have to fork over a marriage penalty of $2,084.

The marriage penalty is the result of the fact that government subsidies for buying health insurance are pegged to the federal poverty guidelines. Couples that remain unmarried are rewarded with a separate health care subsidy for each income.

When the Wall Street Journal reporter quizzed the Democratic authors of the health care bill, they made it clear that this differential was deliberate. The staffer justified the discriminatory treatment because “you have to decide what your goals are.”
