Ash Wednesday Catholic Mass celebrated in the White House

The White House hosted an Ash Wednesday mass for Catholic staffers, to mark the beginning of the Lenten season.

The Mass was held in the South Auditorium of the Executive Office Building (EEOB) on Wednesday morning, according to White House sources.

Catholic White House officials attending the Mass, included Acting White House Chief of Staff Mick Mulvaney, Counselor to the President Kellyanne Conway, Director of the Domestic Policy Council Joe Grogan, and director of the U.S. Office of National Drug Control Policy.

Dozens of White House staffers also attended and even some members of the Secret Service.

It’s time to stop the slaughter of innocent White House guests!

The Director of the White House Visitor’s Office, Ellie Shafer, today distributed an email newsletter to members of Congress and others providing detailed instructions on how to register an unborn child (“a baby that has not yet been born,” as Shafer puts it) into the security system the White House uses to arrange group tours.

“We have received a number of calls regarding how to enter security information for a baby that has not yet been born,” Shafer wrote. “Crazy as it may sound, you MUST include the baby in the overall count of guests in the tour. It’s an easy process.”

Don’t be deceived!

And this is charity: That we walk according to his commandments. For this is the commandment that, as you have heard from the beginning, you should walk in the same: For many seducers are gone out into the world who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a seducer and an antichrist.

Look to yourselves, that you lose not the things which you have wrought: but that you may receive a full reward. Whosoever revolts and continues not in the doctrine of Christ hath not God. He that continues in the doctrine, the same hath both the Father and the Son.

(For those unfamiliar with scripture, I inserted the above reference to the (WHITE) house, since it was clear to me that something had obviously been lost, in translation.)

Six pro-life marchers arrested in front of the White House – for kneeling, in prayer.

Among those arrested were a Catholic priest, Father Denis Wilde, the Associate Director of Priests for Life; and Presbyterian minister, the Reverend Patrick Mahoney, Director of the Christian Defense Coalition.

LifeSiteNews.com is reporting that a total of six pro-life protestors were charged and arrested for “disobeying a lawful order,” and eventually released after paying a $100 fine apiece.

Fr. Wilde stated that it is legal to protest in front of the Executive Mansion, but only if the protestors are physically in motion.

As the Catholic cleric explained, it’s legal to walk, but illegal to kneel and pray.

Darron Paul Monteiro, associate director of the White House Office of Public Engagement, sent the statement in an email to multiple sources, including top Catholic Democrats and supporters of the administration.

Addressing the message to “friends,” Monteiro said: “I wanted to be sure you saw Sister Carol Keehan’s statement on the new regulation being proposed and finalized later this morning. This policy will accommodate important religious liberty concerns while protecting the health of women. The President will announce further details around noon today.”

Obama’s penchant for baby-killing apparently unaffected by White House demonstration.

Washington (CNN) — Hundreds of anti-abortion activists gathered in Washington’s Lafayette Park on Sunday on the 39th anniversary of Roe v. Wade, the Supreme Court decision that legalized abortion nationwide.

The 90-minute program featured speakers, music and a quick march along the White House’s north gate, located in front of the park.

Many carried signs and recited prayers during the gathering, which was organized by the nonprofit group March for Life.

Was Archbishop Dolan hoodwinked by President Obama’s lies … or is it just politics?

Dolan, president of the bishops’ conference, described his Nov. 8 meeting with Obama — first reported on Saturday by the National Catholic Reporter — as “extraordinarily friendly.”

“It was very candid. I would say there were areas of agreement and disagreement,” Dolan told reporters at the bishops’ gathering.

“But I would say this: that I found the president of the United States to be very open to the sensitivities of the Catholic community that were worried about an intrusion into religious liberty.”

Dolan said Obama was “very sensitive” to the bishops’ concerns over gay marriage and insurance mandates to provide artificial birth control coverage as part of the new health care reform law.

“He was very ardent in his desire to assure me that this is something he will look long and hard at. And I left there feeling a bit more at peace about this issue than when I entered.”

Oprah show: Obamas gush over meeting Pope

Michelle Obama Hosts Planned Parenthood Prez for Women’s Day

Cecile Richards sent a message on Twitter on Tuesday afternoon that she was “Celebrating the 100th anniversary of International Women’s Day at the White House with First Lady Michelle Obama.”

Other abortion advocates joined Richards, according to another tweet saying, “And with two of my heroines for women – [pro-abortion] Congresswomen Debbie Wasserman Schultz and Nita Lowey – you are amazing.”

This isn’t the first time the Obamas have given the president of the nation’s biggest abortion business access to the White House for private-invite only events or meetings.

It’s time the U.S. Bishops hired a trained, professional spokesman to help deal with controversial, “hot button” issues.

The Catholic Healthcare West abortion case is one of those “damned if you do and damned if you don’t” situations for the Catholic church.

Bishop Olmsted is absolutely right in his determination. The Church has thousands of years of practical experience, Canon Law, and Catholic philosophy (not to mention, God) on its side. Yet, watching the various news accounts on television, the Church is once again publicly cast as a secretive organization (run by a bunch of old men) that doesn’t care about women’s rights, and that possesses no particular expertise or authority, when it comes to life and death medical decisions. Which … of course … is absolutely untrue.

But that’s not the main point of this article.

The simple fact is … no offense … the television camera is not kind to Bishop Olmsted. Like many of his brother bishops, he is much better suited, experienced, and trained at speaking from the pulpit, in a church … so a hastily called press conference and subsequent TV sound bites (selected by the biased, secular press) are bound to cast him (and the church) in a less than ideal light.

So here’s my suggestion for the USCCB, in order to better support all the Catholic bishops, and better communicate the authentic teachings and enlightened philosophy of the Catholic Church:

Hire and retain a professional, national spokesperson to publicly articulate and explain (working closely, from a script, produced by the particular bishop) the Church’s official position on difficult, high profile matters of the day, as events develop.

The spokesperson would need to be an attractive, experienced, professional communicator, with natural charisma, who is comfortable speaking in front of television cameras and working with the press. Not necessarily a clergyman, either. A dedicated, professional support staff, with writers, makeup people, studio, lighting experts, internet geeks and others, would also be required.

The official spokesperson would operate from a Washington, D.C. “situation room” and would interface from there, with the bishops and with members of the press, much as the White House already does, with the Washington press corps.

Some time ago, General Electric hired an actor by the name of Ronald Reagan to be their point man, and things subsequently worked out pretty well for all concerned. There’s absolutely no reason why the Catholic Church couldn’t do something similar.

No media at Obama abortion-order signing

According to The Washington Times:

On Wednesday, Mr. Stupak and 12 House Democrats will attend the subdued ceremony, along with Sen. Bob Casey, who helped draft compromise language.

The order bans the federal government from using taxpayer money for abortions offered through insurance exchanges created under the new law. Critics feared that community health centers would be allowed to accept federal money for abortions.

At least according to the White House: Not even a photographer will be allowed into the Oval Office to capture the moment.
