Pro-Life coalition launches new conscience rights website

callconsc

Dear Pro-Lifers,

I’m excited to tell you that just minutes ago,
a coalition of more than 40 pro-life groups
from across the country launched
www.Call2Conscience.com!

The Call2Conscience.com Campaign is working to mobilize as many Americans as possible to demand that Congress includes conscience & religious liberty protections in must-pass legislation.

>>> Take Action: Tell your Representatives that conscience protections must be included in must-pass legislation.

After you’ve taken action, make sure to sign up for tomorrow’s webcast, which will feature Rep. Diane Black, who is leading the charge for conscience and religious liberty in the House of Representatives.

The webcast will also feature other national leaders including our very own Hon. Marilyn Musgrave, Fr. Frank Pavone of Priests for Life, David Bereit of 40 Days for Life, and Alan Sears of Alliance Defending Freedom.

It is critical that YOU and your like-minded friends and family take action NOW.

You see, Congress will soon be considering must-pass legislation that will fund the federal government, and it is critical that conscience protections are included in this legislation.

>>> Take Action: Tell your Representatives that conscience protections must be included in must-pass legislation.

We must take a stand to ensure that all Americans are guaranteed freedom of conscience in their daily lives and work.

The government has no business putting religious freedom on the negotiating table, or picking and choosing who is allowed to exercise their faith or moral convictions.

We must fight back, and we must fight back right now.

>>> It only takes a minute: Contact Congress.

And after you’ve taken action, please make sure to pass on this e-mail to as many of your like-minded friends and family so that they can take action too.

Thank you for standing up for conscience and religious liberty!

For Life,

Marjorie Dannenfelser
President, Susan B. Anthony List

PS: The Obama administration has launched an unprecedented assault on religious liberty and conscience. We must fight back. Take action now by contacting your Members of Congress.

PPS: Tomorrow night, the Call2Conscience Campaign will be hosting a webcast featuring national pro-life leaders including Rep. Diane Black, who is leading the charge for conscience protections in the House; Fr. Frank Pavone of Priests for Life; David Bereit of 40 Days for Life; and Alan Sears of Alliance Defending Freedom.

The Black Sheep Dog (a.k.a. Father John Corapi) website is now empty and dormant.

Today, traveling around the Catholic blogosphere and on Facebook and Twitter is a link to the now defunct website http://www.theblacksheepdog.us/.  All of the posts, all of the audios and videos are gone as are the items that were for sale.   The “nuking” of the site also eliminated literally thousands of comments.  It is all replaced with this:

New USCCB Site – Marriage: Unique for a Reason!

ABOUT THE ART

Saints Joachim and Anne are the father and mother of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Mary is the fruit of their marriage.

By a singular grace of God in view of the merits of Jesus, she was preserved from all stain of Original Sin from the moment of her conception. Thus it is in the context of married life and conjugal love that Mary is prepared to receive the Divine Logos, the Word made flesh, Jesus Christ our Lord. Jesus is the Logos, the “Reason” at the heart of all reason and truth, including the truth of marriage.

The marriage between Joachim and Anne is a significant witness to why marriage is “unique for a reason.”

Editor’s note: Some people of the homosexual persuasion have taken blasphemous issue with the new site. If you want to sample some queer logic, you have a strong stomach, and you are not too put-off by profanity and blasphemy click here. The reader comments are some of the ugliest I’ve seen, anywhere.

Novel Idea: “FreeFrFrank.com” website set up to garner support, email protests, on behalf of Father Pavone

The sentiment is understandable, but the concept is somewhat misguided … at least for Catholics.

A Site Devoted To Saint Padre Pio of Pietrelcina

Satan went beyond all the limits of deception when he went to Father Pio pretending to be a penitent. This is the Father Pio’s testimony:

“One day, while I was hearing confessions, a man came to the confessional where I was. He was tall, handsome, dressed with some refinement and he was kind and polite. He started to confess his sins, which were of every kind: against God, against man and against the morals. All the sins were obnoxious!

I was disoriented, in fact for all the sins that he told me, but I responded to him with God’s Word, the example of the Church, and the morals of the Saints.   But the enigmatic penitent answered me word for word, justifying his sins, always with extreme ability and politeness.  He excused all the sinful actions, making them sound quite normal and natural, even comprehensible on the human level.

He continued this way with the sins that were gruesome against God, Our Lady, the Saints, always using disrespectful round-about argumentation. He kept this up even with with the foulest of sins that could be conjured in the mind of a most sinful man.  The answers that he gave me with such skilled subtlety and malice surprised me.

I wondered: who is he? What world does he come from? And I tried to look at him in order to read something on his face. At the same time I concentrated on every word he spoke, trying to discover any clue to his identity.

But suddenly; through a vivid, radiant and internal light I clearly recognized who he was. With a sound and imperial tone I told him, “Say long live Jesus, long live Mary!”

As soon as I pronounced these sweet and powerful names, Satan instantly disappeared in a trickle of fire, leaving behind him an unbearable stench.”

(Don Pierino is a priest and one of the father Pio’s spiritual sons who were present at the same time.)

Preliminary results of “Catholics Come Home” Campaign: As many as 200,000 people have come back to the faith or converted.

…the Diocese of Phoenix called me back in 1997, and they said “the Holy Father Pope John Paul II, for the New Evangelization, would like to invite inactive Catholics back home to the Church for the Jubilee, would you help us?” I said of course, that’s the fulfillment of my dream, and that is the calling I had on my retreat, to use the talents that God had given me, not for my own benefit but for the Church.

So I said yes, of course, and we did a very simplistic version of Catholics Come Home back in 1997. We aired it for 2.5 weeks in the Diocese of Phoenix, and miraculously 3,000 people came back to the Church. I figured out how much we had invested and said, “Hey, it is only $10 a soul. This is an incredible return and investment.” That was a one-time program and years later now we resurrected it, and created it as a full time lay apostolate, faithful to the magisterium of the Church. We’ve got excellent boards of advisors, we’ve got many clergy, we’ve got business advisors, we have lay theologians, noted Catholic authors, speakers who give us advice and make sure that our commercials have sound teachings.

So we aired the commercials again, under the new form where there are film commercials like “Epic” showing the universality of the Church all over the world, commercials like “Movie” that call folks to a deeper relationship with Jesus and talk about his divine mercy, testimonial ads of people who have left the Church for various reasons and have come home, and now miraculously the results are even more grace-filled. We’ve aired in 12 archdioceses and dioceses around the United States — Chicago, Seattle, back in Phoenix again — and while we are still working with the dioceses to calculate final statistics, it appears that as many as 200,000 people have come back to the faith or converted, which is a huge blessing, and the average diocese, based on the initial statistics, has grown as much as 11%.

USCCB Mission Statement Released

The United States Council of Catholic Bishops recently posted a Mission Statement, on the official USCCB website.

USCCB Mission Statement

The mission of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops is to support the ministry of bishops with an emphasis on evangelization, by which the bishops exercise in a communal and collegial manner certain pastoral functions entrusted to them by the Lord Jesus of sanctifying, teaching, and governing.

This mission calls the Conference to

Abortion Changes You – New Resource Site

Abortion Changes You TM

ABORTION CHANGES YOU

Many men, women, family members and friends are seeking to make sense of their own or a loved one’s abortion experience.  You are not alone.

Abortion Changes You is an invitation for those who have been touched by abortion – men, women, grandparents, siblings, other family members and friends – to know that they are not alone and that healing resources are available.  Men and women are able to type in their Zip code and find local resources such as after abortion ministries and counselors.  The outreach includes the interactive Web site AbortionChangesYou.com and the book Changed

The Abortion Changes You outreach is close to my heart because I’ve been there.

When I became pregnant at 18, I had an abortion.

I was completely unprepared for the emotional fallout. I thought the abortion would erase the pregnancy. I thought I could move on with my life. I was wrong.

I experienced periods of intense anger followed by periods of profound sadness. With counseling and the help of supportive friends, I was able to enter into a healthy grieving process.  In addition to grieving the loss of my child, I slowly became aware of how my choice to abort had impacted my family. I was surprised and saddened that my parents, my sister, and even my living children struggled to deal with the loss of a family member through abortion.

Over the years I’ve heard many heartrending stories about abortion. Although each story is unique, a common thread moves through them all-abortion changes you. Although abortion has touched many of us, we rarely share our personal experiences regarding it.

This is what led me to write a book that shares some of the stories I’ve heard. Changed: Making Sense of Your Own or a Loved One’s Abortion Experience is an invitation to begin the healing process through a grief and loss healing model.

There was also a need for a safe space for people to tell their stories, explore the ways abortion has impacted them, and find resources. We created AbortionChangesYou.com to fill this need.

It is my hope that the Web site and book will assist you as you seek to make sense of your abortion or the abortion of someone close to you.

If you have not been touched by abortion, I hope that the Web site and book will aid you as you seek to sensitively and compassionately communicate with others about abortion.
